If you have the means and the time, I highly suggest doing RAGBRAI. If visiting NE-IA I suggest Pikes Peak State Park, Effigy Mounds, Spook Cave, Marquette/McGregor, Harpers Ferry/Lansing area and taking time to fish the tributaries leading into the Mississippi. It was a magical place to grow up.
Howdy from NC! Loved this video, especially since we've walked many of those same locations. Thanks for bringing back good memories. Oh, and you have a beautiful family, too!
@@shellygreving Thank you so much and prepare for more Coloradans coming as California has invaded CO. Would love to hear about your business as I purchased a commercial property. The Ryan Pub and cafe had been closed 14 years when I came across it in a tax sale. Ryan's last historic building on Main St. A Cafe and Bakery is on the horizon after a lot of work.
Wanting to plan a vacation to iowa with my family. Live in Washington state but have always been fascinated with iowa. Please comment on musts to stay and do. Have 4 small children and want to experience cabin country rental and small town charm. Where to start!?
Craig, Iowa looks forward to welcoming your family. There are lots of great options depending on what else you want to do with your family. Here are some of my favorites!! Grumpster's Cabins in Marquette & McGregor (ua-cam.com/video/taHWimJJ6ac/v-deo.html); Country Cabins in Chariton, IA (www.country-cabins.com/about-us-hotel/) and not too far away is Honey Creek Resort (www.honeycreekresort.com/stay/cottages) at Lake Rathbun (ua-cam.com/video/pyhGrEfqVog/v-deo.html). My favorite, though, is probably Decorah High Point Cabins near Decorah (ua-cam.com/video/QrZ6AaidzMc/v-deo.html). We can't wait to hear where you decide to travel to. There's lots of options so good luck in deciding your adventure. You can always check out www.traveliowa.com for more lodging options.
@@em3rgemarketing thank you for responding. Yah Decorah cabins looked beautiful and caught my attention! Is there a lot to do within driving distance of the cabins? And what town is the nearest airport to fly into?
Suggestions: Des Moines East Village and Old town West Des Moines, Cedar Rapids Czech Town, Fairfield Town square (3 India Restaurants?) and an Art Gallery. George Wyth State Park and Downtown Cedar Falls, Mason City Frank Lloyd Wright's only American designed Hotel, Dubuque Finicular up Hill Rail Car and Mississippi Bluffs, Loess Hills and Council Bluffs West Iowa Region. The Field of Dreams Baseball Stadium in Dyersville, Universities of Iowa and Iowa State Campuses in Iowa City and Ames (You might also check out UNI when in Cedar Falls)
The bluffs look really cool.
