This works great and I have some tips: TIP 1: use an old turkey baster to remove all of the fluid from the reservoir before you begin. TIP 2: once you get the clamp off the hose take your pair of pliers grab the hose and twist breaking it free from the reservoir, then it will just slide off. You don’t have to pry it like in the video. Just be careful not to squeeze too hard and break the plastic exit from the reservoir. TIP 3: some models have a second reservoir for the ‘Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control’ so you will need twice the fluid. Same process to flush.
Hi, Thank you so much for this video. Excellent, simple and informative. I just did the change today and my son helped me. I should have gotten the plugs, but it wasn't too messy. The plastic water bottle must be crushed in order to fit in there. I also used the tip of using DW-40 to remove the return hose which was very helpful. I didn't find CHF 202 in my region, so I got CHF 11S instead (I read and found they are very similar). At least much better than the stuff the previous owner had in there.
Big Thanks to you I just bought a 2004 Porsche Cayenne it’s at rebuild Porsche to a slow going vehicle i don’t think you have these in USA but in Sweden you can buy and rebuild a car in to a slow going vehicle that you can drive when you’re 15 however I heard a noise from the steering and I looked it up and this video helped me get this fixed under a hour
I need to do this for my Audi Q7. Is this how a dealer or indie mechanic would be doing the flush? Or do they have some kind of mechanical flushing equipment? Thanks!
Jonathan L no Supoosedly you have to change the reservoirs, as they have a filter inside it I did it that way in my cayenne turbo (with pdcc, so two reservoirs)
I haven't done it yet on my 997. I don't really think I need to just yet. I imagine the procedure is similar, but I have not looked into it. Thanks for watching and hope you're subscribed!
Hi Car Fanatic. I got 2008 4.8 Turbo and my Cayenne smoking badly from rear right exhaust. Do you know whats happen? Cylinder pressure its 11-12 bar at all, AOS New, I suspect Oil in Air Filter
Really making your life hard. Just suck the old stuff out of the tank. Refill. Run the engine and turn the wheel a bit to mix the tank. Repeat 3 or 4 times. No mess.
Do you think you got the old fluid out of the steering rack itself when you were doing the start/stop cycles, or was it just going through the pump back to reservoir?
Start by check the power steering fluid level. If it is good, you could try bleeding air out of the system. If there is no air in the system and you still have difficulty, then you could have a bad power steering pump.

Your second tip helped me a lot. Many thanks
Thanks for the videos. I recently picked up a 955 and will be coming back to your older videos when needed.
Guess what, I'm back. And the rack is leaking 😢
If you're doing a PDCC flush/reservoir change, the new reservoir is delivered with plastic caps that work well enough.
Good video. This will come in handy for plenty of people for a long time.
You are the man! Just aquired a 955 turbo. Your videos were such help! Thanks again for taking the time to make them!

Thanks for your very helpful video. It took me only 40 mins today to replace power steering fluid in my Q7.
Nice, congrats!

Just did this on my 957TT
GREAT video
Technique worked perfectly
I would add: make sure to have 3 bottles of CHF just so you can do a thorough flush
Thanks for this video very helpful and perfect step by step information 👍
i'd still do the left -right steering with engine OFF in order to get fluid moving through the ends of the steering racks and all the valves
The hardest part was to find a friend 😕
What is the ID of the return pressure line that you took off? I'm wondering what size plugs I need for both the hose and the fitting on the reservoir.
I see you and others use CHF11S or CHF202 (both synthetic) but on the reservoir it marks only mineral. What am I missing?
I got a 2007 Audi Q7, and I have air bubble in my steering fluid reservoir, what will be the solution?will flushing and replacing be the solution?
Shoulda just swapped the entire reservoir. On my 958.1 Turbo it calls for replacement every 60k miles as it has a filter inside
I need to do this for my Audi Q7. Is this how a dealer or indie mechanic would be doing the flush? Or do they have some kind of mechanical flushing equipment? Thanks!
Jonathan L no

Isn't there a PS drain plug @ bottom left of radiator?
Great Video, this is going on my list at the next oil change. At 180k on my 958 Turbo
How is this one on your 911?

will it work? it seems like pretty much doing the same thing
@@chrisgandhi6463 it is, minus the spills and messing with hoses. I just suck out the tank and refill every 6 months or so, keeps it fresh.
How do you get the air out of the system?
By turning the steering wheel side to side
Hi, no need to replace the reservoir?
Nope, not unless it's broken.
Do you think you got the old fluid out of the steering rack itself when you were doing the start/stop cycles, or was it just going through the pump back to reservoir?
Nope, entire steering rack 😁
@@CarFanatic Thanks for clarifying. What say you about doing this on your 911? I've got a 997.2 as well, an '09 currently at 41k miles.
I might. I need to check on the condition of the fluid. I believe it's still good.
What is the diameter of the return line to add a longer hose?
Not sure but it's probably around 7/8"
Hi, my cayenne 955 steering is on the heavy side, almost like driving with flat tyres. What would your process for diagnostics be?
Start by check the power steering fluid level. If it is good, you could try bleeding air out of the system. If there is no air in the system and you still have difficulty, then you could have a bad power steering pump.
@@CarFanatic thanks pal.
Where is the second tank?My 957 Turbo S has two tanks for Power Steering Fluid. Second one for PDCC
@@balthazarbratt8194 I thought, all 957 turbo has pdcc
@@ВикторЕльчанинов-д6ч Standard on Turbo S, optional on Turbo
Can i use also chf 11s?
Yes you can. CHF 202 is the successor to CHF 11S, but they're interchangeable.
Better than nothing, but it requires to swerve L & R so the dirty fluid also comes out..
Why do you need to change it why not just add???? Confused
It's old fluid as you can tell from the color. Just a preventative measure to avoid issues later.
@@CarFanatic ok but where does the old fluid go?? Meaning if I don't drain it where does it go??
@@willywonka077 its going into a water bottle...
