When in doubt…throttle out 😂 Love it!

ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. The cinematography. The storytelling. The risks. The suspense. The beauty. The food. The laughter. The mad skills you have in every department to pull this off. You two deliver on all fronts. I hope this video goes nuts on the view count. It deserves 100K!
Thank youuuu!!!🙌🏻🙌🏻
@@SlowRoamers you kids are nuts and deliteful! Thank you for the journey!
Wooohooo! way to show that trail who's the boss :) great job with the video.
Haha! I told you I’d do it!🤣 I want to go back, but definitely not taking the van. Thanks for watching, amigo!
👍
Excellent music editing too. Great job. 👍 Rock on 🙂.
Thanks so much and thanks for watching! 😊😊
The last minute was… well let’s just say breathless. 😮😮😮
Also yes to rock sliders 👌🏼😆
That’s possibly my favourite part of the video. 😁 Probably still won’t go with the sliders just because $$$$ and we just managed to get the van down a couple hundred pounds.
So good folks! You are a huge inspiration for me for video quality and story telling. Keep the adventures rolling!
Glad to hear it! Thanks Dave, we’ve got lots of adventure to come!🙌🏻🙌🏻
WOW! I watched Chrome and Foresty Forest try this, and it was certainly scary. However, to watch the two of you, scared me even more, although it also was truly exciting!! The scenery is something that is truly amazing, and I thank you for taking the time to share all of this. Simply amazing, and I can't wait to see what is next. Be safe and enjoy every minute!!
Glad you enjoyed it, Jackie! Thanks so much for watching. We’ve still got another exciting episode ahead following our exit. Stay tuned for that.😉

2wd !!! Nice! Beautiful location.
You betcha!! A truly magical location for sure!😁 Thanks for watching 🙌🏻
Chevy world runners ❤
Bahahaha, I’ll let Matt & Stacey know.🤣
Seriously epic wheeling Alex! That torque converter has its work cut out for it on the PAH.
Pretty epic. Love your build. Definitely agree with the motto of a 2WD with good tires airing down, and some recovery gear will get you 95% of places you want to go. You are proving it.
Yep, trying our level best to show instead of just tell.🤣 Thanks for watching, Calvin!🙌🏻
I remember when @thestorytillnow came through this trail in their $100k jeeps lifted on 1ton axles and 40inch tires and hardcore music… lol… then here’s you guys dancing through in the 2wd camper van! Priceless
😁😁😁 and we went in the harder direction. Thanks for watching!🙌🏻
@@SlowRoamers I enjoyed watching & subscribed! Great content.
@@romeropostali520 most excellent! Thank you!
When I did this trail in 2021 there were multiple landslides and washouts considered impassible. I was the first one to navigate through them, by myself, in my Jeep. The trail is a lot easier now, but back then, this van wouldn’t have made it an hour into the trail. Yes, we have heavily built vehicles. They are not built for just one trail or situation, they are to get through anything. When we did this trail again last year, we also did several side trails that, if attempted by this 2wd can, probably would result in the death of the driver. Props to these two for making it through the trail though. Drive whatever you want, just go on adventures, and be nice to people. No need to be haters.
@@TheStoryTillNow no hate here, buddies comment just made me chuckle. From what I’ve gathered the trail changes a lot from year to year and the difficulty of the trail changes also dependent on time of year. I thoroughly enjoyed your episode when you did the pass on the way to AK, it was a great watch. Happy trails.✌🏼
Great video of my old tramping grounds. I grew up when 4 x 4 pickups were seldom seen. Mostly the Forest Service even the logging companies just had 2 WD with locking diffs. It's nice to see a person showing what a 2WD is capable of, although for most of the area it really was easy going.
Little joke from a kid that grew up in the area and use to skinny dipping in those glacier fed creeks and lake. We always said to make sure you tied a string on it so you could find it:) I think you know what we meant.
Yeah, most of the way was fairly easy, although the hill climbs in the van were a challenge for the van. Could have used a transfer case for sure.
I most CERTAINLY get the joke.🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wow...
Again you never cease to turn a cozy Sunday on the couch into a hair raising, white knuckling the remote, biting my nails, action packed adventure. How has Chevrolet not reached out to you and not personally thanked you for the Express capability footage.
You Sir, Mam are true expeditionaries.
Good work, stay safe, stay on the road.

