That was my problem when it really froze down the trap was freezing down with wax dirt on top. Thanks for sharing this tip

Great vidoe guys, really good info.. quick k question how much pan tenchen do you guys use for beaver, or if you worry about it at all
Thanks Tom, We use TS-85s, not sure on the exact tension- pretty stiff. I think at minimum the pan should stay where you put it without the trap set. Shouldn't fall freely- this is in reference to a TS-85

I think waxed dirt is the best. Coverhulls and salt (if needed) is the next best option
The only trouble I had with salt was deer pawing at it and setting off my trap.
they are attracted the scent and urine as well - can be a real pain
