We Put E85 in our 2024 Mustang and Took it To The Track

- It's been about 2 months since the last outing at Gainesville and we've got a new PB! With the non-beadlock version of our Billet Specialties wheels, lighter seats, and a mix of E85 in the tank, we were able to head back to our home track, SGMP. As the summer heat is approaching, we're doing everything we can to beat the heat and get down the 1320, plus we threw the car on the dyno to see how much it is making when it goes through the traps.

Love ❤seeing you on UA-cam
These cars aren't flex fuel. The engine is gonna start running lean, and perhaps is already. I imagine it slowed down at night because the air was even better, but there wasn't enough fuel. You probably added e85 in between rounds as well.
It’s running 11.7:1 which is FAT
@@Texas_Road_Warrior I’m sure while it’s trimming 20-30% it runs like dogshit. You need a tune to properly run ethanol these videos are badddddd for the community
@@Texas_Road_Warrior stoich for e85 is essentially 10:1, so it could be running lean depending on the percentage of e he has in the tank.
@@burke985 it actually blows my mind that Steeda was the publisher of a video like this. I get the want to be cutting edge with the new platform, but it could definitely lead to someone melting their new engine.
@@Cronus_1 the stock computer will stop trimming around 20% then will run LEAN …understand now. This is terrible advice and video for a major company like Steeda to put out.
Wow you can really tell by the comments how misunderstood E85 and newer coyote fuel trims work.
You arent kidding.
Well done Scott that is and excellent 60’ with no stall torque converter👏🇨🇦😎💪
The only thing helping this car achieve the times on the track are, 15k in suspension, weight reduction and low altitude DA with track prep. I love mustangs, but unless you are willing to gut and blow a ton of cash on headers, suspension, wheels and tires and gut the car, you are gonna get gap gapped by full or lightly weight reduction 18-23 FBO tuned GT's.
That hasn’t been the real world results though.
these aren’t even tuned on E, when it get a tune and headers it’ll open up a lot more
yup till we tune it and leave them old ones behind
Do you recommend this way of shifting for better performance?
Is the s650 flex fuel?? If not, e85 will do more harm than good and really bad advice. You should have added octane booster
Yeah, it’s also making you run lean. You’re about to blow that shit up. People are so stupid clout chasing these S650s.
How about put some pressure on ford to unlock them … have an interview with someone at corporate
Hold them accountable for the bullshit
What ratio of E85/93 did you mix for the test and tune? Also, at what point of % blend of E83/93 would the factory ECU stop compensating fuel trims correctly do you think? Yes, I would love to see 93 octane only dyno numbers pls.
i made a vid on this if your curious
Would love to see a comparison of the E85 / 93 on the dyno. Would also like to know how much E did you put in the with the 93.
E85 way better. 100 octane, runs cooler, way less chance of detonation and makes more power. No comparison
@maximusvonce1381 I know that but since no S650 can run full E I want to see the comparison from what ever mixture they used vs regular 93.
@@maximusvonce1381 False, Its on stock tune and cant take advantage of the fuel. If the car was tunable, performance would increase.
@@airflow_concepts Of course you need a tune for e85 to take advantage.
@@maximusvonce1381exactly. You won't know until you try it and I get it. Now that it has been tried the results have shown up pretty clearly.
Hi Scott, I had a question about the e85. What percentage blend of e85 are you running during these passes? And how are people running full tanks of e85 without a e85 tune? I have a 19 GT and I know some guys are running a gallon or two of e85 mixed with 93. What's the maxed amount you can run on the 2018 to 2023 model safely without a tune. Also, I had a question about the 10r80 and the adaptive learning tables. I know some guys are clearing the adaptive learning tables with forscan or completely turning them off. Do you think this will harm the transmission or possibly void the warranty with Ford?
Exactly. Great question because if the ECU is still locked, how can running E85 be a benefit with tuning for it.
@@israelr6636 I run a mix of 2 gals 85 and 14 gals 93. Octane comes out to be around 94 ish and change and about E20 from what I get using online fuel calculators. Car does tend to run cooler slightly with the mix and feels like it has a little better throttle response.
Don’t do it without a tune. It is constantly running lean and will eventually blow up. You are tunable. Get a tune for e85 so you can run it safely and actually benefit from that fuel. Go thru Lund racing.
I'm curious to ask, should I wrap the kook's headers that I purchased?
Wrap will void the header warranty.
It’s noted on their site.
Did the e85 do anything I wanna put my s650 on corn I’m literally dying to
Yea it slowed it down🤣
Won't be able to utilize it very well with a locked ECU. Just keep it on premium until our cars are unlocked
people are doing it, im not doing it fuxk all that i’m trynna stretch warranty as much as i can
The stock ecu stops adjusting at a E20 it doesn’t have much more capability of that. So you’re not going to get any better performance and you’ll start leaning out after that. Good runs though and get that Etune done.
Thats completely wrong. Like very wrong. I've seen trims keep stoich at even e50 on a gen three. Stop spreading misinformation.
@@LMBC6Brian how many times have you seen this, did it happen in a controlled environment(dyno) or out on the streets data logging? Where these trims looked at when the vehicles was being tuned and under heavy load or under regular driving conditions? Did this vehicle have a power adder and a stock fuel system or NA and upgraded fuel system? You left a lot of information out of your comment. But thank for chiming in. If you run anything over E20 and go lean and blow your engine under warranty you will be paying out of pocket for a new engine. I have a friend in that situation as well speak. Thanks for your input.
1.62 with no stall? N fin way
Octane booster woulda been better
W no tune.
That sounds horrible 500 people in line? The shifting seems off, still nice rip on the track congratz.

Look at these tuuuuuuuuuners in the comment section
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Aids 😂😂😂
1:20 huh? AFR is not fuel trims and the AFR is still running pump levels. You wont see the AFR change because the fuel trims are doing the work in the background to keep stoich. This is complete misinformation you just said.
Omg yall need to hire more black guys because that car is so ugly that I don't care how it performs..huge logo is bad but that wheel tire combo is just atrocious..
anyone that buys an s650 right now is a potato.
Its okay if you can't afford one bud, but you don't need to try and put others down to make yourself feel better. It really just makes you look like a sad pathetic little beta, just sayin
