      Your husband is so lucky because I've mentioned several times to my wife about relocating to another country when we retire and she frowned at it. Smh she's from Memphis so go figure.

      @slickwilly6868 My husband's from Memphis, and he's been flip-flopping on relocating abroad. He's very well traveled. It's just the process of purging belongings he's hung up on.
      I hope your wife comes around to the idea!

    This was a wonderful interview, Tracie is great! I'm so glad that she and her partner found a place that was welcoming and that they feel at home in. I love her enthusiasm for the Mexican culture, wanting to integrate into the community, and shop local.

    OMG! I fell in love with Tracie, we’re a gay male couple of 28 years moving to Ajijic hopefully in 2025 not too far from San Miguel Allende. Mariana thank you for all you do with your UA-cam channel’s. I love watching all your videos and this interview was extremely enlightening. I look so forward to meeting you all one day soon. We will be buying your relocation magazine. I know we could’ve saved $100 during the holiday special but we don’t mind paying full price. I will be looking into purchasing it by the end of this year 2024. God bless you and Tracy. I hope to be your neighbor soon. Bob and Jim from Texas.❤

    … thank you for the excellent interview … can we please have a conversation regarding toilets and toilet paper ? … it sounds like an issue that could become a very unpleasant problem … I understand the pipes are too old to handle the extra load on them … but do the newer houses and apartments going further out from town center have the same issues ?

    Nice Interview! I don't understand why someone else would have to make her light-bulb come on! I would have assumed, right off the bat, that part of the housing problems were due to race and gender issues.

    • @MexicoRelocationGuide
      @MexicoRelocationGuide  7 місяців тому +2

      Race and gender issues aren’t usually topics in Mexico as they are in other countries when it comes to housing or being able to rent a place
      I think it happened because too many foreigners leave without fulfilling their full year of rent

    • @jazzioldchick5696
      @jazzioldchick5696 7 місяців тому +1

      @@MexicoRelocationGuide, This is your expertise, so I am not qualified to debate.
      But I will say that Mexico has race and gender discrimination like every country does. I have read articles that state Mexico finally acknowledged or accepted Afro-Mexicans around 2015, less than ten years ago!
      I can personally say that I have been followed in stores and talked about by store employees while traveling in Mexico. (And yes, the conversation was about my race and gender!) I know Black Americans who have been mistaken for Africans or Haitians (by Mexican police) and disrespected until they produced a US passport or Mexican residency documents. While I do feel safer in Mexico, than I do in the US, I know that life for me in Mexico would be different if I were not a US citizen.
