Steel Battalion is a fantastic mech game in it's own right, but the best part about it is the controller that came with it. It's three feet wide, has 40 buttons and switches plus three foot pedals. You can't play the game without the controller, and they are not cheap, as you can imagine. But if you can afford it, it's the single best experience on the original Xbox.

But it would definitely be cheaper and more convenient to have just one system for which every game is released. But there just seems to be enough gamers for all Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo for them to put out their own consoles, so we'll either have to choose or get them all.
If you meant you don't understand game collecting in general... this is our culture, our artform. Preserving it is important by itself, but playing old games also is very nostalgic for me.
I did pick it up, but I did some cleaning a while back, sold a few games and that was among them.

Depends on what kind of games do you like and what other systems you have, but I'd say these are the best exclusives for the Xbox (after Steel Battalion, of course ;):
Otogi 1 & 2, Panzer Dragoon Orta, Jet Set Radio Future, Star Wars KOTOR 1 & 2.
Yes, I'll eventually get to those as well, though maybe at the end of the year once their successors are out.

When I saw this in my subscription box, it made my night - thank you so much for going through your collections again, I LOVE these types of videos ^_^ PLUS, the Original Xbox is one of my favourite consoles of all time.
Loved the original Xbox, went to buy one when they first came out and couldn't find one at any of the stores in my town, so I picked up a PS2 just to have something to game on. One of the stores that I frequented a lot finally got some in after a few months and they held one for me, bought it, took it home and I was hooked, sold my PS2 that same day and bought some more Xbox games with the cash. Still have it to this day. I have a 360, a Xbox one and I play my original Xbox the most, it really has some awesome games.
you can give all those games to gamestop for $3.00!

This took an hour just to show the covers, so don't really have the time for anything more in depth. Plus I don't have a capture card, so footage would only be so and so.
If you take all those games to gamestop you will get 10.00 CREDIT 2.00 cash
And if you have a power to the player card you get 5 cents extra ;)
That's why I learned to hang on to those games. They won't give you anything for them anyhow.

They just don't appeal to me as a collector. I don't have a single Platinum/Greatest Hits/Player's Choice game in my collection.
Nevermind that comment, they've just made everything back to what it should have been in the first place. :)

People collect consoles and systems and vintage games for the same reason people collect vinyl LPs,vintage stereo equipment,or antique clocks: because it is a part of our collective history.The reason I still play games on my original Xbox is that great graphics do not necessarily make a great game.I have an Xbox 360 and yes there are great games such as the Bioshock series, but games like Beyond Good and Evil and Black are great too in their own right.Hope this helps in answering your question.

Okay when i was younger maybe in like 2004 my dad bought me an xbox and got me some games, like spider man and other games... but there was this one game i loved a lot, here are some things i remember about it. The main character was a guy, he lost his memory and was an agent of something, there is this strange guy always talking to him, you never see this guy, you practice in front of a mirror shooting and stuff. A woman is your partner until she leaves you to fight these monster things,at some point in the game your arm glows and you get the strength to fight these monsters also i remember a helicopter shooting at me through with window and umm.. OH i got life from drinking from vending machine. id love to find this game. thanks
I used to play spider-man on the ps 2 and loved it and only realised you could get it on the original xbox so I brought it and wondered if it would work on the 360 ( seeing as I didn't have a original xbox) and it works!
Surprised you don't have Chaos Theory. That game was incredible. I wanted it back in the day for PC but never did get it and when I finally got a 360 it was one of the first few OG Xbox games I bought to go through using the backwards compatibility functionality. Since then I've picked up the actual console (many games suck on 360 especially the KOTORs) - I'm up to 96 games with almost 120 on the wishlist still.
Absolutely fantastic collection there; I didn't realize Sega released so many good games for Xbox. I will check em out. There are a few titles I didn't see that I would recommend to you such as Destroy all Humans, Fatal Frame 2, Ninja Gaiden Black, Red Dead Revolver, Red Faction 2, Stubbs the Zombie, TMNT 1 and 2, Tenchu, Thirteen, and Wolfenstein.

Great stuff, thanks for sharing your collection mate. The Xbox is an interesting system, with some stunning games, most notably Halo, Panzer Dragoon Orta and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. A fair few have aged quite badly however, unlike the best games on the Gamecube.

