I’ve spent nearly 5 months , 3 cancelled orders , trying to simply buy a full simagic upgrade for my rig. Finally yesterday on order number 4 something actually shipped. I wanted badly to pre order this rim but since it’s almost impossible to buy ANY direct drive eco systems in the market I couldn’t justify having a wheel come for something I may never be able to buy. Now it’s months away sold out. I really don’t understand why sim racing gear is the one and only thing in my 50 years on this earth that is in such a horrific state of logistics and supply.

Not just vs direct competitors (i.e. Moza KS and GS), but also rims closer to €/$ 600,- and over, by brands such as Ascher, GRID, GSI, Cube Controls, etc. BTW, nice and clear overview.
@lilcampers3309 The GS is heavier and feels great to hold on to, but because of the ergonomics of the rim, my hands used to hurt after a while. Not a case in GT neo. Both look and feel great.

I don’t know how you got away but when i bought a g923 even before it arrived a chappal from kitchen arrived 😅😅😂😂)
Hello there 👋🏼 I’m really glad you enjoyed my content 😄 And to answer your question, you can start with a Moza R5 bundle, or an R9/12. It will be more than enough to suffice your needs. And if you are willing to spend a little bit extra, I’d say go for Simagic alpha mini with GTS/GT1-R. Both Moza and Simagic offer excellent variety of products. Though dd will be expensive, it will be long lasting. Nothing usually breaks a dd, except poor quality control, faulty circuit board (1 in a 1000) or dropping it. I usually order my products via VRH, and if it isn’t available, I contact the manufacturer directly or order from a different website (Abruzzi, Sim motion, or the manufacturer’s website) And the final thing, I can’t do much about the bramhastra (flying chappal) as I’m really lucky to have my mother support me in all of this.
You will need the Maglink. And you might need to change the GT Neo QR as the pins are different despite both Moza and Simagic having similar QR. It might damage your base or the wheel.

You’re absolutely right. I totally forgot about those. They are really 7 way funky switches. They are movable in 4 directions, rotatable back and forth and can be pressed like a normal button.
If you have a Moza quick release could you try attaching the Maglink to it? Would love to know if they are compatible as I have a Moza r9 and want to check compatibility before I purchase it
Since Moza has a similar QR mechanism like Simagic, they won’t work even if it fits, Because the pins on the backside are different. It might damage your gear. If you want to use it, I recommend swapping the QR and using maglink.

But if Neo is something you want, you’d need Maglink, and swapping of the QR. Simagic and Moza both offer their own versions of QR (NRG style) in their websites.
I like your gloves. They look not too thick. Can you give me the link to some webshop? It looks to me like your wheel is placed too high, it doesnt look comfortable. Did you try lowering the height of entire base?
Actually the Gloves are from Adidas. They’re running gloves. And my seat is quite reclined as I’m a bit tall. Also the GT track isn’t too adjustable. I might upgrade to a better rig.
@@darthsnape i made myself my own "rig" from wood. As a seat i am using ikea poäng chair. My wheel is a t150 thrustmaster. Only "expensive" thing in my rig is t-lcm load cell pedals. I have other hobbies too, i have to economize, plus ikea poäng doubles as a piece of furniture 😆.

@S2GUnit Yeah, back then I didn’t plan on making videos about these things. And I gained quite a lot of time when switched to HE Sprint. I’ll make a video about them. Also I will be getting P1000s sometime around February. So a review will be dropping soon ;)
@@darthsnape and also give SimHub support (you can use also the MagLink as well) but it's not limited to MagLink cables, it's required by SimHub for telemetry through USB (not USB CAN on wheel base, only standalone USB port on computer)
Makes almost more sense to leave the Fanatec Ecosystem, especially if you have a cheaper Fanatec Base. Then it’s almost the same price to sell your current and buy a simagic alpha mini base instead of spending 200$ on the podium hub if you want to get the wheel anyway. Plus you don’t need a stupid cable on the wheel. I am going to do exactly that and thought about the same thing.
@@darthsnape yeah I just realized I need an adapter for the adapter lol.. I have a CNC router I'm gonna cut one out of aluminum tomorrow. Shame the maglink doesn't have the fanatec bolt pattern as well as standard 70mm. lot of people have fanatec bases.

Is the simhub support only with Maglink, or it is supported with the wheel on alpha U base native connection w/o maglink?

Sadly, no. Maglink is needed for third party compatibility.
Do you know if the shifters has hall sensors or not?
The clutch paddles have hall sensors and the shifter paddles are magnetic.

I remember when I bought T-LCMs for the first time. Feels like yesterday. I too mounted my Thrustmaster TX on a table and sat on an office chair 😄

How do you connect to a fanatec wheelbase? Can you do it with just a qr1 and say a srm emulator?
I’m not really sure about the compatibility with Fanatec. But Jardier uploaded a video as well and he has a Fanatec base. Do check out his video.
Podium hub
To connect with fanatec bases, any QR system works but you will need the podium hub. Podium hub bolts to wheel in place of simagic hub
