    We did a 6 months South East Asia trip recently and every time we took a taxi for a long distance we told the driver at the start: We are not in a hurry, drive safe and stop every 90 minutes for a drink and smoke break. The first time we didn't and then they think you want him\her to drive fast.

    Hi August, I have always enjoyed your traveling videos. If you have the means, it would be great if you could go to the less-traveled places in Vietnam (e.g, Phu Quoc, Rach Gia, etc.). For some of us who can't travel to Vietnam, it'd be wonderful to see Vietnam through your eyes and learn more about Vietnam from you. Thanks, August, for another great video.

      Unfortunately I have a really hard time sleeping in cars,planes etc and I find the backseat more spacious. But I totally get your logic and I'd sit at the front for sure if I could fall asleep

    Can you tell me what kind of visa did you get for Cambodia. What were your port of entry and exit mentioned in visa application?

    • @perpetuallyabroad
      @perpetuallyabroad  2 місяці тому

      I usually apply for an e-visa to save space in my passport. In this case the border crossing is Bavet - Moc Bai

    • @suchismitadas9441
      @suchismitadas9441 2 місяці тому

      Did you mention port of exit in application form? Entry is important I know. But I am not sure about port of exit, is that equally important? Or it doesn't matter much!

    • @perpetuallyabroad
      @perpetuallyabroad  2 місяці тому

      For a Cambodian e-visa you don't need to mention port of exit, only port if entry hence it's pretty convenient. So as long as you know your port of entry, there shouldn't be any issues

    Hello, I would like to ask you additional questions about the transportation at Angkor Wat! Would you recommend renting a motorcycle to go to various attractions by yourself or chartering a TUKTUK? Or do you have other suggestions? In my case, I am traveling alone and don’t want to spend too much? Can I ask how much it will cost? The price of a motorcycle or the price of a tuutuk? Or any other way you recommend traveling alone! It is expected that I will only buy a one-day ticket for 37 US dollars.

    • @perpetuallyabroad
      @perpetuallyabroad  7 місяців тому +1

      Thanks for your question! Firstly, I am not sure about how much they charge for renting a motorbike ( wild guess about 5-10 USD / day ). It will be cheaper to rent a bike compared to chartering a tuktuk. I would think chartering a tuktuk will still not be too expensive depending on your negotiation skills.
      Personally, I'd either rent a motorbike for freedom. Angkor wat is not that far from the city centre but you need either a tuk tuk, taxi or motorbike. It can be quite hot driving around in a bike though, that's the only problem I see.
      If you plan to charter a tuktuk ,I'd research a bit beforehand about how much other people paid because they will probably ask for a significantly higher price tag than it should be at first. Good luck

    • @perpetuallyabroad
      @perpetuallyabroad  Рік тому +1

      Not sure what your nationality is but I think they rarely demand to see an onward ticket. They might ask how long you're staying, where your going next but that's it. Worst case scenario you can always buy a bus ticket or flight ticket there. Good luck and safe travels

    Thanks for the video. Do do you know please for sure about which is the last allowed day of the cambodia visa extensions if extension says expiry date 2 august ? Meaning 2 august isn’t an overstay yes?

    • @perpetuallyabroad
      @perpetuallyabroad  Рік тому +1

      Thanks for your comment. Don't take my word for it, but from my understanding it should be as follows: as long as the visa extension process has begun before the expiry date, it's fine.
      Meaning as long as the authorities have started processing the extension, but they approve an extension after the expiry date, it should be fine. This can vary from country to country though. Good luck

    • @perpetuallyabroad
      @perpetuallyabroad  Рік тому +1

      It should be that you're allowed to stay until 11:59 pm 2nd of August, so the whole day of 2nd. But since it's Cambodia I'd check with the authorities since the logic might be different there

    I would like to ask if there is a bus from Phnom Penh back to Ho Chi Minh? If I have applied for a multiple-visit visa for Vietnam online, will I still be charged for the visa? Because we are passing through a land border crossing, is it possible that the border customs/immigration officers are off duty? For example, if I arrive at night and cannot clear customs, I have to stay one night near the border and wait until the next morning before I can enter the country? ! Thanks!

    • @perpetuallyabroad
      @perpetuallyabroad  7 місяців тому +1

      Thanks for your question! Yes there is a bus from PP to HCM, please check out my video about taking a bus from Vietnam to Cambodia, (it's the same from Cambodia to Vietnam ).
      From my understanding and reading Vietnamese sources, the border is open for crossing from 7AM to 6PM. This might not be correct though. I would advise to cross the border during daytime just to be sure.
      If you have a multiple entry visa please print it so you can show the officers by the border. Good luck with your travels

      Not a direct route. You have to go from Siem reap to Phnom Penh first, then change bus there. It's a very long ride and I have done it once. I don't recommend it unless you're on a very tight budget. There are direct flights from Siem reap to Saigon

      Cambodia's official currency is actually USD so usually you pay almost everything in USD except very small amounts. The problem is that sometimes they give you back riel for change. I usually pay smaller amounts with riel like for example a coconut which you can get for 3500 riel which is technically less than 1 dollar. Hope it makes sense. The Philippines sounds cool
