I'm so addicted to these Recess episodes. I miss these days watching this on TV.
💯 It's all I watched and it's all I watch LMFAO 😂😁 it's the greatest animated show of all time!!
Johnny Canuck same
I wasn’t even alive when this show started or when it ended but I’m still addicted to this show too
Same. I switched over from harvey birdman, sealab 202, and home movies
Edit: and crayon shin chan, best show

The awkward moment when you realize that’s very probably Gus’ grandfather, whose been put into a home and never knew his grandson.
I'm glad I am not the only one who noticed that, no wonder he knew his father was a big guy, because its his son....
I feel like that’s unlikely, there are 0 signs that Gus doesn’t know his grandpa.
So True.
Eh I don’t think so, Gus’ dad might be a strict military guy but I don’t think he’d be the type to be cruel enough to not tell Gus about his grandparents.
Vospader21 I agree. Gus' dad might be a strict military man, but I'm pretty sure he and Gus' mom would still tell Gus all about his family, including his grandparents.
“Microphone ain’t the problem honey! You are” and that too to a kid 😂😂😂😂
Adults and elderly were aloud to be even harsher than that to random kids without the law being a problem or the parents.
Love these rare episodes where they don’t take place at school or involve the usual antagonists.
I love how TJ basically met Hogan from Hogan's heroes.
I once visited a retirement home when i was 18, my Dad's one of the adults who does work for the church's youth group, and they decided to schedule a visit to the local retirement home, there were so many interesting people there, the guitarist of the choir was accompanying us, and he hung out with some OG musicians there, i ended up conversing with this old lady who was a nurse and a damn good one, she had 5 medical degrees, three from highly reputable universities, she was so interesting to talk to, and she gave me candy
Man Mikey really knows how to lay on the guilt trip with his friends!!
Mikey: can you imagine YOUR grandparents, all alone, waiting for some sort of youthful cheer?
Me: My grandparents are dead...
*awkward silence*
Isaac Lee mine are too and that wouldnt work for me
I'd imagine you could still imagine them being lonely if you met them while they were still alive
I think then imagining older people who you love being old and alone would still have a similar effect. Or even imagining your parents ending up alone when they're older somehow or parent like figures
I only have two left and both live in Florida and New Hampshire
Mine too so I know your pain. Mine died when I was only 21...how about you?
I like how even tho she is a tomboy, hard as nails and don't take rubbish from anybody,
Spinally is a big softy!!
When you talk about Pokémon to an elder and it turns out they understand you=This episode.
Or millennials talking to 6 yr olds
I love pokemon! And I'm 27
That's a good chunk of us in about 50 years lol
Im happy to see the comments are available again!
I love how all of those americana prisoners are basically the recess gang that terrorize the germans in the second world war
peter E their pranks on Plikley to get more freedom in the playground are kids work compared to pranking Nazis in order to steal valuable information for the free world
4:33 gritchen meets Albert Einstein
Einstein never worked on the manhattan project.
Same thought..hi5
DEATHBYFLYINGCDS he faked his death and did it secretly. He then ended up in that retirement home
I laughed how the dude scientifically said he wouldn't waste his breath (diffusion of Carbon Dioxide) on anyone who wasn't smart enough.
8:01 TJ realizing that, Mr. Rogan is the real life creator of “Señor Fusion” was my favorite moment in this episode!
I love the Hogans Heroes reference :)
I see nothing 😂
@@Adoni3I know nothing 😂
The whole show is basically a kids version of Hogan’s Heroes
His name is "Rogan" too
Gus: "Maybe you can find 5 other friends."
Bruh.
Lool
The respect for the elderly, kids these days wouldn't even have the idea how amazing and wonderful old ppl can be, I was raised by my grandparents. I love every memory and lesson I learn from them, once they're gone it's over.
Guz might have met his grandfather..
Vince found John Witherspoon.
Mikey pisses my off all the time "I promised that I'd have 5 friends today" ask them first
Sam Moro he is a kid
Well those first few minutes were pretty irritating.
Gamer Raichu I think it's also "you should LISTEN to people. Since Mikey ignored his friends just like he ignored the old people.
