🚨ResMed Enables 'Trojan Horse' Microphone In AirSense11
Вставка
- Опубліковано 28 вер 2024
- 34 months post-launch, ResMed has unveiled what could be seen as a Trojan Horse-an internal microphone cleverly dubbed an 'acoustic sensor.' Initially, this feature was hidden under the 'device diagnostic' setting, ensuring it was just to monitor internal device sounds for optimal operation.
However, with the latest OTA update, a new setting called "AcousticSignal" mysteriously turned on by default (🖕) , now captures "sound characteristics from the mask." ResMed states - "No sound or speech is transmitted by the device", but are they recorded by the device? Does the device record the noises you make during sex?
ResMed claims this feature will help develop new functionalities, but here’s my take: I paid for this device-it’s mine, and so is the data it collects (not according to ResMed). I’m not comfortable with the idea that ResMed can modify the functionalities of my device or opt me into experimental eavesdrop features without my explicit consent. This feels creepy and intrusive, unlike my other tech devices, which ask for permission before updating software. I felt violated.
What happened to good old-fashioned user consent?
Please let me know what your thoughts are. Am I overreacting, or is this a bit much. Cheers

The fact they opt you in by default is enough to annoy me and turn it off (and lose respect in the company).
The auto update, auto opt-in and with no info on what they changed in the update (you have to go looking for it) is creepy as all hell. Thank you for your support. Cheers
@@CPAPReviewsThis is Google Assistant all over again!
Another device that constantly "listens". It was revealed a year or two ago that in fact, audio data was being sent to Google's Dev team so that they could "make the assistant respond better."
What a creepy world we live in!
Yes!! That's the worst of it!! Thanks for alerting us, NIcko!!
Microphone = violation of Privacy
Your smart phone does this too
@@bobdobalina798 It's a violation as well. It's one of the few things our government SHOULD be doing to protect our privacy. instead of being part of the problem/violation
Your iPhone has been listening for decades....you have the option of trading in for a Samsung that will listen to you too.
I feel like this type of invasion of privacy is becoming the norm. More and more we hear about small little ways that companies are eroding our privacy, and we ignore it thinking "Oh that small thing doesn't matter", but those small things have been adding up for decades now, to the point where something like this almost seems routine. Likely nothing will be done about it either until ResMed has a massive data breach that they "forget" to report for a month or two, and even then likely a slap on the wrist. Really disappointing =/
some might say the invasion of privacy is 'creeping' up on us! 😜. In all seriousness though, you're 100% right. It's incremental and activating a microphone remotely and automatically authorising access to that info is pretty high up on this list of invasions. Cheers
You can have all that tured off , but it's still listening...Apple was in a lawsuit about this, but they won right to listen in an save the data.
People have this hard time with coming to grasp that everything wants control and power over you. Because they keep asking why and they don't understand why. Whatever the reasoning is, it is up to you to make sure they don't gain the footing. These corporations like to double dip and make money off of what they already sold you. You're data is worth a lot of money.
You are right that’s weird, clearly a violation of privacy . Thanks for sharing this information.
Thank you
If they told everyone that the microphone was there and could turn it on and off, that would be one thing, but to have this completely secretive? That is a complete and total nvasion of privacy. Shame on ResMed.
That's an excellent point and i think that was the point i was trying to get to (sorry it took 10 minutes). If they just came out and said, 'hey we have this microphone, it can't record any voice and we use it for X,Y, Z to improve your therapy and if you don't want to opt-in that's fine' i would be more than okay with this (even though i don't trust them and would opt out). When you try and cover it up with BS terminology and activate it behind my back, that's when i get suspicious!
Speaking of microphones, your voice clarity and quality in this video is exceptional for being outside.
thank you!
Oh f*** no, no no no no no please! That is an invasion of privacy.
It's even more than that. They are actively modifying and turning on settings on your medical device so they can mine more data. That's crazy shit
That was a beautiful spot. Thanks for the view!
Thank you
All our devices listen into us even if the companies deny the fact!
