    You can also blend the oats with water until smooth, then pour into pot with low heat; stiring continuously until it becomes moldable. That's how i do mine, because it gives a very smooth texture. Try it out and thank me later!

    I just came from a 12hour shift and decided to eat fufu from oats. I said I needed the recipe and said aunty Flo will definitely have this recipe and you never disappoint. Thank you. 😊

    I make my oatmeal fufu quite different. I blend the raw oats, with the same amount of water that I measured the oats, in a blender. Then pour the contents in the pot. Turn on the heat and keep stirring till it thickens and turns to fufu. Like you, I add drops of water and let it boil for a while and then turn till it's ready to be swallowed. If I'm mad hungry, I don't bother to add any drops of water for it to boil. No patience cos a lady's got to eat or else lol! Thanks Ms Flo for the fufu marathon!

    • @FloChinyere
      @FloChinyere  6 років тому +2

      LOL @ "If I'm mad hungry" If I am making it your way, I would not add drops of water because it is already well cooked by the time the dough forms - longer cooking time. With my method, at the time the dough is formed, it has not cooked for long enough hence the need to add the drops of water and steam. So you don't need to wait anymore. Make hunger no kill my Zomiks o. 😉

    • @waakaaboutgyal
      @waakaaboutgyal 6 років тому +1

      All Nigerian Recipes lol! It's just that I'm always scared of the fufu having seeds if I make them your way. I've tried it before and it didn't look good. Your style is for the confident ones. But I'll try it again 😀 thanks!

    • @FloChinyere
      @FloChinyere  6 років тому +1

      Zomiks202 my method is not quicker than yours o. I was just saying that you do not need to add drops of water to yours and continue cooking because for you, oatmeal fufu had already attained the correct doneness by the time yours forms a dough. But mine needs the extra cooking because it has not attained the correct doneness by the time it formed the dough - the dough forms in seconds which is not enough cooking time. So I need to cook mine more.
      Don't worry, one of these days, we will tackle the science of making non clumpy semo and the rest. 😉

    Your marathon series are great! If anyone doesn't have a coffee or spice grinder, you could use a regular blender for whole oats. Use the same amount of water for the amount of oats you would like to make. Once you blend it together, put the mixture in a pot and wait for it to thicken up a little so you start turning it. I find this to be easier for me, no lumps. lol

    • @FloChinyere
      @FloChinyere  6 років тому +2

      Tolu that sounds interesting. By same amount do you mean if you are making 1 cup of oats, blend with 1 cup of water?

      All Nigerian Recipes Not at all. I sift the flaxseed because even though it’s grounded it still has shaft. It comes out looking like amala. But very very nutritious. Sometimes I add wheat flour. 👍🏽
