- A day on Lake Maroon fishing with Owen McPaul the day after the blood moon of 2018. Leading up to the blood moon fished extremely well and had the bass aggregating in some pretty big schools around the lake. We were greeted early with heavy fog and inactive fish on the sounder. The bass were thinning out in the spots they were schooled in but as the conditions cleared the bass became active and we manage to catch em pretty good. Slow rolled soft plastics were bait of choice and the technique worked all day. We did throw a few jerkbaits around but it was hard to put the soft plastics rod down. Its a bit of a long VLOG but I didn't think it was right to split it into two parts. Watch as we catch good at Lake Maroon in South East Queensland, Australia.

I’m from America and this is the first Australian bass fishing video I’ve watched. What type of bass is that y’all are catching ? Do y’all have regular large mouths like we have in the states?
Johnny Dole no mate our bass are not really like the ones you guys have. They are officially called Australian bass but are more like a perch. We catch em on similar baits and techniques to you guys and are one of our more popular freshwater species.