Easy to say "oops, here's 2 years of credit monitoring" for a company that does something wrong.
This is why Open Source is very important, even in our CPAP devices! It's much harder to understand the firmware without it being Open Source. (You can decompile it and reverse engineer the assembly, but this is difficult.)
Oscar is a good Sleep Therapy program as well. And its totally free.
Free as in GPL version 3 license. (Which is mainly free, you should just know the details.)
So lovely to see the Island again. My family is from Phillip Island and spent ever school holiday's there as a kid. My parents/grandparents/aunts/uncles etc are all buried at the Phillip Island cemetery 😳 Haven't been there for years. I believe it has changed a lot, especially Cowes. Gotten a lot more 'touristy' than I was used to.
Thanks for that great info on this, I think you are spot on with your thoughts. Nice view for the walk, a change of scenery for us that live in the limited water AZ desert
Glad you liked it. Cheers
Technically a pressure transducer is also a microphone. They've had a microphone in nearly every CPAP ever produced except really old models with no pressure regulation. 😆
Wow, I'm so glad that they did this! Now I can order replacement CPAP supplies and other stuff from Temu while I'm talking in my sleep! I'm going to try and link it up to my Amateur Radio next! All the Best! 73 DE W8LV BILL
hahaha, do it!
Total breach of privacy no matter what they say....this could be a class action law suit based on the option of not allowing us to opt out.
There's an advancing trend in the 🇺🇸 US to eliminate ownership of things & to "lease" everything to you. In addition to rent seeking (which is the primary purpose) leasing allows corporations to retain a much greater degree of control over your life.
Don't take off the tin foil hat just yet. People have been so focused on government invasions of privacy that they forget about the equal/greater threat of corporate invasions of privacy.
"Just because you aren't paranoid, that doesn't mean they aren't out to get you."
Thank you brother. Appreciate the great insights. Cheers
Nope, not over reacting. Sounds like a new video is needed to snuff it out for those who value their privacy.
I doubt they are doing anything nefarious with the audio, but that's not the point. It's the after the fact part that they are turning this on without direct notice to the customer with a device already in someone's bedroom. One of the most private of places in ones life. Not cool and big lost in their public trust in my opinion.
Thanks mate, i think you hit the nail on the head!
You’d think ResMed would’ve sprung for Auto-Tune as well, but no.
You are entering the sights and sounds welcome to the twilight zone, I'm sticking to my airsense 10
I'm surprised they don't have a camera in there also. (Or do they?)
Well they do have a 'light sensor' on the top 🫣
The Western Australian Black swan? An hardware problem can't be fixed with a software upgrade... unless it's disabling it
Could be but i live in Vic so would be a long way to fly. According to ResMed it's has something to do with the power delivery so couldn't they modify the firmware in a way that changes how power is distributed / used on the device?
Maybe they changed it as this video was three months ago, but mine was turned off.
I opted me out for now, maybe? I need to go to the sensor and coat it with a blob of silicone to make sure. On my airsense 10 I ran 2 units. One with and one without the phone circuit. You are not wrong. By the way, beard is looking handsome!
Thank you for the love. Needs a little trim :)
So I've seen this kind of thing used in mission critical machinery situations.
It's possible to use machine learning along with the sound characteristics to predict when equipment is close to malfunctioning before any other signs noticeable by humans.
They use the subtle changes in frequency and amplitude to understand what may be happening in the machine.
In this case that may be the cpap/mask interaction, I don't know how that actually works, but this gives them a treasure trove of real life machine information and how they are. This could enable things like, "Hey, it's likely your machine will break down prematurely, please schedule a repair." So something more than an arbitrary blower hours life span.
They don't have an interest in "recording" you.
Got the update two days ago, today I was googling because I just saw the acoustic thing in the menu. Hate when they don't tell us the updates and what they're supposedly doing. It doesn't even let you know what they update and if you want it. NO, you're right. Many times after this machine came home, my calls hang up or I have no signal at all. Sometimes it lights the menu when nobody is touching it, especially when I'm finally able to make calls. I thought I was being thinking on conspiracy but these events had been too much already. Now this update which I didn't allowed nor asked for. This is really not for sleeping apnea only, this is something else and it's a medical conspiracy just as the one we had in 2020.
