The guy in the crowd is BBK, the unofficial-official president of beatbox. He is a Canadian BeatBoxer champ (Solo 2014 & 2015). And he's a great artist. you will see alot more of him in the crowd doing crazy faces. lol he is almost more known for his faces then his beatboxing at this point..LOL

My favourite from this GBB is Max's solo elimination. Pretty underrated video, and live it was not perfect because of all of the whistles in the microphone, but, oh god, on the video it is so dope!

I love seeing people's first reaction to beatbox! If you'd like to see more and don't mind watching a longer video, I'd suggest you watch "Den BBU22 compilation". He's one of the most musical beatboxers right now. You can also react to one of his songs from BBU (an online competition in 2022) called Twisted Fate if the compilation is too long.

I know inertia won this one but Helium's rounds honestly so underrated, the "counter" he did at his 2nd round when he did the same thing was insane

You’ve been given the biggest battle between the fundamentals of beatbox which most people won’t like compared to the bass king that makes beats everyone just freaks out too but can’t hear the mistakes. Neither of these guys made it to battle this year.. your take is honestly super good and you’re intuition on how helium tried to battle with diversity.: but the sound system was in inertias favor this year. The bass was literally shaking your body

I would also give it to Inertia all in all but just a lil pointer as you‘re new to this. Dunno if you notized, but Helium rebutled Inertia at the begining of his second round. Works the same way it works in rap battles, you take something your opponent said or in this case kicked and flip it. It was actually a big move by Helium which makes this battle closer than u might think, because rebutles are a lot harder in beatbox as it‘s common you aren‘t capable to make the sounds someone else does especially without prep.

Beatbox is still very niche but there is a ton of talent out there. You can pretty much just pick any battle from GBB 2018-2023 and will be blown away by the skill and creativity. Hope you enjoy the rabbit hole! I fell down 4 years ago and haven't made it back haha

Dlow (judge) did an analysis of this video to explain his judging thought process (he actually analized the GBBs all the way back to the KBB to help show his mindset as a judge).
In this analysis, he explains that he was sheer moments from voting for Helium and swung his vote as he was putting his hand up after reminiscing on the energy KA put out because of how he sounded on stage and the connection of his music to the atmosphere of the room.
That switch determined the winner as it was a 3:2 vote in favor of KA. Otherwise, it would have been a 2:3 vote in favor of Helium. It's as close as you can get without calling a tie.
(Ties used to happen that would be settled in a third round, but SBX set new policies to severely discourage it. I feel like if a tie were called and they had to perform a third round, KA might not have been voted due to being so repedative, stylistically, in one battle. It was already borderline with two rounds)
