Hey Blogging Fam! Here's link the get started: createandgo.com/bluehost. Thanks for checking out the video and big shoutout to those of you who get started. That first step is one of the hardest so big props to you. Here's the link to the second video where I cover building out your blog in more detail: ua-cam.com/video/9FIb8w3VE7Q/v-deo.html
I was in the process of doing this through your link, but had to stop when I realized they were going to bill for the whole year at once rather than monthly. Is there any way to be billed monthly?
Please disregard my question. When I clicked the link to bluehost it says it is auto install for WP. Great. Signing up! Thank you. I hope it really installs automatically.
Create and Go Hey your Facebook page is down if you didn’t know and I’d like to post some things there but I don’t know what’s down last night 24 hours ago I was able to get on it and then I can’t find it on the Facebook app now then I’ll try searching it on Google and what happened was I found the link but when I clicked on it it said it wasn’t available
Wanting to start a blog years ago but always felt so overwhelmed with all the information out there. So thank you so much for breaking down the steps in a simple and doable manner...I finally feel more ready than ever to give it go after watching a few of your videos! Nicely done x
Ive watched sooo many videos about how to start a blog and I got so overwhelmed and confused because of the way the information was delivered. Needless to say I couldnt do it because it looked so complicated and Im an MBA student. THANK YOU so much for making it seem simple and easy in this video. No one has been able to do it the way you just did. No nonsense, no crazy music, no ranting, straight to the point and presented perfectly. Thank you!
I tried to set up a blog using Word Press and Bluehost. After 9 hours of working on it I finally gave up. This video did way more than I did in the first half. I will try again now that I have your instruction. Thank you!
You're welcome! Since this is an older video, a few things might look different, but the overall process should be similar enough to get you through it :) -Cathy, Create and Go
Now that's the best tutorial, well spoken, clear, concise, precise, good quality. I didn't get bored at all. Please make more videos on how to get free traffic and promote blog and write articles, social media marketing etc. Thanks

Thank you so much! This is extremely helpful and so, so easy to follow along. I literally don't need to go anywhere else or scroll through heaps of videos to get the information I need. You showcased it perfectly and clearly! Appreciate you!
Alex I checked out Bluehost and saw the price was similar. I came back here because you deserve more than just a commission for this lesson. I followed step by step and I could not have done it without you. Thank you.
Hey Alex & Lauren, I feel like I've made a mess of things....too many courses (that are crappy), and too many directions that I've tried to go in. Thus, ended up nowhere. So, I have your Pinterest course, but at that time when I bought it, I should've really bought your Blogging course. So, I'm thinking about it. I'm a realtor (almost 34 years....started when I was 19 yrs old), and I'd gladly trade my real estate license to make my living blogging! Just not sure what to blog about..real estate, food (so competitive, but I did own a bar/restaurant at one time..so I have a little bit of extra insight). I've followed along on your success for a couple years now, and I love what you guys have achieved. It's really brilliant! Any pearls of wisdom you could impart, in helping me on my path?

Hi I want to start a blog to inspire and motivate others in adversity and other moments in life. This is something I do within my circle, but I'd like to reach others via a blog. Divi is a theme that comes with a visual builder you can use for pages, categories, etc. We don't recommend using the divi builder for posts. Elementor is also a page builder, but the two don't work together. Elementor is not a theme, so it will work on other themes. Hope this helps!
Hi and thank you SO much for this video!! I am now a subscriber! I am starting a blog that I am excited about - I have two questions I would so appreciate your reply to. 1. Should I have a bunch (15-ish maybe) of posts to put up at once and back date some to look accomplished when getting started? 2. Should I have established social media pages for my blog/name with subscribers before / simultaneously the blog gets out/is published? Thank you!!!
Hey Jamie. I would upload your post as you write them, from the beginning, they once you have about 10 post uploaded, start promoting them on social media. I recommend focusing on only 1-2 social media platforms in the beginning, with Pinterest being my top choice for organic traffic. Your social media pages do not have to be established yet, but can grow with your blog.

