- Part 1 of building the resin version - a much larger version of the scout ship from the AMT's Leif Ericson or later re-popped UFO.
This kit is Produced by Fantastic Plastic and can be purchased through their website, a little pricey, but my hobby gets the best of me sometimes...Guess I'll be eating peanut butter and jelly for a month...
I am modifying the kit slightly to add lights to the small cockpit and add running lights to the hull. I am also scrounging around my parts bin for some similar scall cockpit parts just to add more detail to the cockpit. I will not be using the kit provided base.
I always liked the shape of this little ship and was pleasantly surprised to see it made in a larger scale. Once I opened the box, its taken over my bench and has moved up a bit in my build que. I am still working on the car - which I'm resolving the paint work. and the spindrift. I now have both sides of the cockpit lit so a post should be forthcoming.
Here is a link to the Fantastic Plastic website.

That's really cool.
SUPER COOL!!!! I ordered the NX-Refit from JT-GRAPHICS back in March and still haven't gotten it; anyone else having problems with getting kits from him recently?
Very interesting ship design. Has elements of the George Pal Martian war Machine, and as you say, the Klingon bird of prey. What TV show is it from?
This design is from the AMT kit the Lief Ericsson. The mother ship had a small scout ship in the landing bay, fantastic plastic just made a larger version of it
I know the Lief Ericsson was the first Viking ship to reach America. But other than that, it's a mystery. Can't think of a film or TV show with a ship called that.?@@lewilsons
There was no TV show that debuted this ship, it was a concept design by the same guy who designed the Star trek Enterprise and the Klingon battle cruiser.
@@lewilsons Ahh, those famous NCC1701 Jefferies tubes?
@@mrwoodandmrtin Matt Jeffries was the designer of the ships
