Why would Marley be in Hell? The whole point of his character was that he was eternally damned, not to Hell, but to Earth as a ghost. Either the Spirit of Christmas Future or a demon should be the one welcoming Scrooge to Hell; or Marley should be showing Scrooge his future self also as a ghost in chains on Earth.
It was in the Theatrical Release....I remember I saw it as a kid in the 70s....but when it came to Network TV they cut it out for some reason....
Yeah, TV didn't want to show that scene...
just watched this lastnight , one of the best adaptation's of scrooge
This has got to be the best scene from any Christmas Carol adaptation!
I loved this scene as a kid. 💀😆
One of the best scenes from any Christmas Carol rendition!
Some might say that scrooge's heart was finally unlocked and the flint finally let out generous fire at last
Scrooge, got taught a lesson
Yup!
This scene was in the original at the theater when it came out.
Yup, and wouldn't show it when aired on television back in the day.
Alec Guinness is my favorite Jacob Marley because he has the most screen time for one!
Good point!

Maybe just to show Scrooge around, (since no-one else wanted to)...
@OpenByChance Good point
I have it on my dvd
Was this the version that was released in the early 70's?
Yes..
Correct, 1971 I believe.
