    When my BP is 142/92 I feel ill and need to take my water pill. My brother in laws BP is alway 190/100 and he doesn’t want to go to doctor. Btw: just ordered mine. It’s paid by my insurance. OMRON has a similar model which is for two people for a bit less except the cuff is connected to digital apparatus via rubber tubing and it has an app. It was out of stock saw I chose this model.

    I have a hard time getting the Omron Evolv to fit snugly on my arm, sometimes if i put it on upside down i get a snug fit. My arm is about 16" around at rest. I thought the instruction said you shouldnt be able to fit more than a half of a finger under it? You mentioned that you used to use a bp monitor that fit more snugly, which unit was that please?

    I hope you're taking BP medication. I had BP problem due to depression. I am taking nexito 5mg and also working out which has helped control my BP. Before I was on telmisartan but I don't need that anymore.

      There is no evidence that blood pressure medication has any benefit on BP around 140/90 . In fact in Sweden they did a study which proves this. The UK has moved the old number 140/90 to 135/85 which is nonsense. It is just another way to tell people their BP is high and that they need medication. Sweden is sticking with the old standard 140/90 and there are many Cardiologists who will also tell you this. So in short if your BP is up around 140/90 and you are otherwise healthy do not agree to BP medication which can cause all sorts of problems.

    Hi there!Are you still using this BP monitor?I just got mine today, replaced and older Kinetic model, and this Omron machine is reading totaly different reading.According to my doctor, I have high blood pressure for the last 2 years, and I'm on Losartan.My older machine was always reading higher reading like 138/92 etc, but never went under 135/89.I put Omron on, done everything as I should, and 10 readings was giving 120-125 / 76-82.I checked with my old BP machine and was reading 138/90.I'm so confused now.😂Which one is wrong?Is Omron accurate?Sorry for the long comment.Thanks!

    • @geekanoids
      @geekanoids  Рік тому +1

      I totally understand your concern. I get mine checked at the GP once per year, then take mine at home at the same time of day, this gives me a +/- to adjust my home readings by. I found this one to be very accurate. I also take into account I am nervous at the GP so get slightly higher readings. Best advice really though is to check with your medical professional.

    I use a manual BP monitor and log records to android BP app on my OnePlus smartphone. Each 6 months I see my GP and the app produces reports that I print off and give to my GP. My GP was super impressed with the reports and this saves me €45 every six months as he accepts this instead of hiring out the medical centers 24 hr BP monitor :)

    I purchased the device, but unfortunately, it is downright inaccurate compared to measurements made with a manual blood pressure cuff. I mean, I was sitting still and over a span of 5-7 min it showed the following results 116/73, 124/82, 131/81, 119/75.
    For the sake of comparison, manual blood pressure cuff measurements were as follows: 139/82, 141/82, 141/81, 141/82.
    For a person who should take their medicine because of the current state of their blood pressure, I highly discourage buying this stuff 👎. Yes, it's shiny, fun, looks modern and the app is neat, you may play with it right, but when it comes to one's health it's extremely unreliable to trust this piece of tech.