By what we know today, it whould make it impossible. Games only work with online checks, not offline. So when the Xbox One is no longer profitable, Microsoft will shut down the servers making the games unplayable. I can't buy any games for the Xbox One until they have assured that that won't happen. An offline patch is certainly possible, but how about the cloud stuff? That content will not be made available later on for sure.
Not to mention the practical death of used games, but hey.

Wow, you have Panzer Dragoon Orta? Excellent game, still one of my favorite intros on the Xbox games. The close up of the girl in the dungeon is very haunting. I agree, Jet Set Radio Future is just plain fun. You have me really curious about Otogi, I am going to have to look for those titles. Thanks for sharing.
You probably have heard by now, but if you haven't, you'll be glad to hear that Microsoft went back on their decisions... You'll be able to buy and play any used game you wan't (with no extra fees) and won't have to check in online every 24 hours!

I was too young to support my gaming habit back then,I missed out on so many good games.
xKingx16 Get an Xbox emulator, download the electronic format of the game online, get a Xbox 360 controller for Windows, and you can play most of these games for free, or at a very little cost. This will save you from buying the games, which are $5-$10+ each on average, which adds up.

a very nice collection. I'm currently looking for new games to buy for my xbox which I just got working properly again due to the tray jam problem. It works perfectly now. Regarding games, I highly recommend X-men legends and x-men legends 2 rise of apocalypse. They are great story based games with nice rpg elements. Also Scarface if you like GTA, Scarface is awesome. NFL 2K5 is a must play. The game looks amazing still when you have the xbox hooked up with a component cable. Also Spartan: Total Warrior is very fun.
The Timesplitters series has always been one of my favorite FPS games. Brings back the memories

No "Beyond Good and Evil"? ... interesting. On a side note: Riddick Escape from Butcher Bay is still, IMO, the best game tie-in to a movie. Lastly, everything you said about Halo 2 is spot-on. What a game for that era.

Great video! I was wondering though, is it still possible to play Phantasy Star on Xbox? I saw the game at my local game store for 10 Euros and was wondering about it. I guess it's cool to have as part of the collection anyway, but is any part of it at all still playable today? Thanks!

The only old school console i have is the snes, i got it just to play smash tv (best game ever) i also have a ps1 just to play my favorite game ever (Destruction derby 2)
But if you have the xbox 360 i wood highly recommend a game called (PURE) its a quad bike raceing game.
For years iv considered it the best sleeper game (A game that was not on my radar but then turned out to be amazing)

Xbox one has rid themselves of those policies. No more always online, no daily check ins, used games will be the same as the Xbox 360 "No restrictions" You should check out their site for more info. The fans spoke and they listened. A little late but, better late than never aye?

PS has had way better exclusive games during the last two console generation :) FFX, FFXII, KH, KH2, Heavy Rain, Infamous, Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank, Jak series etc. PS has wider variance of different genres.
Glad to see you love Jet Set Radio Future, Finngamer! Easily my favorite Xbox exclusive! A lot of people always go on and on about how good the first one on the Dreamcast was but I think that one has aged really poorly and is a pretty sloppy game. Future still holds up amazingly well to this day, though. :)
As of now, Halo 2's record has been broken by Overwatch
GTA: SA on Xbox actually came out 7 months after the PS2 version FYI and not simultaneously like you said. KOTOR I got with my Xbox in Christmas 2003 and it became my favourite game for it! Spent 60+ hours doing all the side quests and just loving the dialogue between characters etc!
I think a lot of asmr folks agree, finngamer has a naturally relaxing voice :) Also cool to see MS grovel and backtrack on their ridiculous "always online" policy ... good to know that they have no choice if enough people say "we will KILL you (with abysmal sales) if you insist on this". Maybe I'll be buying an xbone after all...

retrogame master64 Yeah, in the 360/PS3/Wii generation sealed games are pretty plentiful, but they're somewhat rare in the Xbox/PS2/GC generation.

Didn't know Housemarque were Finnish! They made one of my favourite games of 2011 in Outland, which if you or anyone who reads this hasn't tried, I highly recommend it!
