not the cheapest if you have a Myki travel card. 901 bus to Broadmeadows, then train to the city. There is also a less regular bus that goes to Airport West, where you can catch a tram to the city, but it's pretty slow...
Yeah convenient but not cheapest. Also not cheapest for a family of 4 where a taxi is likely cheaper than skybus (and again the Myki option wins hands down).
