If nine circles levels can be defined as levels that are primarily centered around a wave gamemode at the songs beat drop, then Tidal Wave is technically a nine circles level. But it also doesn’t have any notable flashing colors or effects that add to the difficulty and pretty much define most other nine circles levels, so calling Tidal Wave a nine circles level is like calling a motorcycle a car.
tidal wave is a wave based level not an nc level, by that logic slh was the hardest nc level in 2021 and 2022 and kenos was the hardest from 2019-2021 (before slh was verified)
To be fair, many counts SLH and Kocmoc for nine circle levels 'cause "the NC concept is a hard wave part at the drop". And tbh, it's kinda true, but not at the same time. I would count Kocmoc as a half nine circles level imo.

Wave gameplay doesn't make an NC level. It isn't unique to NC. By that logic VSC is an NC level. Tidal wave doesn't have the nine circles type dubstep ear crusher music, neither does it give you nine seizures.@@QuesKosta
I always assumed that "NC" Levels were categorised based on the pulse-y decoration style in the wave part, not just there being a long wave part at the drop.
I think my man here meant the hardest NC level released in one year without taking into consideration the levels in previous years or else he would have to include Sonic Wave 3 times since Bausha Vortex is a lot easier and Arctic Lights has hack-verified
Aquatic Auroras didn't place on the Demonlist until June 9th 2020, and it was easier than Arctic Lights. Arctic Lights was never the hardest NC in 2018. Endlevel hacked it in that year, and it only got verified legitimately in 2019 by MetalFace221 (his verification video is private because he didn't want his reaction to become the next Npesta Kenos reaction) Edit: someone else said this, but Nine Circles was created in 2015, not in 2014 like the thumbnail says. (Why would there be advanced stuff like that in 2014, most 2014 early 1.9 levels were TOE 2 clones)

sometimes levels are remakes levels of NC levels (like sonic wave infinity) but at that point they don't seem like nine circles levels anymore because they lack the wave with the specific epileptic colour effect

I think slaughterhouse is different because slaughterhouse has more short waves like rivers is only a few seconds and small wave parts in the second half and the first wave which is also fairly short but tidal wave has more longer consecutive wave parts but I don't think it's nc level but slaughterhouse is definitely not because it also has more of a mix of game modes like ship and cube to break it up the wave parts but tidal wave is more like medium to long range wave then other gamemodes
i do think tidal wave is a nine circles bc in the first wave they use the effect in a different way, the effect does not need to be purely visible + it doesnt need to be all red
The hardest Nine Circles level could be considered Nightmarish by izofdoors or Meth Death X because you didn’t specify if a level had to be beaten or rated, anyway the real hardest NC level is Sakupen Circles by DrCuber and more because most people wouldn’t consider Tidal Wave a NC level

To everyone who says that Tidal Wave isn’t a nine circles level, nine circles levels are basically just wave-focused levels with some kind of energetic flashing effect in the wave. Tidal Wave is definitely wave focused, and the pulsing glow lines in the foreground make it flashy enough to count as an NC level.
Is this like the hardest nc levels verified in each year? Because 5:25 Aquatic Auroras is easier than Arctic lights, and 3:06 Baysha Vortex is easier than Sonic Wave.
