I remember seing this infomercial a lot when I was younger, back in 1999/2000. They were running over and and over in the morning on the TV station "VOX". The infomercial was however edited. The scenes where Audrey was visiting the people were cut and were partly in the beginning and partly in the middle, without introduction. She also didn't smack the Smartstack on the table and didn't give Bob the money bag. The scenes with the serving dish was long after the review and many more was cut. Also it is interesting, how the original lines go and how they were adapted (beside changing Dollars to Marks). "That's a lot of breakfast" became "That's a lot of canapés". Bob wouldn't eat the cheese and said "That's life-dangerous". Or "I fixed the whole problem with Smart Stacks" instead of talking about "rubbish". And there is more. And the Smart Stacks were introduced as "The bestseller in the USA". I always wondered how the argument "What you see you will eat" works. What if I just open the aluminium foil to see, what leftover food I have? ;-) Or: "You never run out of food at the party": Not if the guests are eating all you offer and get hungry now. I wonder if they fit for a big party too. ;-)
@@04279 haha. I didn't think you'd see the comment this quickly. I really meant it. It's funny you brought up the smacking of the lid and the money bag because all I could think about was how much I wanted a money bag like that and how the smacking demonstration was nonsense. Plastic doesn't break when you slam it down on its flat side! Not surprised they took that out.
It's verbal castration. It's a psychological technique In speech used to belittle someone, emphasize their low intelligence, or the listener is simply retarded.
Smart Stacks was one of the infomercials na Napanood ko sa Value Vision that was first aired in 1991 on GMA Network bago pa nilipat sa Citynet Television 27 noong September 1995
I wonder if this could actually be practical in daily life. the problem i see is that say i wanted cheese from a middle container i would have to pull out the entire thing
"When we come back, Audrey is going to try and sell you some unrelated crap grater thing that's been gathering dust in our warehouse for the past 5 years..."
Unless you are living in some sort of collective housing, with 20 other tenants sharing the same fridge, I don’t think having food inside a tin foil is such problem in terms of remembering what inside of it
I used to watch this badly dubbed on German TV very often twenty years ago. Love how the original sounds just as fake and over-the-top as the cheap voiceover did back then.
As a proud Pinoy boy who grew up on these infomercials, I’m feeling nostalgic in 2022 and considering buying these for more practical reasons. Do these things work as advertised, or are they flimsy as shit?
As a kid, I've grown watching all these infomercials and it still makes me want to buy one for myself to this day.
I love infomercials. So bizarrely comforting
tavern2468 I'm so glad I'm not alone!

Same!!! It’s so quirky homely

Halos nasaulo na natin lahat ng mga dialogue at pinakita nila. Super nood ako nito nung bata pa ako. Tapos gusto mo magpa-bili sa magulang mo. 😁
Yes Bob. Well Bob. Look Bob. And now Bob. Damn it Bob.
LtIsadeCaine hahahahaha

If I'm a sleeper agent this would be my trigger since I grew up watching this over and over countless times
Napanood Ko Na Yan Sa NBN-4 At IBC-13 Nung Bata Pa Ako 2004 Yata Yun 10 YEARS OLD PA LANG AKO NATATANDAAN KO NA YANG SMART STACKS COMMERCIAL
Audrey Watson and Joe Fowler are the Legends of these. I wonder where are they now :)
Joe Fowler is still alive and active in hosting various programs and events in the USA. He is currently 68 years old.
I used to watch this all the time when I was a kid!!!
+inzie23 Same here too.
Me too! I love this! So satisfying!

Me too!
Arent we all? Lol
I had a weird addiction of memorizing every single line of this infomercial back in high school.
Stress reliever ko to nung bata pa ko aside from handy chef habang inaantay yung cartoon na pinapanood ko pag hapon😅

I love the way Audrey says "BOB." She making it sound like he knows nothing, which I find hilarious.

Is it just me or Audrey looks like one of the 3 Stooges??? XD
thenameisgsarci
you mean moe howard?!
True, she has similarities with Moe Howard. Didn't notice it earlier. ;-)
Audrey Watson copied the voices of the 3 Stooges
well that's because Moe Howard is her dad, I thought everyone knew that
Eto nagtawid sakin sa mga palabas bago mag anime😂

One of my favorite childhood commercials to watch every afternoon on TV.
Anyone know what happened to this Audrey Watson from Smart Stacks?
Dead?
