Does anyone have tips for the fast scales at 7:39 and 8:39? I've tried increasing speed gradually but my fingers always seem to "lock up" at higher speeds.
Mihir Manna I had the same problem too, I started getting the notes at 75% of the speed at 7:39 by doing the notes one at a time, I don’t if it’ll help but it sort of worked for me
Try dividing in groups for example you can take in groups of 4 at slow speed and then faster and when you have the forth of them at real speed you can join them together and also if you make them irregular make shure to check the metronom
You can single tongue it. Pull your tongue away from your bottom lip and let it rest in the middle of your mouth. Make sure you have a looser middle of your mouth and really firm corners. Speeds up your tonguing by a hell of a lot. Hope this helps!
Small mistake around 212, but otherwise very nice rendition. Loved the tone at the slow part, and the trills were on point! Not a hard solo, if anything just a brute force fast one with a bunch of arpeggios :)
Goku17yen this reduction for clarinet and fortepiano is wonderful! Carl Maria von Weber is the best composer ever for clarinet, with the possible exception of Mozart. And Weber, as music's first true Romantic, infuses every passage with bel canto clarity which would be the envy of Bellini or Rossini.
I have to play this for my first college recital on December 8th... wish me luckkkk

Always start at half tempo and keep it there for 3 days before gradually speeding up. Hope it helps

6:51 there was a 🐦 which amazed the piece
I need to learn double tonguing before I learn this

George Baker thanks!
What's double tonguing? I'm having a little trouble with the fast pizzicatos and a new technique might help
Not really honestly, just fast single tonguing can get you through this.
