My X1C showed up today along with the filament I need. The EDF and ESC got here yesterday and all I'm waiting for is a new battery and I'll be using this video to watch again and assemble as I watch.
@@hotlapkyle no, I'm a total beginner and am reading everything I can get my hands on and watching many UA-cam videos on the X1C and 3D printing in general. ANY suggestions would be appreciated. I have the four primary colors in each of PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, PC and a roll of PVA. No lightweight, glass or carbon filled... I thought I'd wait on those till I had some better experience. The flight hardware I've got is a NX8 transmitter, an AR10360T Receiver, the Avian 45 ESC and a Spektrum 3S, 2200mah Smart battery I followed your lead and bought the Miuzei servos along with the EDF you used in the Mini-delta.
@@bobjoatmon1993 definitely get some active foaming LW PLA for the planes. It’s almost half the weight. Definitely join my FB group Kyle’s Designs 3d printer airplanes so we can get you some printing profiles. Just post on the group that you came from UA-cam and I’ll know you
@@hotlapkyle I've ordered the PLA-LW I don't belong to any social media, with all the psychology, sociology, history and economics I've taken I believe social media is corrosive to the fabric of society. I'm not some tinfoil hat wearing nut but I really believe that within 20 years or even less most people will recognize it and use will drop. Besides which, they all vacuum up all you data and you really have no control over what's done with it or how it effects you. So I might join but I'd have to sacrifice my convictions to do it. But, since it might be a while before I'm up and running with my X1C I just today hired a guy to print the plane for me. I pre-paid for him to buy and download another copy and for a spool of the LW, he's charging $3.00 an hour print time.
One hour build 1 hour filling and sanding.... 1 hour masking and priming.... 1 hour painting.... 2.5 minutes flying/crashing 2 hours circling the block because your wife is going to know you crashed when you've only been gone for 12 minutes......
Love your enthusiasm and your design efforts. I'm presently into quad copters but I'm curious how well the licenses work out for you on cults 3D. I have a good quad design I'd like to publish but I've put in too much time refining it to give away free.
nice tutorial! how do you make hinges, print some 2 layer PLA rectangle or ? thanks a lot! would you mind adding control horns files int oviggen 90mm one too? aI bought one but files were not added yet
Yes! Does the file include the really flat thin square with the control horns? It should say “hinge material” you just print that in LW pla or pla. I prefer LW
I see that the battery 2200mAh 3s 11.1V Lipo Battery with XT60 is available in two different dimensions 75mm(2.5 inch) x 25mm(0.9 inch) x 33mm(1.2inch) and 107mm(4.5inch) x 18mm(.07inch) x 33mm(1.2inch) which one should I use for this build? Thanks
That is one cool bird! What 3D printer do you use for your builds? Would the Creality Ender-3 3D Printer work to print these Jets or would I have to purchase a higher-quality 3D printer? Thanks.
I started with an ender 3 and it’s more than capable. You need to really be a technician to keep it running smoothly, especially on long prints. I have two Bambu P1s/P1Ps. They are seamless. I just send the print and they never fail. They have auto bed leveling so it’s hands off.
@@hotlapkyle That is awesome! I'm going to have to buy the Bambu. I've been wanting a new printer. I've been watching you have so much fun with these small edf jets. I only have Turbines and it's hard to get out to go fly them. It's like planning for a vacation. These small EDFs would fill in that lost flying time. Thanks, man, I'm going to go buy the Bambu p1. Appreciate your help.
@@FarmerFpv once I got my first Bambu I never plugged my other printers in. That reminds me, I need to list them for sale lol. Let me know when you get the printer and I’ll send you the settings
I think that someone else ask this but I isn’t see an answer or reply. What material is the yellow hinges made from and where do you get it? I have a Talon 1400 almost built and I need the same material for it as well.
My print is all done, and I just ordered a fan, esc and some batteries for this guy!
Awesome 👏
Tom, what battery did you order?

Thanks! Cults has been very seamless to deal with just upload files. They take roughly 15%

Great build video Kyle! What glue and kickr would you recommend ? TY!
Thanks so sorry I missed this question, I use starbond CA and starbond kicker
What are your print settings? . With PLA, S3d says the airframe alone will weigt 1kg :-) Do you use 3% infill with all parts ?
With active foaming LW pla I use 3% infill (grid)

You might not want to keep it in your truck in summer or spring. It will soften and deform.