Yet another reason to get the AirSense 10 over the 11!
Air10 CDC is the way to go. It can't connect to the cloud. Cheers
Resmed should be obligated to tell the user in a clear and easily understandable way what data is being collected, why it is being collected, and provide an option to opt out of some are all of it. Unfortunately, in today’s world, end user data, has become a profitable product and in spite of any assurances by companies like Resmed, the end user should have some level of control over what types of data he/she is willing to share with the company collecting our data.
Hi Nick, did you or anyone of your subscribers know what substance located inside AirSense 11 Side Cover???(!!!). I just bought it a few days ago and being curious opened the cover up... There is a big piece of a regular mattress plastic foam. Inside the fresh air breathing device??? What about humidity and bacteria that will grow inside once we start using it? Please advise.
Hi mate, yes it's the same sound abatement foam that's used inside the AS11. Polyether Polyurethane i believe.
Ok I have a home security system it’s got cameras with microphones on them a little bit of wind and they become distorted. To a point.
I don’t have an airsense. But from the looks of that microphone placement it has all the air pumping straight past it.
That mic is tiny there is no way in hell it’s gonna be sensitive enough to make out anything discernible from outside the machine. While I’m not an expert my guess would be it would detect the high pitch whistles from a mask with a poor seal. And maybe the reverberation from snoring
First thing I did when I got my Airsense 11 was put it on airplane mode. There's not much cell service where I live anyway, so there's no firmware updates.
Thanks for the video. It was excellent. I also appreciate the info on the software update as well. As a new CPAP user is there any way to force the new software update? Thanks.
Anytime, there's currently no way to 'force an update' even if you are a clinician. ResMed has full control over this functionally. The only way to 'stop and update' is to keep your device in airplane mode. Cheers
So does the RedMed 10 do this ? Or only the 11?
Just the 11...i think
It's definitely an unwanted invasion of privacy. I think they get to listen to some whale song tonight.
Has anyone looked up the microphone specs to see if it has the range to pick up human speech?
I've gone looking for it but can't find anything that looks like it on the market. Custom KGB gear i recon. Can probably reach your neighbours bedroom also 😜
Definitely a privacy issue by not disclosing it. I will be putting the unit in airplane mode when I get home, at least it won’t send data to ResMed. No telling if it saves what it hears but at least it won’t connect.
Thank you for this information.
Anytime
Surveillance everywhere! First Resmed Airsense 10 got in to 7 year mark nagging hours 'contact to your sleep care provider'. I wanted new 10 instead of 11 and got one today with 4g modem in it (I will take off the modem cable from this one too). Hospital sleep-nurse said everyone wants now 11 and they haven't encountered one who still wanted 10. Some people like "when it goes to 11". I think 10 is better now when they fixed the humidifier chamber leaky design flaw.
you are not wrong... settings regarding the collection of data, video/audio, etc... should never be enabled by default. Period. Even the transmission of the sleep data should be disabled by default and require end users to acknowledge and consent to the transmission of the data.
Thank you, i'm glad you agree. Cheers
As a software developer myself it really seems weird that they can fix a hardware error code with just a software update. Best case they maybe mask an error that is not really an error... Would definitely check with people who had the error before if functionality wise everything still works regarding the humidifier, heated tube... As for the acoustic thing, I don't know if they can legally opt you in by default in every country, some laws probably are dependant on the country you live in.
I still have the 4600 10.7.0 version on my 11 in the U.S.
They update the software over a few weeks so keep an eye out. Cheers
They figure if the car companies can steel audio so they can to. At least it's not as bad as the new cars downloading all your information out of your phone when you're just trying to use the charger cable or the radio, all the companies are invading privacy trying to see what they can steal to sell
^steal
I will be keeping my 10 until it dies after hearing this. Bloody secret microphone!!! Dodgy as f. Cheers
Cheers Johnny boy
Ohhh dear me!!
