recently discovered this band bc of Joey Batey and I've never heard anything like them. Such amazing lyrics and a unique sound (saw a review call them "Folk goth" which is brilliant). Also want to give kudos to the closed captioning for labelling the two different lyrics they sing
This has to be one of those videos I say it's my favourite one of all times. Because right now it is. Something I long for in music is the feeling of being heard, what the lyrics say and not just what they say per se, but what they /say/ in the sense of, how it's sung, how /I/ sing it, how it makes me feel and how it makes me sing it. I don't know if I'm making sense. But this is one of my favourite songs of the album, and well, that changes every time I listen to it. But this video makes it feel so, honest? Pure? Magical and savage? I'm so glad that one thing or another led me to this band, Madeleine's voice touches something inside that makes me want to run to a forest and sing along to any creature willing to hear. And Joey's just as talented as well, every scream and every whisper in this album is absolutely divine. Makes me feel really glad to be alive right now and know this. And the details in this video also make it look so familiar, comfortable and cozy. From the contrast of the colors of the running girl's socks, to the make up and the blue embroideries of the singer's cloak. Even the little pillow one of the musicians is sitting on. What a great setting this is.

It reminds me of when i sang in a choir and we always had concerts in small villages near our town during Christmas, half-buried in the snow. At least they gave us tea :)

Wow. Just wow. There aren't words... Also just realized that this video, is just over a year old and the other one almost 2 years and what hell it would've been to wait to listen to this and the new album....10 days and counting is hard enough!
Been listening to The Amazing Devil for about six years now, genuinely one of my favorite bands that I've listened to hundreds of times, but never actually looked into them much beyond checking every few months to confirm they still haven't done any touring. Well literally *today* I went and decided to look up a bit more info about the band, and for the first time ever realized that Joey Batey is also Jaskier from The Witcher series, a.k.a. the "Toss A Coin to Your Witcher" guy. I somehow never put that together despite listening to the band for literal years, and my brain is cracked the fuck open right now. Just an absolutely wild thing to realize out of absolutely nowhere when I had genuinely zero clue before today.
I have no idea what the lyrics are, but this song sounds a little haunting and really hopeful at the same time? To me it gives off mumford & sons vibes. Great song!
Is it just me or does this camera man end up exactly where he needs to be to maximize the lyrics. From zooming in on Joey to gliding past the rest of the band to following that little girl dancing through the woods.
Definitely think that I’ve been at this solstice ritual before, hammered on mead and that goblin ale that tastes like shite but you drink anyway because the label is cool.
As someone who went through a nasty divorce, that “I’m doing fine” at the end absolutely breaks me. I found TAD through The Witcher and I can’t think of another time I have fallen so quickly and completely in love with a band.
‘Our devils broke rank, and out of the depths came an army’ Watching two people I care about on a battlefield called a breakup just makes this line hit so hard.
I don't usually comment on videos but I had to, I recently have to deal with a rough break up because I had to break up with my closest confidant and well it's not pretty, also I didn't handle the situation as delicately as I should. I might've lost a friend because of my own faulty wordings. It's been so hard to cope alone, especially since the person I usually share my heartbreak loathed me, and desperate, I choose to drown myself in music. I'm a big fan of The Amazing Devil, but god this song truly hits different after what I've been through. And "...This isn't a break up dear heart it's a season finale." meant more to me than it used to be. This song along with 'Wild Blue Yonder' and 'Ruin' has literally been an anchor stopping me from spiraling further, I'd speak more but words can't do my thanks justice. I can't wait for Joey and Madeleine's next work, and thank you for sharing your *amazing* work to the public (haha get it amazing because amazing devil ok i see myself out)

