It's no longer possible to demand so much from the members, they are now over 50 years old, you can notice that Corey is more tired, he no longer has the energy he used to have, he now needs to take long breaks from shows to hold out for a 1 hour show. . With Eloy on the drums and playing softer without speeding up too much, it makes Corey more comfortable to sing without demanding too much from him.
It's a matter of personal taste. For example, I hated seeing them perform live, because I like to hear the music played at the same bpm at which it was recorded. Live they seemed like technically mediocre musicians. I'm really enjoying this phase, much more technical but with a lot of energy.