Hehehehe, so my cinematography is working in other words…?
Mission accomplished! 🤣
I found your channel a couple episodes ago and I am glad I did. It seems you 2 are one of the few UA-camRS who actually live the Van Life. I enjoy your videos. Sweet van .
LOL, we certainly try! 🤣 Glad you found us, thanks for following along!🙌🏻🙌🏻

Love the video and glad to see people enjoying a place in my backyard. That being said locals appreciate when the name of a trial isn’t mentioned to prevent large crowds of tourists.
I hope you enjoy the rest of your trip north!
Fantastic video. The views are awesome. I enjoyed watching it. Thanks for sharing. 👍546

I’ve been through Telkwa Pass on a quad. I can’t believe you did it in a van!

Absolutely amazing! Everything about this video! Best one yet.
We thought the same!😁 Thanks so much for watching!
I like you guys… really wish I could watch more of your videos. Have to skip through most of it though because it’s just too dang stressful. Can’t fathom how you both remain positive throughout… Best of luck you guys.

Hey, it was nice to meet you guys at Top Lake. Funny you mentioned Chrome... I met him there the day he couldn't get through. Thanks again for moving the boulders. Can't wait to see if you made it.
Y’know, I thought that was you!!! I recognized the Tacoma. You’re quite welcome. I wasn’t sure if people would appreciate the clean up or not, some like more of a challenge…so it was a hit or miss. Thanks for watching!
Awesome video! I've been through the Telkwa Pass many times on ATVs but seeing the bird's eye view from a drone was great. I just wonder how the next hill past the lake went.
It’s a great route. Stay tuned, next section is on Saturday at 9am.😉
That’s a sturdy swing out!
The sturdiest!
KILLER VIDEO ❤ and I am so glad I turned around at that hill because it was just a few days after that… my transmission went in my van. Could you imagine it going deeper into that trail. My gosh sometimes you just have to trust that gut feeling. ENJOY YER JOURNEY
Thanks Chrome! Yeah man, it was steep, steep and only got worse, you’d have been up shit creek without a paddle. Thanks for watching!
Man, that was a pleasure to watch. Brought me to tears in a couple points. I've been traveling around in my van for 3 years this July. Just made the journey up to Alaska last month. It's so cool seeing your footage. I know what you mean when you said you can feel that you're North. What a treasure. Great job guys.

I cannot believe you two took your van through the Telkwa Pass! I am pretty familiar with this trail and have done it a few times with an ATV but would NEVER attempt it in a vehicle. But after seeing this ... maybe it's not so bad! LOL. LOVE your adventures and cannot wait to see the conclusion to this video ... because I know what lies ahead.
Hahaha, that is the very sentiment that we get from EVERYONE we talk to and tell about taking the pass. We’ve had a lot of, “WHAT?!” Next episode is on Saturday morning, it’s a good one!😉
You guys are so cool…
Naw, you’re cool.

I remember the episode w/Simon hitting up this spot. Haven't seen the one w/Chrome yet. Epic spot! Great video!
Those two episodes were basically the only intel I had going into the trail! LOL. It really is an incredible spot, well worth the work to get there. Thanks for watching!
It's a chill trail ..... Lmao.
Although I don’t disagree with you, it’s considerably less chill when you’re in a heavy, full size, 2WD. Thanks for watching.
I could comment on how much i enjoyed the scenery, the cinematography and drone footage or maybe the editing and choice of music etc, but i wont.
Ill just say 1 word. Epic. That is all. Simply epic.

Thank you!!
Fantastic video Alex! You capture those views so well!
Thanks Sam!😊
Guys you need a gmrs radios to communicate while doing offroad fun!
Luckily we have two…but don’t use them unless we’re in a convoy.
I REALLY liked your idea of dropping in a tranfer case just to gear down ...makes a lot of sense. I guess 19.5s aired "down" to 85 psi just arent gonna cut it. Lol. I singled out a Quigley cutaway to 19.5 railroad rims. Cant go below 85 or so. Lol. Incredible job. That was amazing... gotta say, i am liking two spare tires.😮 that's REMOTE.
That’s the only thing we’re missing now for sure. Two extra tires is a lot of extra weight, weight is the silent and slow killer of vehicles. Keep that in mind.😁
@@SlowRoamers i just embrace the heavy. ..and plan for it. I run 19.5 tires for that reason and don't/haven't done your "rock crawling" ...its impressive for sure.
So good! 👊
Thanks man.😊😊😊
Freakin' epic guys! Making us want to equip the ol' chevy for more rugged terrain 😅. Reeeeally getting excited for the journey north. Safe travels out there, but more importantly, keep having fun. Also, the drive looks sweet but Meg's cooking... C'mon 🤤
lol! Once you catch the bug, it’s hard to keep your wallet full, so be careful!🤣 That good cookin keeps us fueled for all the rock rolling we do.
I don't know if I've ever messaged you, however chains on a two wheeler are amazing, I drifted a old farm truck up a frozen solid road up into the hills.
There have been a number of people who have suggested this. I may try them one day. I’m not sure if they’d really help in this instance since we have all the traction we needed, anything we lost would be on account of loose rock.
Woof! This route had me VERY worried for our little home 🥲
Nice work gang. Enjoy!
INCREDIBLE. Possibly your best video to date. You're now in the filmmaking business! Nail-biting suspense. Top class cinematography.
Same here, but I’d never admit to it.🤣