I didn't know about the tiny microphone lol 😆
Me neither!
That sounds like an invasion of privacy. That's f***** up @@CPAPReviews
I mean…. It’s pretty cool Batman and Morgan Freeman are in my CPAP machine…. 🤷♂️
This idea that these companies are free to violate our privacy is insane! Especially here in the states. Bullshit!
My old Hoffricher Trend II did also sends sounds en listen to the reflections for analysis.
I don't trust any large corporation anymore. OTOH, I can see how this could be beneficial. Perhaps people are turning off the mic on their phones and they need to fill in the gaps! Some people may not have a current tv to listen to you, there are gaps in peoples lives we need to fill! Somebody should analyze the data being xmitted back to them. I would feel better if they would have informed consumers about the mic and I understand why they kept it on the downlow, lotta conspiracy theorists out there, I mean smart thinking people who are figuring stuff out! Thanks for the info!
truth i just changed masks yesturday and didnt tell the machine what mask i was using magically my machine knew this morning that i had changed masks
spying on us i'd turn it off
Maybe keep your machine on airplane mode? except for a quick data download then just keep the signal off most of the time. EMF is known to suppress melanin and disrupt cells at 60 times per minute.
I am more outraged than I've EVER been in my 69 years of living. Stupid me. I don't even know what machine I have but as soon as I'm finished with my comment I'm going to go check and if there is a mic I am going to see an appeals court judge who happens to be a very close friend of mine to see if there is any legal remedy. As a judge he is not able to practice law aside from is duties as a judge. However, if there is a legal remedy I'm certain he will personally accompany me to an attorney he will recommend. Not as legal rep but rather to talk about his first hand knowledge of my character and credibility
Ii hear a class action law suite coming!
Without notifying the user of this "feature" BEFORE enabling it... WOW that is invasion of privacy right off the bat!
There should have been a message and an option to enable it and NOT have it blindly enabled from the start with NO warning!!!
Shame on resmed!
This is really funny to me because I have ALWAYS thought how easy it would be for ResMed to do just this exact thing!! Hard to trust ANYONE these days!!! So....Mick....can we turn this off?????
Well there's an option to toggle it off. You'll also need to toggle off the device diagnostic which turns the mic off. Cheers
THANK YOU!!!!
Yup, it was there and turned on! I've disabled it.
I'm also calling BS on their claim that they are ONLY listening to the mask and not voices.
BS. It's a microphone! Mics pick up whatever is there!
Voice other ummm.... sounds during certain times....
This is a clear VIOLATION or privacy rights!
No one gave them permission to force enable this mic!
Lots of apartments where I've lived, you didn't need any microphone to hear pretty much everything the neighbors were doing in their bedrooms. Walls might just as well have been paper.
You're welcome. I agree with you and i think the clever wording 'No sound or speech is transmitted by the device' speaks volumes (excuse the pun!). There is a big difference between the words 'transmitted' and 'recorded' . Either way, ResMed has no interest in what we're saying in the bedroom (i can't think of any reason), they've just figured out a way to turn sound data into money. According to Sexy Mick, ResMed is a 26 billion dollar company and the majority of that is the data set. Cheers
@@DianeRuotsalainen-ne8cr Yes but you opted into that.
Creepy yes.
6:43 For mask, why not just put an RFID in the mask, and a reader at the end of one of their fancy hoses with wires in it? I'm sure this has probably already been thought of by their R&D engineers at least once.
because people use masks from all different brands. That's why the data set is so messy. I'm sure each mask will have a unique 'fingerprint' that ResMed can use to identify what masks are being used with their devices and then ultimately the performance, noise and all other features of those masks. They could then also target those users who are not using ResMed masks with marketing material etc. Ie, did you know if you switched from your F&P eson mask to a ResMed N20 you could achieve a 20% greater seal with a 10% reduction in noise blah blah blah.
