ADDITIONAL TIPS: If you are seeing tiny white lines in your design where the sections meet up, use the arrow keys on your keyboard to slightly nudge the sections together. Depending on the complexity of your design, you might have to fiddle with this a bit. Try also zooming in as far as you can to make sure things line up properly. Also, If you’re having trouble with elements or text trying to replace the image in the grid when it comes time to fill in any blank spaces, hold down the Command key (Mac) or Alt key (Windows) while moving things around. This will prevent it from snapping into the grid space.
That will eliminate the lines in Canva, but doesn't necessarily take out the lines when it is sent to a print shop for printing. How do you eliminate the actual print lines?
I created a design using AI in Canva. It is quite busy. How do I get ride of the white line for that? I tried this process but it did seem to work for that.
When I tried using my arrows to nudge like you said, it didn't move it. Do I need to do anything to allow the arrows to move it? I had just a slight white line between the top and bottom, even though it was sized correctly and in the exact corners it needed to be.
I am not joking when I say I have been at my computer for probably 8+ hours looking for a tutorial that isn't 30-40 minutes long and that doesn't make my brain hurt and finally, at 1:30 AM here I am ready to go design thanks to this tutorial. a 10-minute tutorial at that! you are God-sent😊

When you are using “grids”, click “spacing” (its located on the top left of your work) then change the spacing to “0” - that will make the tiny gaps go away
@FelixG-dq9dp Mine did the same (I had a tiny gap between the squares) so I used the arrows on the keyboard to move the square up/over just a little bit. If you zoom in you can verify the gaps are gone. Hope this helps!

Thank you for this easy video. I have tried setting my design up but for some reason it is saving as a zip file. What am I doing wrong? Please help me troubleshoot.
You mean when you download it? Make sure you are only downloading single pages. Some browsers like Chrome will zip the file when there is more than one page selected
Love this video thankyou so much, this is so much easier, I have a question though I print canvas for bow making so wondered if you would be able to make a video on how to make the seamless patter smaller? Would you 🙏 🙏 😊 x

Love the video. For some reason when I try it after I add it to the first grid and download it, it saves it as a zip file so then I can’t upload it into canva to do the next grid. I can’t figure out why.
So glad you enjoyed it! What browser are you using? If it's Chrome, make sure to only select the page you need when downloading. That should prevent your browser from zipping the file.

Just discovered this channel, and subscribed right away. Incidentally, you've also shown -- but not called out -- how to make seamless patterns only in one of the two directions: top->bottom and left->right :)
So you’ll want to take that very last step (where you added the pattern to the 4 squares), and download the whole thing one last time and upload back to Canva. That new pattern image came be used just like any other image, including putting it inside of frames.
@@thecreativekatstudio Thank you so much, it is actually very simple. I'm still not used to downloading and uploading images in Canva to be able to use them like images. Thank you again for taking your time to reply and explaining everything.

Thanks so much, this works!! The only thing I’m finding is when I save my pattern I’m having the grid lines show? Is there a way to remove them? Will they show during printing?
Sometimes when creating patterns Canva doesn't always bring everything to the edges on the final part of the design. It depends on the complexity of your pattern. When you upload for the last time and add each quarter section to your final layout, you might have to use your arrow keys to nudge them once or twice toward the center. This is great✔️but what about the pattern app? Is that not easier
It depends on the effect that you want. You don’t have as much control with the pattern app, but it’s still a fun tool for some things.🙂

Sometimes when creating patterns Canva doesn't always bring everything to the edges on the final part of the design. It depends on the complexity of your pattern. When you upload for the last time and add each quarter section to your final layout, you might have to use your arrow keys to nudge them once or twice toward the center. That's because even though it shows that it's aligned with the purple guide lines, it might not be. Zoom all the way in as far as you can to see where the gaps are, and nudge the pieces into place.