Disliking Any Recess Episode means you are a Miserable person cause this is Hands down one of the Greatest Cartoons of All Time
Damien Hardy exactly.
agreeee
True dat
@ Damien Hardy: Recess is THE best cartoon of all time. I'm 59 and loving Recess. Gretchen is my homegirl and TJ is my crush!
redhairkid what the fuck
I would've really reamed Mikey out for this one. YOU don't decide what I do with MY day. If you wanna go do something nice then go ahead but DON'T sign me up for that without consulting me on the matter first. This episode obviously made him totally forget BASIC courtesy.
I agree. I understand both sides. I worked at such a place..
When I get old, I'm gonna tell my future grandchildren about the days when music, video games, TV shows, movies, and almost everything were popular in the 20th and early 21st centuries! Every generation has move on to the next generation--like us late 20th century people born in the 70's-90's.
This was by far my favourite episode, shows a unique way of relating to older generations
Hi there guys! iVideoXD here after almost a decade of posting these videos. I'm hoping you're all continually enjoying some of my favorite childhood series and wishing everyone the best into the New Year of 2020.
I know it's a little shocking to hear from me after so long, but I have been very busy with my life the past 5 years. I was a full-time student while going to work full-time to make ends meet. I've never monetized these videos or made any profit from them as they were not my creation. Some of you have reached out to see if there's some way you can donate or support me to me for bringing childhood memories back and I've set up a gofundme page: gf.me/u/w9w5ud
Please remember there is no obligation to donate, please continue to enjoy the videos!
You would think the people who hosted a Senor Fusion fest would’ve asked the freaking GUY WHO CREATED HIM to be there. That always confused me even as a child.
Maybe he was kicked out of the company it happens,Steve Ditko created Dr.Strange he died in 2018.I just assumed Stan Lee did because most ppl think Stan Lee did everything ,unless youre a hardcore fan who reads the comics too
they did not know what happened
Maybe he was just a concept creator, or decided to live the rest of his days in peace.
Ask Jerry Seigel and Joe Shuster where they were in the Superman Conventions.
Because that wasn't even him, just some poor senile old man who really liked comics as a kid.
The guy TJ is hanging out with is Gregg Berger who played Orson Pig on Garfield and Friends.
When you realize Mikey can be selfish sometimes...they don't make them like they use to.
And I'm starting to sound old, and I'm not drinking age yet.
This was an episode I recorded on a VHS tape when I was 6-7 years old. Rewatching this was very nostalgic lol.
George is Gus’ “dead” grandpa
They put him in a home because of the dementia
"Never know when some vacuum salesman won't take no for an answer!" Hahahahaha
Well SUCKS to be him, doesn't it? :)
The seniors are "hot stuff." They must have been pretty wild in their youthful years.
What an awesome episode!!
"Old People are the greatest. They're full of wisdom and experience."
-Spongebob
Ngl, I would very much resent Mikey for this. I know he means well, but he basically manipulated them into doing something that they very clearly didn't want to do on a day where something they did wanna do was happening and for just that 1 day. They could visit an old folks home any time and he should have given them a heads up so they can prepare. They are kids and kids don't typically enjoy doing thinks like that.
Facts I was just about to say the same thing : you signed up and didn't even ask us, and I would have said another time
Mikey truly deserved the booing he got
Not to mention it was just so he could hear himself sing to the old people. (8:45 - 8:52)
@@99thJediWarriorexactly. And he ended up being the only one ready to go.
This was far from the first episode where he acted like that, honey. Remember "Dancing Lessons"? He basically guilt-tripped Spinelli into doing the performance with him (okay, she volunteered to be his partner in the first place, but when she realized that doing the performance meant being watched by her entire class, she got visibly uncomfortable and noped out of the duet which Mikey should have accepted instead of guilt-tripping her by playing the sad, unfortunate victim). Additionally, when he became a safety officer, he kinda did the same thing. This dude is actually so immature that he can't handle rejections. His friends are younger and act more mature than him.
Realizing the elderly are cooler than us young bloods.
