Because he was a brilliant horse but a total dog. I was at a Cheltenham Festival preview event a few years where Paul Carberry was asked about the ride and he said he didfn't have any sleepless nights over it.
@@davebesag finally someone who makes sense Harchibald was arguably the most talented horse of the likes of Brave Inca and Hardy Eustace however they had the heart and wanted it more
That was Paul Carberry on Harchibald, who was a very difficult ride, pulling himself up when hitting the front, so had to be produced really late. However, on that run in he was being nursed, he had very little left in the tank and he was up against a real street fighter in Hardy Eustace.
