- It's April 1999 and i'm in a snowy Scotland! We start at Cumbernauld in a snow storm, and see class 156 Super-Sprinter DMUs along with the semaphore signalling that was still in use at this time. Next we are at Edinburgh Waverley. Here we see two GNER class 91+MkIV sets arrive & depart along with a class 56 on a cement train working, finishing with a doubled headed pair of Grids on an MGR working. If you liked the video please subscribe to my channel, there are lots more transport & quirky vids to upload!
The start is similar to todays weather. Lucky to have got two named 156's at Cumbernauld and two Romanian 'Grids' at Waverley.
And Stirling as a bonus! Wasn't too many EXPRESS branded 158's in England by that year i must say. Fine 56 action, and fine collection of vids sir.
Your video's showing its age. I mean, literally, it's starting to break down! Still, nice to see Class 91's storming down the road!
And those Sprinters were pretty cool! Can't say the same for those 56's. Never really liked them!
Anyway, thanks for the upload!
I didn't know Cumbernauld still had semaphore signals in 1999. Fascinating!
@@SteamboatWilley not long before they were replaced if I remember correctly.....
Would think so as a colour light signal already in place on Platform 1. Great video, remember that old voice auto announcer at Waverley from when I went there in early spotting days!
Love the electric buzz at Waverley. If I was a tourist I'd be disappointed by that posh announcer though 😂
Great video as always Soi! What’s tomorrow’s bus video?