😎😎
“Convince the friends he already has” by emotional manipulation.
Mikey: "Is this fictional favorite of yours really more important than living, breathing people?"
T.J.: "Quit asking me hard questions Mikey!" Lmao
This seems way out of character for Mikey. He normally would ask his friend's permissions before signing them up for anything. And the only reason he wanted to go was pretty selfish. he also manipulates them to say yes
Sure TJ did kinda the same in The First Picture Show, but everyone wanted to see the movie and just had to convince the teachers and Prickly. He didn't force his friends to ask, they all wanted in
Not the first time, remember the safety officer thing? If I recall there are other episodes where he can be pretty selfish despite who he is.
I guess he kinda is just used to the "Mikey is so nice he'll get what he wants by asking" then kinda just expects everyone to be nice back because hes nice
@@IchigoKurosaki011 Or in germ warfare
I'm pretty sure he lessened his tendencies.
thank you for uploading this 🙏🏼 recess is part of my childhood ❤️😊
5:33 “Holy Heck” was my reaction!
Gretchen: “perhaps you’d like to discuss the physics of subatomic particles?”
Old Man: “now that I’m *declassified* I’d be delighted. I was one of the leads in the manhattan project.”
Translation (this guy worked on atomic bombs) 😳🤣
Who does his voice? Maurice LaMarche?
@@Sage-km5je Not sure.
@@Sage-km5jeThat's Jeff Bennett
@jefelix2010 Ah, i see. The actor of the old man talking to Gretchen sounds a lot like Maurice LaMarche.
Wait a second. The family of the guy who made Señor Fusion put him in an old folks' home?!
Well, dang. Nothing says "I hate you, Dad" like that.
Mikey is to blame in this one. Keeping his Saturday plans a secret instead of planning a better day to go by telling them earlier then expects them to skip something that is only once a year to do something that can be done any day. Shame.
One of my favorite eps especially Gretchens words in encouraging her elder to talk.
Gus: Maybe you can find 5 other friends lmao
Any one else get the Hogan's hero's reference?
no
Staymadfagots yes
yes
YES
Staymadfagots yes
he's not gay, he's an opera singer in the making
I didnt realize till now that the creator of senor fusion's flashback was a Hogan's Heros reference till now...
Really the whole show was modeled after Hogan's Heroes, albeit lesser stakes. TJ is a kid version of Hogan.
Quit asking me hard questions, Mikey! major lolz
Senor Fusion, or Senior Citizens
Ha I love it how the only black oldie is paired up with Vince :)
lol a hogan heros parody. just wow wow wow. a POW joke. Recess has it all
It’s funny I was in 4th grade when this show came out & we had a field trip just like this. I’ll never forget it.
When I was a kid I kind had a crush on Mikey. His character was sweet, poetic, mature, artistically inclined, talented and most of all in touch with his emotions.. I am 26 years old now and still kind of like Mikey 😍
He's probably packing a massive hog too.
He was a pow. It's a riff on the tv show Hogan's Heroes.
I have spent a lot of time in nursing homes, never have I ever encountered that many interesting people in one.
i love how mickey just happens to know the lyrics to all the songs
7:45 *snickers* ROOOGAAAAAN!!!
Despacito in the 90’s
This kinda reminds me of when I wanted to go swimming rather than visiting my grandparents, which I do at the end of every month. It was just that once.
Mikey, never make promises you can't keep.
grrr....R-R-R-R-R-RRROOOOOOOGAAANNNNN!!!!
If only those people were in more episodes
7:27 Recess is just the kids version of Hogan’s Heroes
I love how this show references Hogans Heroes, when its basically an homage to it already.
7:26 Hogan's Heroes reference.
Couldn't they just go for like an hour or so then go to the festival?
"You helped develop the weapon that ended WWII?" Leaving out a few details there, Gretchen
Toon Disney what a throwback
Question: Why would it be acceptable for a load of children to attend an old peoples home alone?
This was a very insightful episode!
Well everyone had good and bad moments in the series. This one didn't seem to be one of Mikey's best moments when it came to character
why is Eisenstein here? lol
It's pretty unfair to spring an obligation on all of your friends and not give details about what they'll do until it's almost time.