@@CPAPReviews yes true, but I'd bet 80% or more people use the mask from the vendor that their machine is.
@@CPAPReviewsThey won't just sell masks, they going to sell part of that data to your healthcare provider by increasing the charge, and they will also use it for personalized healthcare plan - they can tell this patient won't use CPAP long term - sell that data and get a cut of the sales for other products/therapies/services related to sleep - basically they still made profit even when CPAP is returned. They will use it as a prototype to make newer masks and copy cat masks of leading competitors.
They want a monopoly and only they hold the cards. The invested in the software to improve CPAP compliance already - future CPAP machines will have that data.
Certain types of breathing patterns are a gold mine - it's called dysfunctional breathing - that data can be sold to different healthcare specialties that treat those issues.
The use of Nasal Cannulas and AI tech already determined it patient will be eligible for inspire instead of CPAP.
When AI was first used for mask fitting the information was not given to consumers directly- only clinics, DME, insurance, and the company had the information. Mask Fit AR was the first to give results to consumers directly without insurance or doctors or DME involved.
Just connect a NONIN wrist Ox BLE to any bare bones CPAP machine and no need for AI no need for algorithms. No need for RESMED!
Non-trusters of smart technology vindicated again. My CPAP has the modem physically removed and I knew it was the right choice.
Hope you didn't break a copyright by showing that Batman clip. But I'm not worried about the microphone. My Alexa devices have them and so does my iPhone, and computers. People are always so nuts about all this kind of stuff and yet they have no issues posting everything about their life on social media. So yes, you are wrong. No need to be so paranoid. You used to talk about how great ResMed is and now you don't have confidence in them? I'm confused, because they are the best CPAP machines on the market.
Thank you for your concern, but it’s alright for me to share this content-I’m aware I can't monetize the video with that clip included, and I’m okay with that. There’s a clear distinction between a device with a microphone and one with a microphone that can be remotely controlled and activated without your knowledge or consent. I believe most would agree that the latter raises significant privacy/moral issues, but of course, you’re welcome to hold a different opinion.
Regarding ResMed’s reputation, it’s worth remembering that the best today might not always hold that title-think of Nokia, or how I once praised the DreamStation. Times change, and with them, my understanding of all things CPAP deepens significantly each year. These days, i look to the insights and feedback from the CPAP community as a whole to guide my views and the feedback on the AirSense11 has been mixed my videos are a reflection of that feedback. Cheers
The creepy creep of data mining. You are not overreacting in my opinion. As consumers, we are led to believe that this trend is for our benefit and some ways that is true, but the missing ingredient is consent and the practice is ubiquitous. Unless governments regulate on behalf of their employers (taxpayers) in ways they are directed to do so by their constituents, I have no idea how or when this will end, but it will not end well.
This is F’n nuts. You are not overreacting. They won’t stop until they have total control over us. In every way.
The ResMed CEO openly admits that of their 26 billion dollar market cap, 5 billion is hardware, 5 billion intellectual property and patents etc and the remaining 16 billion is all respiratory and now sound data scraped everynight from your environment.
@@CPAPReviews Absolutely crazy.
Someone's getting a piece of electrical tape over their little hole
Weird. This wouldn't stop the sound vibrations, you'd just need to amplify them. Think of it like a drum, you haven't stopped sound from passing through. If you removed the sensor from the board, maybe. But again as I've already said, your machine has other pressure transducers which can essentially work like a microphone. Disable all of those and your CPAP won't regulate air correctly.
@@fitybux4664 Note that it would void your machine's warranty if you removed that microphone. Whatever you do, proceed at your own risk.
I'm 28 and started CPAP therapy a couple months ago. I'm pretty tech savvy and I didn't even think about the possibility of a microphone being inside. Thanks for the info and the wildlife mate! I'll go check that setting now!