Built the steel tower 500kv powerline thru there in 1974. Got to see it all from a helicopter and 4x4 , beautiful area.
Daaaaang, that’s so cool! We’d have loved to see the area back then. Thanks for watching!🙌🏻
Attempted this at the start of June in my Forester and got held up by snow. I will try again soon.
Right on! A smaller rig should make it through easily. You’ll be low enough that the tree tunnels wont bother you as well. Good luck!
Super worthwhile effort! Made it to a place that's seldom seen.
Plus kicked over 12.1k subs!
Heck yeah! Some of the best things are free, some of the other ones you gotta work for.😁

Sounds like you had a rough ride through there. It’s a tough trail in a full-size rig, not for the faint of heart. Thanks for watching!🙌🏻
Just to put this in perspective, in summer of 2023 four South Indian city boys who had just moved to Smithers did the Telkwa Pass in a 2003 Explorer that still had its winter tires on because some of our coworkers told them it was an easy trail. Because it is. It's a trail, not a road, but is far from difficult and is literally a "Honey, I'm goin wheelin, will be back by dinner" sorta run.
That said, thank you for shooting some killer video of a stunningly gorgeous area, as my photography sucks and I'm always trying to make clear to people just how beautiful it is, so now I have good reference material.
I honestly don’t disagree with you, it’s not a hard trail. If I had been doing the trail in my Toyota pickup for instance it would have been a total cake walk, easily completed in a few hours.
The difference is weight, size, gearing & 4wd (assuming they drove it in a 4wd Explorer) and direction of travel. Our van is 8700lbs (100lbs over factory gvw), 2wd and 8.5’ tall, not to mention it’s literally our home with all our possessions inside. It was a challenge getting the van up some of the steeper hills and i was continually surprised that the trans had enough grab to keep on pulling us up. If our rear wheels had spun out we would have been stopped and likely turned around. Arguably we did the trail in the more challenging/ steeper direction and the tree tunnels were pretty dang tight. It felt to me like a genuine adventure and I had a lot of fun.
I’m glad you enjoyed the views and that you now have a reference video to display the beauty of the area. Thanks for watching!

The inside passage is definitely on my bucket list, although I would most like to do it in a small cabin cruiser. I lived up in Telkwa for about 18 months and did an expedition that began with a trip through the Telkwa Pass, and ended with a camp at Work Channel Inlet, the exact opposite way you guys went. Work channel was and still is one of the most epically beautiful camp spots I've ever been to. The pass was a challenging and interesting trip in my 99 CR-V with a 2" lift and big tires, so props to you guys for making it in your 2wd van! Our current family vehicle is a 2005 Chevy Express, which i think is the same as yours. I moved to Alberta two years ago, but part of my heart remains in the north of BC. Absolutely love it. Cheers!
Radical!🤘🏼 that had to be a lot of fun. The Toyota RAV4 and Honda Crv are surprisingly nimble vehicles. BC definitely has our heart. I lived in AB for about 10 years and have some fond memories of it, but definitely realized how much I missed BC while I was there. Thanks for watching!🙌🏻
All those backroads were mining and prospecting routes first. The miners and surveyors used those routes to scout out stands of wood and the roads become logging roads. There was enough gold found locally that from the late 1890s to the 1930s that basically signs of prospecting especially are everywhere. I live in Terrace and have spent quite a bit of time exploring the back woods around here.
Also good time to do the pass all the major backroads around here have had some work done on them or people on side by sides have been doing work on them.
The Telkwa pass was impassable when I was young for years because of a wash out or three.
Also get a THERMACELL. They work for biting insects. I take mine out all the time, its a requirement around here.
Think that slide you climbed up was the major issue if I remember correctly. It blocked the road and as you can see in the video they built a road over it
Very cool. Thanks for the bit of history. It’s a super cool area and we’d love to explore it more, it’ll just have to wait a few years at least.

Awesome spot, impressive the old Chev made it in there, a lot to be said for some good tires and that winch paid for itself, I hope you managed to pull your straps off the rock on the way out.
Hahaha, the winch is honestly paying us! Meg won it in an IG giveaway.🤣 Some OHV drivers actually pulled it out for us. They had to put two winches on it to get it out. They found us on the trail, thanked us for moving the boulders and handed the strap back. I was stoked, that’s not a cheap strap!
