Almenwelt Lofer, Austria - Skiing With The GoPro Hero 10 Black

- Lofer is a small ski resort in Austria, located in the Pinzgau region, in the valley of the Saalach river, with the Lofer Mountains to the southwest. A few miles west, the road takes you to the ski town of Waidring in Tyrol, check out my skiing video of Waidring on the channel.
I’d recommend Lofer to families with small children, perhaps taking up skiing for the first time. The town itself has a lot of history as can been seen in the many historic buildings throughout the town.
This video was filmed using the new GoPro Hero 10 Black. If you have any questions in regards to the GoPro Hero 10 when it comes to skiing, drop me a comment and I’ll try an answer aa soon as possible.
Overall the GoPro Hero 10 Black is arguably one of the best action cameras for skiing. I will be testing different action cameras throughout the season including the following.
1. DJI Action 2
2. GoPro Max 360
3. Akaso Brave 7
4. Insta360 Go 2

Hi, a GoPro J mount clipped into a curved adhesive mount set directly on top of the ski helmet. I recommend setting the camera on the very top of the ski helmet to set the angle of the camera at around 15 / 20 degrees off vertical rear wards. This counters the angle of your head looking down the slope, otherwise you’ll have too much slope in shot and not enough sky / mountains in the background.

What settings are you finding the best with the GoPro 10 for Ski footage,
i.e. Frame rate etc?
Hi, I’d recommend the basic preset to get started with, which is 1080p @ 60 fps with linear framing and horizon levelling. I’d suggest setting the white balance to 5500k for most lighting conditions when on the ski slopes. I have a ski video filmed in 5.3k cinematic mode coming up on the channel soon.
Ich kenne Lofer nur ohne Schnee. Vielleicht schaffe ich es auch einmal im Winter
Bei schlechtem Wetter sollte man die Gondel nehmen sonst ist das Gebiet richtig schön
