Eee Rog, what a hoot man. I’ve said this a million times but you and me are the same person, both in our young days and now. You all looked like you loved working there and did as much as possible to have fun. Thanks for another hilarious video.
I bloody wish I'd worked with you back in the day, Roger. I was always messing about in my Saturday job at Woolworths. So much so, they sacked me!! 🙄 Another fab video, but where was the other girl that you used to work with? She was in the other Littlewoods video. She was really funny. I'm guessing she'd left by then. Thanks for sharing, a time when life was just better.
It's true that some things were much less strict but also in those times other things were much stricter. I got sent home from a Tescos store I worked in for having white socks. The manager would come by and tell me off for wearing white socks, I didn't have any black ones. He sent me home once for wearing them, he actually lifted my trousers leg to check. This was 1990.
You weren’t allowed to have tattoos on show at Littlewoods and one member of staff was told to tone down her make up. This particular member of staff stood by her guns and said that she was employed by Littlewoods wearing her make up as she wore it then and wasn’t going to change. I was also told I couldn’t grow a beard.
@RogersBitsDoings yeah I remember things like earrings on men and definitely tattoos would have been a no-no. It was much more conservative in many ways back then but other things they were more relaxed about. I remember being told I had to shave too. I don't think a beard would have been tolerated.
That’s when guys and gals weren’t afraid to be themselves. Though I sold diamonds for a prominent U.S. jeweler at that time and needed to mind my p’s and q’s on the floor…we associates were up to serious shenanigans before and after hours. I went drinking one Friday night with two of my female workmates and consummated with both of them at the same time in the middle of the night just hours before we had to be back for Saturday morning meeting at 8 AM. Believe me…it was unbelievably awkward…not to mention suffering with my grinding hang-over!
Amusing I am surprised you managed to get away with it, and what wonderful working chums.

Had Claire left by then? She was in the video from 1989. Don't recognise any of these colleagues from your previous vid from 1989.
