Thank you. Im having the same problem on my 05 jeep with the 4.7l. Same warning lights. Seems easy to fix. Great video.
I had the same problem. Something I wish I knew. Maybe everyone knows this and will laugh. But when the ABS light comes on. Things like EPS, traction control.... will shut off, because it depends on the the ABS working right and there might be nothing wrong with the ESP or 4wd. So chance the codes for what is broke first. I replaced the rear ABS wheel and sensor and all the light on the dash went off and ESP and TC started working like normal again. If it says the trans temp is high check to see in the ABS is plugged in all the way. That happens when a signal is lost. Good video. It really got me going down the road to fixing my 05 Jeep GC. Its fun to drive again.
Thanks for your comments glad my video provided a lead for you to help with a problem. Yes, loved my Jeep GC. I have moved on to my new ride. 2020 Mini Cooper Countryman. Also Fun!
@@samowens44 Damn that's quite a switch in cars. Glad to hear you like it.
Nice video Sam. Thanks. We also have an 05 GC 5.7.
@Dennis DiMarzio, thanks for your comment. My Jeep is now perfect, all issues are complete. I have a number of videos that deal with all the issues discovered on my Jeep. Hope your Jeep is performing well for you.
Great video!!! Many thanks!!!
Tanks Sam, I have same vehicle I imported from FL, USA to Saudi Arabia since 2008, and mine is HEMI 2005 with 200k. KM very clean, but I have same Issue with ABs and traction, and some time Transmission Temp. High and RPM gage is playing, I will replace the sensors by tomorrow and see how it works, thanks again...
@Mohammed Al-Fara, thanks for your comments. Here is a video that will help with the tranny temp alarm.
ua-cam.com/video/XNVZ0_esn4o/v-deo.html Try what I suggest before you replace sensor. Also with ABS, if it shows Left or right speed sensor, replace both front and rear on that side. You have to drive the Jeep for a little while before the ABS light goes out. It is checking that all is good. Good Luck my friend.
@@rocketscienceracing ua-cam.com/video/XNVZ0_esn4o/v-deo.html I forgot to put it in, I put it in the previous post also. Thanks for reminding me.
Thank you!!!!
Great vid thx
Mine is doing something weird. The red brake light comes on and it wont shift into a higher gear. Mostly 4th and 5th. Any suggestions?
Sounds like Transmission issues. The one thing I would do is disconnect the Positive Battery Term for about 30 sec and then reconnect. The Transmission has a brain control and this will reset it and see if that makes it work. If that does not do it. You need to take it to A Transmission place for evaluation.
What a great video! I will probably save some money changing them myself 😎 I didn't use my Jeep for around 2 weeks. The ABS light came straight away after me attended to take my Jeep for a ride.
So my question is, might be possible that this is related? To long break so the sensors take no readings? I'm going on a ride, and I will update thus message if I have some results.
Update: after very short ride ABS warnings have disappeared. :)
What we are saying to new sensors? Not today 😁
@Arkadiusz Cwik, if the ABS light is on, you should have a DTC code. I have another video that demonstrates how to display the DTC Code. This code can be looked up on line and you will find out what is failing. Click on link.

Hey thanks for the video. Have you had issues with gear shift stuck in park? I’m wondering if these two issues are related as I’m having the same issue.
Sorry no help I know of to tell you what to do. You would need to looking into all interlocks from brake, ignition key and anything else that prevents moving out of park. You may need to Google that question, someone may have an answer.
4wd system service arızasını nasıl tamir ettiniz.ben abs sensörünü yeniledim.abs uyarıları gitti.ama 4 wd düzelmedi.
I have an 05 jeep grand cherokee 4.7L. I have the same two lights on. Service 4wd system. Service electric brake system. The abs on my jeep will literally kick in while driving grinding it to a halt. Has yours ever done this? I've already had 2 sensors and 1 wiring harness connected to the sensor replaced and still doing the same thing. Any ideas before I take it to another mechanic and spend more money? Thanks
No I have not had that problem. My suggestion is to disconnect the battery terminal, either one. Leave off for about 10 minutes. This will allow you ECU TO RESTART and that may clear the problem if it is a glitch. If that does not clear the problem, I think you will have to have the shop guys check you and system. Good luck
Mine did the same. Right on the highway
Back right side
What did you do?
@dustinyamchuk7400 actually I parked it for the winter. Gonna get it figured out soon hopefully. If I do I will post it on here to you. For a temporary fix if you pull the ABS fuse it will disengage the anti lock brakes so this can't happen. You will be driving with regular brakes though so keep that in mind. The abs and traction control warning lights will still come on but it is safe to drive it till you can fix it cause it is quite dangerous when this happens.
Hey there! I had a mechanic tell me the back passenger wheel had a bad abs Sensor. Since then I’ve replace both Right wheel’s abs sensors (back and front) and front driver wheel abs. Still have the same lights on my dash you had..any tips on how to proceed? If the red clip attachment piece broke off but the new abs still pushes snug into place should it still work?
Try disconnecting the battery terminal for about 1 min and reconnect. The Check code may not have cleared. This will clear it for sure.
I installed a timken bearing with a new sensor,3 months later while going from reverse to drive the abs lights came on . Code reads left sensor, I replaced the sensor with a Mopar one and still the abs light will not go off. I have yet to test it.
@Jasmats, take the battery terminal loose from pos term for 5 min and replace. That should clear the code. You also have to drive it a while for the system checks to determine the sensor is working properly. When I changed mine it did not go out right away. Also, you may have to replace both front and rear on left side. Good Luck.
That o-ring (to keep water out) seems pointless after seeing the 3lbs of rust holding the rotor to the hub, lol.
thank you..
Hey there Sam, thanks for the awesome video! Extremely helpful!
Any suggestions on this question: I recently switched all my tail lights over to LED's. Immediately this set off the EBS warning & skid control light. Any suggestions?
Thanks for you nice comments. I will offer some information to help with your LED problem causing. A problem in the lighting system of the car can effect the ABS and skid control. The lighting system is monitored for current flow for a range of proper current to determine that the system is working proper. When you change the lights, this changes the current flow. You vehicle ECU ca see this as a problem. If you can, change back to stock lights. You can disconnect the battery terminal, just one, for a couple of min. This will reset the trouble condition and recheck system. If all is good, all will be just a glitch. You could first perform the DTC code check procedure I show using the key to go from off on thee times. If you get a code Google it to find out what it means. Do this first!! Good luck.
HEATING!!!! Alright... Last night I removed my rear sensor and it was SUPER tight to come out, just like yours... In my theory, excess of heat generated on brakes kind of deforms or "expands" the outer black sensor insulation and damage the circuit board inside, as well... That could explain why the new sensor went in place so much easier then the old one... In my case, the problem occured when I had the caliper stuck, overheating rotor, wheel and sensor... I found out my brake fluid reservoir was filled up to the top, not having volume to get the fluid back inside when the calipers are commanded to release... The HEAT damaged the sensor... Many thanks again for your great video.