I'm kind of obsessed with this song. Come here every day since I heard it. Apart from the vocals hard to say exactly why. It just makes me feel things.
Also going to add that the way the lyrics merge and overlap is amazing.
Brilliant! After Netflix release "The Witcher" this video will get a lot of views. Mark my words!
Bet you feel dumb right now
@@awesomedonut8228 Give it some time. I've just learned about his band yesterday while compiling my Jaskier's playlist for the long wait for the second season;).
I admit i didn't quite like the first 20 seconds of this, and then it was like receiving a punch to each side of my face as they made me understand the lyrics, truly hear them as long i didnt hear anything. I was crying, start to finish, and i can't even explain why. I felt this, man. Amazing work!
I can't express how happy I am that I've finally decided to check their music out, I am absolutely and unapologetically in love. The voices, the scenery, the amount of passion put into this - just incredible. What an experience, thank you guys 💜 I will definitely stick around for more

Omg, when I came here, simply wanting to hear more of Joey's singing, I had no idea I'd love the band this much! Can't wait for the new album to come out next month!
Honestly this slaps, wouldn't have discovered it without The Witcher
The kid running around and swooshing is honestly a mood
How the HELL did they write this to periodically sync up like that? And having written it, how the hell did they perform it so perfectly? My god.
I love the kids running around and dancing to the music, too precious!

@@arckocsog253 a lot of open metaphors and stuff for a breakup. Loves lost, it's kind of a common theme with a lot of their music

Came for the Witcher stayed for The Amazing Devil; what a band!
Discovered "The Amazine Devil" Via The Witcher, and the "Love Run" albumb has been a staple on my "While at work" playlist on Spotify ever since :-)
1.) How am I supposed not to look at my phone when y'all are standing in front of the witchiest forest ever and looking hella gorgeous?
2.) Listen, something might be awfully wrong with me, but Joey's growling keeps bringing tears to my eyes; it makes me so emotional in a happy and excited way. Help.
Their songs where Madeleine and Joey's voices overlap with different voices, like this one and Wild Blue Yonder, are my favorites!!!
Also, they seem to say "dear heart" in a few of their songs, and each time I hear it, it makes me want to be able to call someone "dear heart" even more
They actually call their fans their "dear hearts" and joey is apparently a big ass fan of calling people Darling, Love, Drar heart and the likes
for some unexplainable reasons this song makes me happy. the amazing devil has its own unique style and aesthetic and I can't even describe it in one genre. they make breathtaking music. it's so touching and full of emotions... I just can't
I officially forgive UA-cam all the rubbish they do because of this recommendation. I haven't encountered the concept of overlapping lyrics before and although at first I had considered it weird, now I'm mesmerised. I love it. I. Love. It. And, of course, the costumes, the paint, the people, they are all so beautiful and epic!

recently discovered this band bc of Joey Batey and I've never heard anything like them.

Man, I love this song period but something about the woods and the cold and the little girls running around doing their thing makes the whole feel extra defiant and raw. Thank you, this must have been so much work, but it gets more amazing every time I come to it.

Как будто песня из сказки. Необычно и волшебно🌟💫
Great song!

Dobra, kupił mnie! 😍😍😍😍😍
I found TAD through The Witcher and I can’t think of another time I have fallen so quickly and completely in love with a band.
god i adore this song so much :) i literally dream of them singing at my wedding though i know it's impossible haha!
‘Our devils broke rank, and out of the depths came an army’
Watching two people I care about on a battlefield called a breakup just makes this line hit so hard.
I just can't stop listening to this!
GOD the buildup to the explosion of the first group harmony is SO GOOD
that little girl is having the time of her life
I don't usually comment on videos but I had to, I recently have to deal with a rough break up because I had to break up with my closest confidant and well it's not pretty, also I didn't handle the situation as delicately as I should.
I can't wait for Joey and Madeleine's next work, and thank you for sharing your *amazing* work to the public (haha get it amazing because amazing devil ok i see myself out)
Will I ever stop tearing up at the end of this video? Even though I've seen it countless times already? Probably not
Holy shit, this came on randomly and I'm like "That sounds like Jaskier". So I looked and....it was Jaskier. I didn't know he was a singer too even with a voice that good.
I would actually love to go camping with them... I'll carry everything, ya'all just do you.