Hi, I have a question, say you wanted to sell physical products rather than just e-products in conjunction with your blog, do I need a separate website for that or can I integrate those features into a normal blog site?
I'm gonna ask about the package extras at minute 2.17. When I tried to process this step, the packages are not offering the same way looked like in this video. There is no first (office 365 email essential) and the second one (domain privacy protection). It only provides the remaining three extras. How am I supposed to do with it, as I want to choose the same way in this video? Hope for your reply soon. Thank you
Hey Abdul. To see the Domain Privacty Protection option, you must choose a domain name. If you skip that part, you will not have the option to addon the Domain Privacy at purchase.
Thank you, I am creating mi blogs thank you for this tutorial it's a great help for people to start! I'll be following create and go blog tips and courses! By the way, I recommend you update it to 2020 some things have changed. But this is a great start.

I wish you much success this video is straight to the point! One question can you edit the font after you choose the theme or is the font part of the theme you are choosing?

Im asking because when I went to WP the installation process was all Greek to me! Please say YES that when I buy BlueHost as my domain, it is automatic that WP is in there. Thank you for your reply.
Yes, WordPress comes as a free platform with your Bluehost purchase and should be a simple download. If you have any issues, reach out to Bluehost support and they can walk you through it.

@@CreateandGo Ok. So would I have to get a new website? Or can I just do wordpress with my current one? Or separate. Just wanted to see waht I actually need to purchase. I asked in the group too ,, but waiting for answer.
Hey Ron! It just depends on what other tools and features you choose. Bluehost and domain registration do have recurring cost (usually annually) and you will pay the full price upon renewal. Beyond that, many plugins are free and many have paid versions. You can absolutely blog for relatively cheap, but certain paid tools will make your life easier. Hi there, I have a free site on Wix and I am looking to upgrade. I understand that WP is handy but Wix is next level easy. What are the details of why you prefer WP? Is there any shortcut to have a cheaper Wix hosting or installing that interface on a cheaper host platform? Thank you!

So can I add a page to my website after its published? I am new to this and followed your video until I couldn't due to changes in Bluehost start up. So I am concerned I will have missed something while setting it up. I want an about section explaining who I am and why I set it up. And I don't have a section in it so figuring out how to add that. But if I want to add more to my site after its all published can I?
Technically yes, but people tend to work faster and more efficiently on a laptop/PC...I personally can't imagine blogging 100% on a tablet -Cathy, Create and Go
Hi! I’m trying to get in before the discounted price expires but I don’t get the option for Domain Privacy Protection :/ only the other three below it. I don’t want to take a chance since you said we need that for sure!
How many blog post do you have in your blog (avocadu)? and how many post should I write to get a good amount of views? Please reply.. ❤and thanks for all the informations..
We have over 200 blog posts on Avocadu. I would have about 10 blog post uploaded before you start promoting the blog to drive traffic to it. You can get views pretty quickly off Pinterest, but Google SEO takes close to 6 months. Check out this article on the website about how to get more traffic to your blog: createandgo.com/how-to-start-a-blog/
When extensions besides .com came out, there were geared towards specific content type. .org was created for educational sites, .gov for government, etc... Ideally, you should go with .com if it's available. -Cathy, Create and Go
Hey thanks for the great vid! Question: if we decide to monetize it in the future, are there any upfront considerations we need to install now vs later?? This would be a great follow-up tutorial too
The only things we 100% recommend at the beginning for future monetization is to pay for self-hosted and use WordPress as the platform (not the host) from the beginning. Anything else can be installed/invested in at a later date. -Cathy, Create and Go
What are the copyright ramifications on your blog -- i.e., are copyright protections built in for whatever appears on one's blog? Or does a blogger have to take special steps in order for content to have copyright, IP protection?

I am thinking of starting a blog to advertise my book and essays. The book is not finished but at least I can provide some interesting bits that may entice potential readers. Do you think a blog is the way to go for my venture?

