Great shopping and cooking! Your soup looked delicious. I save my bones and make a big pot of “bone broth” then I pressure can it into pints and half pint jars . I simmer the broth for an overnight usually about 24 hours then strain bones out, cool, put in fridge overnight and skim off fat, reheat and can. I do a lot at once then done for many months. If I have the meat and veg then I make soup at the same time to be pressure canned using the broth so it’s shelf stable and ready to eat and saves that important freezer space. Lol your sausages were a blazing hot deal. My goodness 4.50 for 2 pounds?? That 2.25 a pound when most sausages are selling for 7 dollars a pound! 😳. Smart to ask for more! Enjoy my Friday morning video with coffee every week. Thank you! 😁
@@deedream10 Those sausages were a phenomenal price. When I realized just how good, a quick peek back into the Food Hero app to see if there were more. Whoop!
Hi Melanie 🤗Giggles at the limp carrots. I like the taste of savory too 😋 We have had the same crazy weather in Ontario - it's either heat wave or rain! All your meals looked so good. I'm craving a nice spaghetti so I will make some soon. I always enjoy that kind of meal after a long day out bike riding for 4 to 5 hours.
@@sharoneastwood3377 lol....soup is just good. The handsome one says he doesn't like to eat soup in the summer. Lol. But he eats other hot food. Like hamburgers, steaks, stir fry. So silly!!
So excited ! Was at Loblaws in Ontario and just browsing around and I saw a clearance pkg of chicken 5 breasts $9.37 with 50% sticker with 3 days till expiry. Started looking around for more and they wheeled out a bin with tons of pkgs so I ended up with 7 pkgs. reg price was $58 and change paid $28 and change for 35 large boneless skinless chicken breasts. The reg price was good but with 50% off crazy good. If I had more freezer space I would have bought more. The worker said they had 500 pkgs they were trying to get rid of. Plus the Starbucks at this store is closing so got coffee beans 60% off, a French press and a couple of mugs at 60 off. In the right place at the right time! love it!
@susanchoja6800 That is phenomenal. Whoot. Whoot. I really just feel that if you see good deals, and you can swing it, buy buy buy. Buy big on the deals. Everything has gone so crazy with prices that you are helping your future self by stocking up! Well done.
Congrats on the contest win! I wish Summer Savoury was more readily available in Manitoba. If you’ve never tried it, it is amazing. I would try to grow some myself, but there’s that whole I’m never allowed to have plants again courtesy of the SPCP - Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Plants. I haven’t looked maybe I’ll get lucky & Amazon will have it. I’m sorry Handsome One but you are crazy. I would understand not liking soup if it was yucky soup, but Melanie’s soups are amazing and delicious. I am going to have to try those pickle dogs. I live in an apartment so I don’t have a barbeque but I’ll bet they would work great in the oven. 🌭🥓🥒
@BrowneyedGirlmjd Pickle dogs would work totally fine in the oven. I know you can get summer savoury at the bulk barn. I do like my Farmer John's. I should check out the Costco price, just to see. Really, indo like supporting my local privately owned businesses.
The canned beans were a good deal. I buy the dry beans and cook in the pressure cooker, and freeze them. The low or no sodium canned beans are great to have in the pantry for quick meals. I’ll have to pick some up for the winter.
@leeanne8651 I use dry beans when I cook baked beans. We've grown them in our harden two different years. I like canned beans for those times when I spur of the moment, decide to make something. It was awesome because they had all the varieties in stock. Whoop, whoop!
@@adventuresingroceryland Yes! I just can’t justify buying the Mitchell soup mixes, so I cook up the beans and freeze them in smaller size bags for soups. I’m glad you showed the low sodium option, because they will be great for when I haven’t defrosted any beans. I also cook up and freeze rice with the beans after I saw the price of it bagged in the freezer section.
LMAO Those meatballs look burnt to a crisp on the video! hahaha Im sure they werent but they do look it. Its been hotter than Hades AND humid here in MN too. Just today it cooled off and rained all day, but its still humid as heck.
