    The history I quoted relates to these people, who are one of the five groups who descended from Zwangendaba kaZiguda Jele Gumbi, a relative of Shaka who fled north in Malawi, Zambia and Tanzania. They are called the Ngoni (from N'guni), those this particular group in Tanzania is known as the Songea, in honour of the warrior leader of that name, who was killed by the Germans during the Maji Maji rebellion on 1906.
