What I see that being best for isn't as a winch at all. It's as a transmission for small tank-steer RC models. Ant weight battlebots, 1/35 and 1/25 static tank conversions, stuff like that.
Last week I bought a couple of cheap servo and I discovered that they don't stop after some degrees...but runs forever in one direction ore the opposite... After the first moment I thought it could become...a winch and I I build it from scratch...arriving to something really like your ! Now the question is: where can be mounted on the crawler's chassis?? Can you explain us ? Thanks in advance and a lot of appreciation for your ever interesting videos!
You can mount a winch in front (normal) or in the back so long as the winch line has a clear path. If there is no clear path you can use tube to rout the line to the front.
Dude I knew that was coming out especially when all these 1/24 scale 118 scale crawlers blew up. Just wait till the portal axles become available for the 1/24 and 1/18 scales. Can’t wait
What type of radio did you use? I got a 360 servo, and it does not spin, rather just makes the same 120 degree turn, no matter which channel it's plugged into?
All that but no testing? Gotta be able to deadlift at least 15 pounds. Sometimes the rig is bound-up or stuck in mud. I'd swap that big bulky winch line for 50 pound Spider-Wire fishing line.
Has anyone been able to put a bigger spool on...so it can have a longer winch line? I like the 99 winch but been having a issue with line not able to be longer..
If you were able to fit a larger spool it may not have the juice to pull it. You can use a DSM Kinetic line on the end to get a bit more distance and still be workable as a winch plus the bungee effect. Several locals do that.
Too bad it's expensive. Ended up going with a cheap Ebay sail winch servo. I'm quite motivated to design and sell my own sail winches because there is so little competition and prices are outrageous.
Both awesome and irreplaceable for their intended use. This is a bit more scale, DSM is lightening fast. Winch can get you over fast, DSM is a bit more tricky to right a truck. Hope that helps.
Well if you mod a $20 servo to be a winch, make a spool from a sewing bobbin free, buy a spool $15 or so, then the controller you can be at $60 very easily. I have more in much bigger hard to fit servo winches.
@@ExocagedRC You make my point for a cheaper Mini Servo, if there was any argument for, it would be a powerful and fast winch, Reefs are great and that is one of the torqueiest and fastest Mini servos there is. Hence the $$. Ren "Stimpy you fool that's half the cost of a new Deadbolt" ha ha
When I got in to RC I told my self I'm going to have one. On ALL my rigs!! And I do..
COOL cool cool 👍

Whoa now that’s neat!! Build it man I would love to see that!!
Oh hey yes. All kinds of potential uses.
Oh man it’s strong. You’ll see soon
Can't wait to see it in action!
It’s up for members now
That looks very handy.
LOVE REEFS Servos!!!
O.o
I want this for my lightweight rig! So cool.
Great video!
Definitely cool.

It’s going in my mini crawlers
I just can’t get into them little trucks for some reason
Great set up 👍

Wow man. Holy NICE. 😍
Oh man that is awesome! 👍😃👍
You should put this in a scx24 🤣😂🤣
I got it in my SCX24 and I couldn't be happier.
@@fernsolo i only laugh cuz ive never seen him use one i like them and i would
I tried to fit it in my scx24. Went to make mods and make it work but I just can’t get into the small ones. It just sits on the shelf.
@@ExocagedRC you can send it to me lmfao 🤣 im just messing

Oh it does that and more. I’ve tested it now. Should see it soon
wonder if this would fit on an scx24?!
Not sure about that. I’d guess it can be done if you really wanted to
Why is my billet for the line not fitting on ? I just opened it

I want one
Is it awesome? How truly awesome is it? Its awesome but is it awesome awesome?
LoL it’s pretty awesome! I got it mounted and tested today....broke my truck....
@@ExocagedRC awesome
Can't find them nowhere.
The overall height spec. Says 1.08 is that including spool?
Servo with spool is 1.44 Inches, so the 1.08 is the servo itself
@@ExocagedRC tks

Dsm vs winch?

I meant make a video.. Like u did with rear steer and dig.
Hmmm
Sweet servo.....but the mount defeats the purpose of being small😎
$60 servo winch, nah.

I would love one for my Axe, I must admit
