🌹 3-FOOT Rose Growth in a Month with Great Big Roses Organic Humic Acid Fertilizer

  • In this follow-up video, I share the outstanding growth and basel breaks (new canes) my roses experienced after applying two treatments (one month) of Great Big Roses fertilizer. This organic rose fertilizer from Great Big Plants contains Kelp and Humic Acid, and has no smell so animals won't be attracted to your roses. I continually try to reduce my use of animal products and I'm excited this will replace my cow manure and fish fertilizer routines.

Wow!!! Very nice new growth! And since you've been doing this so long, you know that this massive growth spurt isn't just because it's the height of the season...there's another variable and it's this crazy stuff! I love that it has humic acid in it. At first, I was hearing controversial reviews on humic acid, but most people have come around to not just accept it, but recommend it as part of their standard protocol. I love that this is has humic acid mixed in with fertilizers. That saves you a trip spraying around the garden or mixing it yourself.

I’m 8 days in and saw growth and blooms , I’m going to take pics and keep track. I still have little BS but have great hope for their future.

Great big Rose saved my Munstead Wood Rose! Here in Texas we had a drought and hot, hot summer. It finally rained about 2 weeks ago.
My Munstead Wood, looked horrible, but it now is blooming.

I remember this Paul Zimmerman video as well about not spraying!! But now I can’t seem to find it. ): So thankful I have this product to help my rose grow healthy. I messaged the manufacturer and they suggested to do a root soak before I plant! My baby is going to be starting off strong.

This weekend I went through two bags of rose tone and watered everything in with fish emulsion. I feel like my olfactory sense will never recover…I think I need to get on board with this product

Thanks for this, Kimberly! I ordered a gallon to. try! I am most interested in basal breaks, as only my hybrid tea has really bad black spot. But I'm excited to see how I get on!

@@TheRoseGeek When you said that about your hybrid teas in the video, i was like "Okay. i'm not failing the rose. it's just the way of the world. " So, thanks for reassuring me, too >.< I'll read up on the packaging when it gets here--- but when do you think is too late in the season to start on GBR? ( if you know) thanks for all that you do!

If you want to encourage new shoots from the crown on an old rose should you leave a large area uncovered by mulch around the crown?

I responded on another video just now. If you are on Facebook, post a photo on Rose Geeks so that we can see if there are older canes that can be removed to give it a jump of energy.

@@TheRoseGeek I’m all good if the blooms last more than 3 days ( trying to find ones that go for a week). I agree that adding diversity to the garden is important! Do you have any recommendations for long lasting DA roses? Thank you for replying btw😊

I wonder if hydrogen peroxide would work for black spot. It's used to treat fungal infections on plants like tomatoes. I have also got good results with sulfur powder, but it's a pain to use.

If you can weather through without putting anything ON your roses, your roses will figure it out! So far, I have not had one single incident this summer of blackspot, or any disease on my roses, with an exception of some sawfly damage in one of my bushes in the back yard. This is in the Pacific Northwest!! I am on my 2.5 season mark using GBR and I am now down to 1X per month and an occasional feed of an organic fertilizer. That's all.
