It sounds a lot like my 1380 , that hasn't been driven for a couple of years due to body repairs . . . life get's in the way sometimes. I just started picking up the work again and this video , really makes me want to get this thing back on the road. It's soooo much fun ! . . . thanks for reminding me , greetz from the Netherlands. 👊😎
Hey B, the shift light is set to 7500 and the rev limiter on the MSD ignition is set to 8200 at the moment. I'll make sure you can see the tacho in the next vid :)
Great sound....goes well ! Where are you based ? Right hand drive, right side of the road but looks US. What is the carb/induction /exhaust set up, Id like to try and replicate that wonderful sound.
Hey Fast Track, I'm based in Sydney Australia. It has a 45DCOE Weber with ram tubes on a Russel Engineering manifold. Exhaust is a set of big bore Maniflow extractors with a 1 3/4in mild steel pipe and a free-flowing stainless muffler made by a local exhaust shop.
Cheers Anthony, it's a mk2 Cooper S block and head, ported with the biggest valves you can fit. RE270 cam, S crank and rods, Russell Engineering pistons, manifold etc. Straight cut close ratio gearbox and drop gears, MED xlite flywheel and clutch. 1340cc, it made 145hp on the engine dyno and around 93 at the wheels last time I put it on the rollers.
@@GTE_Channel Cheers mate, it's pretty cranky below about 3000 rpm but it's a weekend warrior and not a daily driver so it's allowed to be a little angry ;-)

Beautiful car! I'm in the process of deciding on my build, and as of now it is just.. this car!
I love the sounds this car makes. I can never clearly make out the tacho in the vids though