Cheers buddy, yeah an i think that speaks volumes! 99.9% of users will have absolutely no clue that there's a live mic in the room. Cheers
If even us millennials are mindboggled by this Cyberpunk shit, what hope do the rest of the generations have? f'kin bonkers shite
I just spoke to two Resmed licensed sellers here in Alberta , Canada and neither knew anything about a mic being installed and turned on by default. Both outlets will be contacting the Resmed rep to get more information.
We'll have an open discussion. I'll talk, you'll listen. Man I gotta use that
Haha, it works great with my kids....until they don't listen 😜
@CPAPReviews kinda the modern equivalent to the genx - "I'll kick your arse until your nose bleeds" - even I wasn't dumb enough to test that one
No, you are not wrong! We have no Alexa, Siri is turned off, Google assist (or whatever it is called) is turned off.
The black swans are gorgeous.
Appreciate that, yes they are very beautiful, elegant creatures! Sometimes they move across the water in a single line and it's a wonderful site to see. Cheers
You are not overreacting. I'm from united states
You are not wrong and you are not crazy. Digital surveillance data banks can be connected using personal digital IDs to create profiles. AI will be able to know everything about you. Maybe some data collectors have good intentions, but the results will allow some with bad intentions to control and dominate people. We’ve gone too far to turn back; we’ve traded our privacy for convenience. I’ve grown used to breathing at night. If I want to stay alive in bed, I must comply. And by the way, I suspect the opt out button is a trick. There is no off button: it’s just an illusion. Next they will enable our machines to test the breath in our masks when we exhale!
Yeah that's very interesting. I actually just opened up my brand new AirCurve 11 for the first time and they send out the devices with the microphone turned on.
Share this with Louis Rossmann. His entire channel is dedicated these types of discussions. I am sure it also used to detect race, gender, age, how many people live in the house etc.
You'd just need to know the location, then you can infer almost everything you just said. Location is trivial to figure out with the cell tower ID, which their cellular modem would have.
Gonna send him an email mate. Cheers for the heads up. I do love his channel, his big ass chair and his cat lol.
You're not overreacting, that's nuts! I'd open it up and remove the sensor. They think they have the right to listen to me sleep?
If it's part of a feedback loop that helps regulate the air flow, that would be a bad idea. Best just to disable any RF communication instead. (No cellular, no Wi-Fi.)
I'd like to think that ResMed meant well, but yeah, automatically opting us in to microphone monitoring without consent is definitely creepy. 😒

I own and use AS11 and THANK YOU for letting me know about the microphone! Toggle OFF now… cheers mate!
Welcome!
@@CPAPReviewsthanks for letting us know about this, what they’ve done is just plain dirty
Glad this isn't on the 10 model.

I just turn off the 4G modem
same, airplane mode everyday.

Device update 5
Release date:
The week of April 15, 2024
Release #:
SW04600.11.8.0.0
What’s new?
Humidifier Firmware Update
Provides software improvements intended to help reduce the occurrence of humidification error messages.
AcousticSignal
ResMed Air11™ now supports an optional toggle, AcousticSignal, which uses the acoustic sensor on the device to capture the sound characteristics from the mask. The sound characteristics from the mask are processed on the device into a digital signature which is then sent to the cloud. No sound or speech is transmitted by the device.
The collection of sound characteristics will aid ResMed in the development of new features.
If users would like to opt-out, they can do so at any time by navigating to the ‘More’ menu from their device Home Screen and setting the AcousticSignal toggle to off.
I agree with your concerns. If I bring my phone into my room, I know what I have with me. But them putting a microphone in my cpap without letting me know it's there, then turning it one without even bothering to tell me about it. No thanks.
Thank you!
I have 8 Echo dots in my house. The spies hear what I want them to hear
You are entirely correct!!! The journey toward a "police state" begins with barely perceptible steps, one at a time. Eventually all those tiny little steps that people pass off as no big deal, become huge giant steps, and leaps, leaving people asking "How did we get here?".
No sound signature on the new F40. That thing runs deep, runs silent. Love that new mask.
