The idea of making this ranking had been sitting at the back of my mind for YEARS. I’m so happy I finally got myself to do it.
The only missing dubbing from this list is Armenian, afaik. The German and Japanese dubbings, on the other hand, elected to hate themselves and left the song in English.

Whenever Icelandic and Finnish end up ranking high on my personal lists, I feel like I'm being bias as those are my favorite languages. Seeing you also putting them up there is a comfort, showing that I am not being bias.
Hi, I'm glad you shared your opinion about the performance of this song. in fact, this is my favorite cartoon and apart from the version in my native language (Russian), I have not heard any others. I loved this song very much in my youth and I love it now (by the way, if you're interested, the song is performed in Russian by Evgeny Egorov).

The least surprising thing to me about this ranking: the top 2, though I believed the positions would’ve been switched. I think my top 3 would be them and Ukrainian. Bulgarian sounded rad too

Mais comme jusqu’ici je n’avais jamais entendu d’autre version que la française, je n’avais pas d’attente particulière 😊 et j’ai été voir les paroles de la version italienne pour voir et en effet, elles sont super !
This Disney film has a bigger meaning in my life thanks for uploading this wonderful ranking of this legendary song. It means so much to me to see how others are dedecated to forgotten treasures like this one. It lives in my heart every single day. If only animation films were like this back in the days...I always ball my eyes out when hearing this song. It resonates with me more than I like to admit. One last thing, I wish I could let others see what kind of paradise-like feeling and sight I get from films like this. I'm proud of you 😊
This movie wasn't part of my childhood but a sticker book about it was lol. However when I watched the movie, I think I enjoyed it for the most part and it makes me miss so much the classic 2D Disney Animation as I'm getting tired from 3D movies over the last few years.
I'm not familiar with most male voices so I don't have a really strong opinion about them although from what I see and hear, I guess I love your top 16 and thanks for Ukrainian and Spanish! Great video. 😊

A new ranking from you, what a treat! it's so hard to rank these singers, especially when the voices are quite drowned out by the instrumental if that makes sense. Surprised by Swedish (and Italian too) but yes your comment totally makes sense. So interesting your comment on English and Bryan Adam's performances! I'm not super familiar with these voices but your tops are indeed very good! Finnish male voices are the best 👌
I quite understand what you're trying to say about the instrumentals. My version, Tagalog, is probably a prime example for that issue: I know the singer did a fairly decent job, but that damn audio is simply ruining everything. Overall, I think there are agree's and disagree's with this one. For me, my favorites for now would be Canadian French, Kazakh, and Spanish.
"Drowned out by the instrumental" makes perfect sense and it's one of the demons I constantly bicker with
That thought about Bryan Adams came up while I was making a multi from Spirit, and I was struggling to find a segment where Bryan didn't sound utterly bored in the English version. Then I moved on to the French version, and I was fully expecting to find myself with the same struggle....but then I didn't. He just sounded completely different in the French version, far more engaged...and then I realised it was something about _English_ soloists in general! Which is crazy when I think of it
@@FlamSparksI totally second you in that theory! Though I think it’s because French language just sounds more expressive & emotional than English (no hate to English). What about Tarzan, which language do you think Phil Collins sounds best in?
Hmm I don't think I agree that some languages sound more expressive or emotional than others...especially when you're actively paying close attention to their emotions. I'm quite convinced emotions are given by the person expressing them, regardless of the language they're using
As for Phil Collins, I must confess I don't have strong opinions about him or that movie in general. I believe in that case he did better in English, if anything because, unlike Bryan Adams, he couldn't speak any of the other languages he sang, and I think it's pretty evident he was struggling with the pronunciation and focusing more on that than on anything else. I wouldn't be able to compare him to other singers though, cause I've never looked much into those songs

I'm Spanish and I really appreciate that you put the Spanish dub in the second place.
I never knew we had a Tagalog dub of Treasure Planet and boy the mixing kills my ears while listening...
It's the recorder whose at fault tho, the mixing is good but when it aired, the recorder (who recorded the dub) didn't record it in high quality therefore affecting the "mixing". The mixing was done by the same studio that mix Aladdin Tagalog and they did a good job with that.
Even I had a hard time decoding the lyrics lol. I just wished there were many people who record dubs before, when Disney still air their stuff on free tv, we might have a high quality version of it.
