Hi Pete! Thanks for the knowledge drop!!!
Some day I'll figure out the AC vs DC motors. These won't work for Foredom DC (brushed) motors TX and LX. I think the term for these motors you are showing is "Universal Motors". Looks like you are adding to our data base. Thought I'd add that and That Dremel used to make a tabletop controller for these motors. It was for earlier pedant motors as well as the handheld motors so around 5 amp controller. Often available used for $20-30 Fleabay and elsewhere. I've used one with an Foredom CC, reaches full speed '6' I think, but doesn't start until about '2'. In comparison my one of a kind Foredom tabletop starts just above 0...

Yes, Whit you are correct these are universal motors and apparently, but you can't prove it by me, they will run on AC or DC. Maybe I should play with that idea. Interesting about the Dremel speed control. Were those early Dremel single speed? I wonder why the TX and LX won't work with these? I see they are listed as DC motors?

Works good if you set the pedal in line with the dial control so that you use the pedal but it maxes out at the speed you set on the dial

I may not have made myself clear I do not suggest combing speed controls. If using a tool with built in speed control then it is always at max or will damage the tools speed control. I only use the external speed control with a foot on/off switch.
