You ground that rivet off... did you replace it with a new rivet? No? There are a hundred ways to half-ass anything you do, and emergency rooms are full of the idiots that do that. Get the right parts, get the right tools, and learn how to do it right, or pay someone that will. Smh.
Although I apriciate your comments but I have been doing this all my life, my father has done it all his life, his father, see a pattern? Yes? If you do it right you will not have a problem. You should do what works for you, this video is to show one way to do this amd it is a generational success. Thanks for watching, have a great day.
@@cobravids Rivets and spinners are cheap. Failing to acknowledge that this is a shortcut video is a disservice and a dangerous route for those who may be less experienced or less mechanically inclined. All is fine and good until Billy Bob has a chain come apart and wrap around his leg.
@stephenneill2621 Hmm, I've been doing this forever. Never had one break, the trick is you leave just enough rivet so that when you ping it, it spreads out and retains the chain. My father did it and my grandfather.

Kids don’t try this at home it’s extremely dangerous and not a good way to shorten your chain
