I saw the ingredients on the thumbnail and immediately recognized the indian spices needed to make garam masala. It's elevates food to another level. Indian curry is the best after all when it comes to variety of spices.
I agree about cleaning while you are cooking. Garam Masala is one of my favorite spices to use in Indian curry. He is right curry always tastes better the second day as the flavors meld more.
Pro tip: There's nothing like grinding your own garam masala. You can easily control the spices that go in and the overall flavour is just better. Also it's best to add garam masala at the end of your cook time say around 2 mins before you turn the stove off.
@@abovesealevel5202 No we don't add garam masala to tea. I think what you're referring to is Masala Chai. Just google Indian Masala tea/chai and you'll get the recipe. It's a slightly different blend of spices. And just for future reference, the word 'chai' itself means tea. So saying 'chai tea' sounds quite strange and funny to us.
@@slim_shady411 so masala in masala chai and garam masala you use for savory food are two different thing. My lazy brain almost buy garam masala to make masala chai. I always wonder if they are the same thing before this. I'll search for the recipe (I hope I get the authentic one). And thank you for mentioning. Now I now tea, teh, chai, and cha are all the same thing, it's just in different language.
@@m11nt This is just for garam masala. The rest of the masalas can be added midway but for the garam masala flavours to shine best, its better to add it at the end. Otherwise, it just gets mixed with all the other masalas without that added bit of umami.
I have been watching this show for a long time and it made me really happy when they mentioned Nepal. We love to eat Korean food here in Nepal and love Kpop
Pestle and Mortar make me speechless. In Malaysia, every household have that thing, didnt matter you indian, chinese or malay. Dude really should live in Malaysia. Garam masala? we had all that packing individually and you literally can find them anywhere in here. And our curry use coconut milk, similar to cream he uses.
i know right? i'm facinated on the way he cooks his curry, its like almost the same as how the malaysians cook our curry. of course there's a variety of recipes out there.
@@kimchie2529 i know. its a amazement speechless that this guy had all that things just to make curry. and the way they think the curry is soo good. like, we taken that for granted because we always eat like that hahaha
Wow he came to Nepal for trekking. Happy to hear that. I am from Nepal. We eat rice and curry every day with each meal. Haha yeah it takes time to make curry. Garam masala enhances the flavor. It goes so well with meat. KBS With love from Nepal ❤
I strongly recommend to put kerisik in chicken/red meat curry. Kerisik is pounded/blended toasted shredded coconut. Not the sweet shredded use on dessert. It's really elevate the taste of curry, making it more rich
How he came to know this much knowledge about Indian curry tips .... It means he used garam masala for the flavour, and to lessen the spiciness he added fresh cream and the lemon juice.... He really know about Indian curry and I'm proud to be an Indian☺️☺️
It was funny when they said that it was so much to remember, well, we make the garam masala right at the spot...ALSO love it how our Indian culture is being incorporated...enjoy the curry...
im not from india but its like basic things to cook like that in malaysia and my relatives in indonesia too but why do i feel so amaze to watch him cook and explain everything while me pretend to know nothing
Well I'm Indian and we do fresh cream, coconut milk or just cashew paste. It depends on the flavour a d the consistency you want. Though I prefer to add frsh cream in the end because it may seperate. Coconut or cashew are safer options if you're going to simmer the dish some more.
Ohk..am I the only Indian watching this whose eyes left their socket when they saw the AMOUNT of garam masala he added😨😨😨😲😲😲 That could have been dangerous!!
Asian people would not be shocked when he showed the stone mortar, especially southern-asian people, but to them its very rare because usually they mostly cook using korean ingredients such as chill n soybean paste (usually)
I make my curry like that, and I assure you it’s extremely tasty 🤤 works best with beef and chicken in my opinion (but I add chopped tomatoes instead of bell peppers cos I hate those stuff XD)
that's almost same like making malaysian curry from the scratch..we also use cream @ milk @ coconut for creamy taste...and use tomato instead of using lemon for little sour.
Yes I was thinking I should go back to my mum's seasoning . She used to mix garam Masala paprika and curry powder mix them in a jar . And that's what she seasoned her chicken with . I buy chicken seasoning . But it doesn't taste as nice

I love how our indian traditions get incorporated in dishes like this!! This is why I stan korea
Korea is much more than this
Thank you for being open-minded about this and not being toxic like, "That's not how you do it!"
Me too ☺️
As a Indian, I strongly agree with him. Garam masala really improves the quality of food. yum yum💕
When garam masala is made fresh it tastes even better
Agreed

is it the same with the one you use in chai tea? I want to make it from zero, but don't really know the right recipe from the internet.

Korean doesn't have them in every household because it is not part of their everyday food. They probably eat it when at an Indian Restaurant.
In India also... Every house have them.

When I see a guy making Indian curry, I click.
So good to hear Nepal. I’m from Nepal
How does the garam masala tea taste like? Wouldn't it be too spicy?
They don't add chilli powder while making tea, so it won't be spicy.
