This is great, thank you. I had to laugh at how fed up this man is with all the other tutorial videos out there. I'll definitely give this method a try.
Excellent video man - thanks for this. I'm a newby but learning fast. Got a Giant, Asian, Praying Mantis nymph who's taking large fruit flies. Anyway, I'm using your recipe. Thanks again.
Thank you for simplifying this. Brewers yeast is impossible to find in a store. And spirulina? Really?! That stuff is SO expensive. I would much rather do this.
Haha great video! Thank you for this very simple recipe. I was looking at the cost of brewers yeast and spirulina powder and was discouraged until I watched this video.
Thank you for this video! My fruit flies multiplied like crazy eating this, I was able to expand their population starting with only one store bought jar.
hi I was wondering about calcium dusting to control mites or is that a gimmick i can see this way works for you and that is great very simple and direct 🎥🐸👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😁😷😇🌹 👵🐟♎🕊🙊🙉🙈 well I try sorry I'm 59 and I like emojis 🤔🤓😎🤐🌞
When your driving do you go down to the house with the big tree and turn there and then go past the gas station I think the 7-11 but keep going… if you get to the bridge turn around you went to far… cross over that big parking lot and at the end you turn…. Keep going couple blocks and turn again… there was a white building they were painting but I’m not sure what color… but right after that that’s where your gonna turn again…. Go couple miles 2-3 might be 7 but any way your gonna know where you at and right after that is where you wanna be
I must have done something wrong all of mine I put with this mix died 🥺 it looked like there were clear larva on the insides bit timeline says they would have hatched if they were viable. Is it supposed to smell strongly of vinegar?
Think I figured out what I did wrong and so far I am now having success 😅. Never did I think I would ever get so excited about seeing fly larva 😂 Thank you thank you for making this video
Just get it for this. Also if you enjoy baking, powdered milk is great to make loafs of bread! Powdered mash potatoes can be used as a thickener in some recipes. Oats is somethi g people use but can increase mold growth
Is that water mixed with vinegar? Also can you bag this and put it in the freezer for later use? I know you can with the mix that has brewers yeast and beer.
This is easier to work with. For example, if your Potato is 4 cups, or 400 grams, just ratio them. 2 cups or 200 grams Powdered Sugar and so on. Alternately, just mix your dried ingredients in an airtight container and store them in a refrigerator. The liquid you can prepare later (i.e 1/2 vinegar 1/2 water in a vessel, add to your cups with dried media until a slosh forms).
Great recipe. Really easy. Thanks for the reality check on how hard this is
I have been using this recipe for literally 8 years and it's fantastic. Never molds, doesn't stink and produces very well.
This recipe was the king of “let me eyeball it” but worked so well !
my hero! i've been grieving over the cost of keeping darts and it's been holding me back from buying them!
a shopping bag???? this man is a genius
Found your video 2 weeks ago, immediately tried it and wow this shit doesn’t smell disgusting and it produces like crazy
what ratio of water and vinegar did you use? I must have missed something because this did not work for me
Hi from England 🏴 Very grateful for your super helpful - and affordable - clip on making Fruit Fly media. Much appreciated. 😊
I tried it and it works crazy good! I had jars full of flies!
This was the most straight forward video I’ve ever seen ..

Brilliant!! And thanks. I saw some really weird stuff. And kept looking. You are a master sir!!
I like the method of using parts - I'm teaching ratio at the moment and this is a really handy way to make it practice. (my class has frogs)
Thank you for this video. Im going to try your method next.
Used this with two starter kits from pet smart, now I have four jars booming!! Gonna have separate them today !Thanks bro!
Excellent video man - thanks for this. I'm a newby but learning fast.

Thank you for the upload man.a lot of people do make it a lot more expensive than it needs to be
Haha great video! Thank you for this very simple recipe. I was looking at the cost of brewers yeast and spirulina powder and was discouraged until I watched this video.
You explain stuff very good to make it easy
Thanks!! Going to get these simple supplies from the dollar store!! I appreciate it! My ghost mantis thank you!
Hallelujah a good Chanel
Thank you for this video! My fruit flies multiplied like crazy eating this, I was able to expand their population starting with only one store bought jar.
And it smells like cinnamon oatmeal! Not nasty like some of the store bought jars!
what ratio did you use, maybe for the vinegar and water?? mine all died, no visible mold either
10 years a frog dude! Yup I'm takin notes. Subbed
Im trying your method right now. Hoping it goes well. Other cultures I've made have produced mold.
Simple and cheap. Thanks man
Thanks for simplifying it.
Thank you so much for this. Dead simple, as it should be.

😂Yup!
May I ask what was in the cup when u poured the flies into each culture?
It was most likely calcium powder that you dust them with before feeding to your frogs/lizards. He probably uses that same container to dust them.
Thank you very much for saveing me and a lot of people money its 11$ for one where I'm from im about to start saleing them lol
Why is this man so angry about flies? 🤣
does it matter if it's non-fat milk or not?
Yes
I like this video and I'm wondering if this is Kevin Malone.
Cinnamon does 2 things it repels mites and helps stop fungus
how come you're fly's aren't jumping around?
4 cups of potato
2 cups of dry milk
1 cups of sugar(but in this video he is using 1/2 cups of sugar?)
some cinnamon(about 1/4 cup)
Thank you for posting the measurements! It wouldve helped more if they were listed in the video.
Do you know why use Cinnamon ?i don’t understand why use it

Does anyone know how long this culture would last with this recipe? (Before needing to start a new culture?)
I never buy powdered mash potatoes or powdered milk. Wondering if I can use something else.
Just get it for this. Also if you enjoy baking, powdered milk is great to make loafs of bread! Powdered mash potatoes can be used as a thickener in some recipes. Oats is somethi g people use but can increase mold growth
How many fruit flies per cup are you putting in?
Is that water mixed with vinegar? Also can you bag this and put it in the freezer for later use? I know you can with the mix that has brewers yeast and beer.
Did you try freezingit? Did it work?
Does this work for horn worms too?
I cannot find plain instant potatoes, do they need to be plain?
Yes. Do not feed them flavored potato mix.
@@azerosblank5036 thank you. I’ll keep looking. Seems I have only been able to find flavored or buttered ones so far.
Thank you for replying.
Aldi sells it real cheap :)
I saw some flies get out ;)
SCORPIO! Yeash~
What unit of measurement is "parts"? tf?
It's whatever you need it to be. As long as you stick with the ratio, it doesn't matter what you're measuring with.
It’s a normal thing people say when sharing recipes. Lol It’s a way of telling you the ratio and you decide how much you want to make.
