@@rudolf_box8440them making contact would probably obliterate the plane hit from force and maybe the hitter would mess up or could just angle the hitter sharply downwards from the impact
What about indestructible seat throwing so it’s a spear/space cockpit flung with either your creation or the structures on the map and using inertia or catapult style
I've got 3 ideas for you, 1: Player 1 builds a plane with wheels on the tips of the wings. Player 2 makes a runway with two lanes and a gap in between. Then land the plane on that runway. 2: Build a plane which can transform into a submarine upon contact with the water (like, wings turn in and stuff). 3: Test yours and your friends building skills by turning animals into a vehicles (maybe multiple animals per person but that might be too time consuming). Points for form and points for function
In "A Knight's Tale" it was: 1 point for striking armor (and possibly for striking shield) 2 points for striking helmet 3 points (and their horse) for unhorsing them first to 6 points or best total score after 3 rounds As for official Jousting rules in the real world I haven't got a clue but if all else fails the movie version is straight forward enough to suffice. As such that would be one point for detonating your lance on the enemy helicopter(without knocking them from the air). Two points for destroying enough of their rotor to knock them from the air. Three points and their helicopter blueprint (they have to delete their copy of the blueprint after you copy it) if you manage to destroy or dislodge their seat (thereby knocking them out of their helicopter).
For a challenge try to recreate the top gun scene where he he goes above him and flips him off, be try to connect to the other plane somehow. Good luck!
Hmm...now you have got me wondering just how chaotic sword-fighting helicopters would be. Or just have bot-battle style weapons, but in the air. Considering just how much more agile and maneuverable than I expected these helicopters were in melee combat, perhaps it might just work.
If you both had a single shield of the same size and used lances without an explosive it would be possible to use the actual jousting point system. Since the explosion makes it so destructive and messy it's hard to tell what even happened. And I'm pretty sure the lances would break even without an explosive. Interestingly the points in real jousting rewards the safer spots to hit making a really dangerous sport at least a little more safe.
Scrapman i would like to see a 1v1v1v1 dogfight where everyone builds a plane and you randomly chose who gets whos plane you can get your own if you are lucky the creator also gets to chose the camera angel you have to use this can be a camera block.
I've got an awesome idea! A battle between a spaceship rocket launch and a plane trying to stop it mid-air. The rocket would be like a massive cylindrical rocket that can only launch straight up. No sideways controls except logic ans thrusters that keep the rocket straight. The plane tries to attack the rocket after launch. The rocket that's able to keep moving up the longest wins. If you reach the sky box you reset with your rocket as-is and launch again. The rocket is allowed weapons of course. Time is called when the rocket is no longing moving upward.
Mech melee massacre: Build a moving mech with a wheel base (can have multiple legs for redundancy but has to be within a block limit) the mech will use moving arms that swing, smash or poke the enemy Points are awarded with: +1 for contact/damaging the opponent +2 if the damage is lethal and takes out the opponent +1 for being the last standing (if you have more than 2 players)
I could see this being a whole series...dragracer jousts, thanks jousts, etc. Bonus points if you can make actual mechanical horses and joust from those 🤣 I'd recommend taking off the dynamite in the future and trying to make targets that correspond to the actual jousting rules, you can then check damage and judge points. If all the Trailmakers players can ever get on board...you could make it a proper tourney. Maybe some modder can make a map with actual "lists" too)
Suggestion: Walker Jousting. Each player has to build a walker with 4 legs and the seat has to be on top. Accessible for a direct attack. Both players have to add a jousting lance of 5 pipes length on the left side. Both players joust on a straight stretch (e.g. a road or the aircraft carrier) with a small wall inbetween the left and right lane. 1 point for hitting the walker. 2 points for hitting the seat. 3 points for detaching the opponents seat.
Me looking at the thumbnail, "That's not how you refuel helicopters." It's a bit of a shame that there isn't a connection point on the smart cannon itself. You could have connected these to that point and have your "spar torpedo" always face towards your opponent. . . .HEY DEVS!!!!! This also points out what my theory was about explosive damage. It propagates from it's detonation point and blocks are damaged in real time as they move around that damage area. You got damaged more that once test because you were flying into the damage radius. You too less damage during the single jet engine battle because you fell out of the damage radius so fast. So it's not so much as how fast the projectile is traveling when it hits, it's how much of a creation is passed through the volume of damage while it lasts. You need to test that out. I think an improvement for this would have been an anchor block on the TNT with a detachment block and a timer sensor (if there's such a thing) for a delayed detonation. I get confused between all the building games I play as to which game has which logics. Stormworks, Scrap Mechanic, Trailmakers, Main Assembly, Factorio, Astro Colony, Space Engineers, Raft, Satisfactory, etc.
You may have looked up the MODERN jousting rules, try these for an older points. Of course, there was no international body, each tournament could have its own rules. The Lists (track) and lances didn't have any set design and were different for each location and knight. 1 point for a touch. 3 points for breaking the tip of the lance (in front of the pennant). 5 points for a shattered lance. 5 points to each knight in the rare event of a tip-to-tip strike. 10 points for unhorsing your opponent. 0 points for breaking a lance by sweeping. -5 points (penalty) for throwing a lance at a squire. -10 points (penalty) for hitting a horse the first time. Disqualification for hitting a horse the second time. Note: The highest score possible for a single pass is 10 points. So, if a knight breaks his lance while unhorsing his opponent, only 10 points are awarded.

ScrapMan you should build the Kaman K-Max Dual Rotor Helicopter in your Recreating Real Life Machines In Video Games series its a very interesting Helicopter
I'm just going to leave here the same suggestions i left under Yzuei's video: sword fighting boats (explosive tipped fencing? or something) and hammer wielding tanks (at the end of the barrel)
Got a challenge for both. Build a copy of the Mave Yukikaze and then battle it out with weapon rounds. First round with smart cannons, second round with machine guns and third round with missile launchers
I don't know if you guys have already done something like that in Scrap Mechanics but I think it would be cool to replicate this idea in Scrap Mechanics, but using ground vehicles. The rules would be: whoever breaks the lance on the enemy scores a point, not replacing the vehicle only attaching a new lance, and victory would be by points or when your opponent is no longer able to move.

Instead of dynamite you could have used a ship cannon + a distanse sensor to fire the cannon when getting close. That way you don't explode the oponents lance.