0:36 Why is it that the writers didn't go with "If it's a choice between senior fusion or Senior Citizens?"
Ok a lot of you people have real big issues for hating on ‘Mikey'.
Mikey was lame in this one but still I love them all B-)
this episode was just way too wholesome
(well i was a teen and it was disrespectful) however every generation has their own rendition of rude, pompous, rebellious kids. Yeah sure our generation has problems and our elders did some great things in the past, but people shouldn't just look at the negatives. The only reason why i responded with the negatives was because the elder looked at the negs to our generation.
this episode always proved to me that you shouldn't get you hopes up with anything - you'll only end up disappointed like Mikey. If you approach things with no expectations, you can only be pleasantly surprised.
9.52 - Gus' guy..... LOL, perv!
Ronald McDonald had a restaurant
Mikey's good at guilt-tripping people. Advanced for a fourth grader.
Miley is such a narcissist
that hogans hero's reference is Lit
LOL! funny
a senior/ Señor joke was a missed opportunity for a joke here :)
Is the guy Vince is hanging out with voice by Bill Cosby
Nope. It's Kevin Michael Richardson.
If It was Bill Cosby all the woman the home would be out cold
musicaltheatergeek79 I knew it was him the minute I heard his voice
You're right it is Kevin Michael Richardson. And actually I meant Bill Cobbs not Bill Cosby, I thought he sounded like Bill Cobbs from Night at the Museum and Air Bud
@@moneylover318I had meant Bill Cobbs not Bill Cosby
Do you know what's wrong with your generation. One Direction
One of the best episodes.
HOAGAN'S HEROS?!!
EPIC!!!
The boxer lady = Grandma from Hey Arnold!
Any Spanish speakers out know what Mikey is actually singing, if anything at all?
You couldn't understand most of it? It was in English. At any rate, here are the lyrics ("que simpático" more or less translates as "oh, how nice"):
Que simpático means I think you're fine
Que simpático because you're divine
Let me tell you now!
Sometimes I just have to shout que simpático
Let my feelings right out que simpático
You are without a doubt que simpático
I'm so glad you're mine
Oh, yeah!
Happy Saturday Everybody
I once had an old man ask me the same question as Mr. Rogan. "Kid you know what's wrong with your generation?"
I don't know what possessed me into saying this but I said "No. But I know what was wrong with your generation: Racism, sexism, offensive nationalism, segregation, little to no appreciation to evolution and other sciences."
He was quiet and just walked away.
And ours has sexual perversion, degeneracy, no respect for authority, no work ethic, and no respect for human life.
Jerk.
Erik Palomera YOU SPIT THAT FIRE 🔥🔥🔥
It's just more subtle nowadays :^)
Define “offensive nationalism”?Anyway, despite the existence of things such as Jim Crow, the country was in far better shape in terms of mores and ethics in the 50’s and as someone who was born in the 90’s I can say without hesitation that I would love to be living in those times before drug/hip-hop culture,P.C,virulent anti-Americanism etc. came on the scene.
I love the Hogan's Heroes reference in this. So funny.
Somebody please tell me out of all the episodes ive seen of Mikey, is he gay or jus really sensitive fat kid?
Koolayd Allen hes really sensitive, doesn't like violence or competing, he's like the voice of reason in the show
He's emotionally sensitive with a strong sense of doing the right thing. He's straight as a pin. Watch the episode The Voice
Koolayd Allen Mikey is not gay, he felt un love with his music teacher (hispanic lady)
That doesn't mean he can't be bi
*ymndman* but you're automatically assuming he likes sex with other men simply because he's sensitive and into the arts.
Omg I love old people! Sometimes the say the funniest things its either they are not aware of what they say or dont give a f***. Plus old couples are adorable
Mikey’s the worst character to me. How do you make a promise on your friends behalf then get mad when they don’t want to be a part of it? And THEN manipulate their emotions so they do it anyway?
Chill dude.
I didn't realise how high pitch this show is when I was a kid.
