At 1:08 you can see the mag is slightly out so he doesn't have to push the release button, this also means he can not fire
Fun fact, Fortnite's Tactical Shotgun is meant to be a heavily modified Mossberg shotgun. (Hence why it says "Bossmerg" on the side, it's a parody of the original weapon's name.) The tech attachments originate from Save the World mode, where some guns are modified to help the heroes fight against supernatural enemies.

This made me realize the guns in game look fine, probably because it flows with the overall art style, but they do not translate well in real life at all. They are very bulky.
It's because in nerf they make the guns look ultra cartoonish because nerf doesn't want them to look like real guns