Hi. I was going along copying everything but I don't have any photos. Help. I'm taking your initial course and this was in the middle of the lessons as free content. I'm pretty happy to see my title up but I need pictures. By the way I'm totally green.
For hosting, if you want to make money you have to financially commit yourself. That means at some point in you have to invest in your new merging abilities.
Don't spend the money on tools until you are ready to use them. The "term" starts from the day of purchase, not from when you start using Bluehost. -Cathy, Create and Go
Hey Maria, if you already have a domain/URL, then you can contact your new host provider to see what's needed to transfer it. No need to create a new or temporary one.

So I am concerned I will have missed something while setting it up. I want an about section explaining who I am and why I set it up. And I don't have a section in it so figuring out how to add that. But if I want to add more to my site after its all published can I?
Yes you can! You can add pages and update your website at any time. A blog will be ever evolving :)

I know this video is from a few years ago but can all of this be done on iPad?, from hosting to domain, editing and downloads?
Technically yes, but people tend to work faster and more efficiently on a laptop/PC...I personally can't imagine blogging 100% on a tablet

Hi! I’m trying to get in before the discounted price expires but I don’t get the option for Domain Privacy Protection :/ only the other three below it. I don’t want to take a chance since you said we need that for sure!
Did you skip choosing a domain name? If so, that is why you are not seeing Domain Privacy as an option
Wow thank you soooo much!
You're welcome!

Great video thank you so much! just a quick question, is there a real difference between choosing a .com or .org? I heard .org is more beneficial?
When extensions besides .com came out, there were geared towards specific content type. .org was created for educational sites, .gov for government, etc...
Ideally, you should go with .com if it's available.

What are the copyright ramifications on your blog -- i.e., are copyright protections built in for whatever appears on one's blog? Or does a blogger have to take special steps in order for content to have copyright, IP protection?
Online content is automatically falls under the protection of copyright laws.

Is the domain name purchase a one payment or continual payments?
Hey, Naomi! There is a yearly fee to keep the domain registered.
-Cathy, Create and Go
If you purchased basic and plans to upgrade it later on, would that be okay?
Absolutely! But you will only get the introductory rates on the initial signup.

Thanks for making it so easy. More videos please. What about Godaddy? Do u recommend it?
No, we don't recommend Godaddy. Glad you enjoyed it! More videos to come!

@@CreateandGo why not? Why do u not recommend it?
GoDaddy is much more limited. Wordpress gives you more control and flexibility in designing your website.

I am thinking of starting a blog to advertise my book and essays. The book is not finished but at least I can provide some interesting bits that may entice potential readers. Do you think a blog is the way to go for my venture?
Absolutely!! Many authors use a blog to provide teasers to upcoming books and provide a behind-the-scenes look for their readers.

Hi. I was going along copying everything but I don't have any photos. Help. I'm taking your initial course and this was in the middle of the lessons as free content. I'm pretty happy to see my title up but I need pictures. By the way I'm totally green.
Hey Victoria. Check out this article: createandgo.com/blog-images/ for recommendations on where to find stock photos to use for your blog.
For hosting, if you want to make money you have to financially commit yourself. That means at some point in you have to invest in your new merging abilities.
Gotta spend money to make money!! Or at least it will help you make money faster when you invest in the RIGHT tools!
-Cathy, Create and Go
Would you suggest setting up the blue host before buying the course if you will not get the course for a few months from now?
Don't spend the money on tools until you are ready to use them. The "term" starts from the day of purchase, not from when you start using Bluehost.

Would I choose a temporary URL name while transferring data from Wix and then have Wix do the transfer of the URL i want? I'm confused.
Hey Maria, if you already have a domain/URL, then you can contact your new host provider to see what's needed to transfer it. No need to create a new or temporary one.
Thank you so much!!
You're welcome!

Am I able to set up a blog on bluehost with just an ipadAir or do I need a PC?
You'll need to check with Bluehost. We've always used a laptop and do not blog from mobile devices.
