    The real story behind those guys performingin the Starvanger Stadium andJan Egeland being messaged by his nephew about it is the real treat! Love your reaction!

    Idk if it's true, but someone said that Ylvis got a letter from a viewer of the show, commenting on how they didn't congratulate Jan Egeland on his birthday, and this song was born from that, which I find hilarious😂 Apparently they showed this video during a UN meeting, and Egeland was really embarrassed, but I do think he found it funny as well!

    I love how they just chose a random politician and made him a superstar without his knowledge 😂 There is an interview with Jan Egeland, who says how his niece called him that on a rock concert everybody is shouting his name 😅

      Not quite random as he has been known for doing good things. But yeah, it was because someone on the talkshow got angry because they didnt mention it was his birthday, on one of their episodes. So they made a tribute😅. Gotta thank that strange guy for complaining

      @@mari97216 Of course he wasn't totally random, but also he wasn't some amazing figure - just one of many people doing good things. Could have been him or any of his colleagues - just it happened that someone mentioned his name on their show. Really loving these guys, fantastic comedians ♥

    Many interpret the song as a tribute to a Norwegian politician who later got a job in a UN-related organization (the Refugee Council). I would now rather say that they are making fun of not only Jan Egeland, but all these Norwegian figures who, for some unknown reason, are placed in apparently important positions within the UN system, and who think they can save the world. They have probably all bought the position with Norwegian oil money.

    • @ToxicSkullFear
      @ToxicSkullFear Рік тому +4

      Why you so serious? A lot more countries with more loose oil money than Norway who sits on it like hawks. So no not very likely. In fact it was a tribute though randomly picked.

      @@ToxicSkullFear I find the song hilarious. I love sarcasm and irony used as tools to expose hypocrisy and corruption. Why should ordinary people pay tribute to politicians who do nothing but fill their own pockets?