That's great mate, if you have a spare moment could you please complete a short survey about the mask? - cpap.review/airfit-f40-feedback . I'm about to do my review and trying to get as much info as i can from real users. Cheers
Hopefully this is brought to the attention of the Privacy Commissioner.
If this is truly the way it sounds at this early stage before all the facts are in, there should be fines imposed of a sufficiently large scale to deter this type of sneaky underhanded practice.
i pretty sure i smell sarcasm but according to ResMed you are 100% correct on the 'valuable' part. It's worth around 16 billion in fact.
If you toggle the microphone off, can they turn it back on remotely? If so, how often should one check the setting?
Why can’t we just put some low level noise next to the machine…ie white noise etc…would that would mess up their data?
Would it change the way your machine runs in any way, if you removed the microphone?
No!
Is it possible that Resmed is using the mic to detect snoring or mask leaking? Those ocean swans are really cool! Australia has the most amazing animals!
Agree with you !!! I don't think you're overreacting. Let users know and clearly explain what it's being used for. And provide the option for users to opt out. Informed consent and choice is important.
Auto opt - in is BS, it shouldn't be legal to do that.
Cheers bro
Now I’ll have two microphones sleeping with me ☠️ my iPhone and Airsense 😭😭
Interesting 3some. I turn my phone off during the night.
But of course its listening during the day.
Brother, duct tape over the hole and three pints will fix that problem. Cheers.🍺🍺🍺
We enjoy your nature walks......hint.
Duct tape works as a drum. Sound still gets through, you've just decreased the amplitude.
@@fitybux4664 I don't think they get it Uncle Nicko.......pints all around! Cheers.
I purchased a airsense 10 with no cell modem and pulled the cell modem on my dreamstation the day it arrived.
Totally agree with you! We should be made aware of this and advised that it’s turned on and that we can opt out.
other products like Samsung tv are doing the same thing, they download their shit on your tv without your permission.
not overreacting. we should all react like you otherwise we lose our freedom to big corporations.
But I don't have Alexa, Google Assistant, or any of the other AI/assistant. So why would I be okay with this? This in the US is wire tapping at the worst and eavesdropping at the least.
Consent is the key word. When the default setting is opted in, is where I immediately draw the line. If you want to explain what you're doing, and why you think it's important, and then allow me to opt in, then I'll take a reasonable look at it. But the lack of consent is a huge red flag.
A microphone combined with WIFI....hmmmm....it could make me wonder. However, I already have a house full of echo devices, network surveillance cameras, webcams, and an iPhone, any one of which could EASILY be used to spy on me so I don't care in the least about this feature with ResMed. If anyone wants to monitor my boring home life it wouldn't hold their interest for very long; if my bedroom walls could talk they wouldn't have much to say, LOL
What would we do without u mate? Thank u for all u do. On the news the law suit for Phillips was settled. Of course, Phillips admits to nothing & said they never hurt anyone.🙄🇺🇸👍🖖
How.about this now that cpaps have flopped and all the shite they caused.
You'd think stock would take a hit.
Theyre probably only going to produce their other products.
Harder.
Their stock just went up.
😳
No you cant make it up.
I just just read an article.
Thanks mate, i read that and was gonna do a video on it but it's too depressing but not unexpected.
Sounds like the "fix" was like the Apple iPhone 4 Antennagate issue where holding the phone "wrong" was causing the cell signal to drop. Holding the phone in your left hand was the wrong part! Apple supposedly fixed this with software, not sure how software could fix a hardware design fault... but there you go. They changed the design and offered a bumper case to those affected to help with the problem. If there is a problem with how the AS11 ClimateLine tube connects to the device, software won't fix it.
Cheers Michael, either way, they have pushed something up! God only knows
Can you turn it off?
Even if you do, no guarantee it won't just turn itself back on...
@@technoman9000 just have to find it, & keep checking it
@@bluelionfur7252 weird how the average user thinks that somehow a toggle switch reflects the state of what software actually will do. (It could do it anyway and show that it's off. Not saying that's the case, but unless it was Open Source, you'd never know!)
How is this legal? Unbelievable.
