Currently have 11 days left of my Daniel fast and i’ve come to very similar realizations. I also came in with a list full of expectations, and in prayer had to surrender and just ask God to have his way for this fast and immediately I felt fulfilled and this fast has been so much better ❤️❤️❤️
Very powerful what you said - Fasting is not abstaining from food but focusing on God and his word, being attentive to the Holy Spirit. And this is exactly what fasting helps us achieve- this sensitivity to the things of the Spirit and enabling us act upon them.
Thank you my sister I've done fasts before and Jehovah has met my needs fully and even exceedingly in those fasts. but in my latest big fast I've been praying for a lot of things concerning my family and finances when I ended it my flesh began to doubt since I didn't physically see my prayer points manifested. I now ask that y'all help me pray over my current enemy (the flesh) that is limiting Jehovah works for me Thank you!!

It has been misunderstood to be a tool we can use to manipulate God into answering our prayers when in essence it helps us humble ourselves to ascertain Gods will and kills our flesh so that we can connect with him on a deeper spiritual level.

@Chris Balogh Abundance =/= love of money. God provides for His children in every need, exactly how much, exactly when we need it. Being in alignment with God's word brings us to provision. What kind of Loving Father desires for their children to be in poverty? That is a lie, that is a false teaching. God desires to bless us with bounty both in this life and our life in the Kingdom of Heaven.. and because the Kingdom is upon us now, so are the blessings. Let us be humble enough to both know Who provides, and to be provided for.
That's true must at times we fast for selfish reasons just as you mentioned. I need this fasting my spiritual life has been lacking esp during this quarantine

I would add..... it's not a sin or wrong to ask specifically God what you want while fasting. You can actually and you must... Je will give you the desire of your heart. If you want something new or breakthrough or specific something, money, house, job, etc ASK and pray and fast. Mathew 18 19 Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.

I did a 21 day Fast JESUS gave me Wisdom on a matter I had prayed for many years 4 short days into the Fast. People if you want answers do a FAST.😇🙏😇💯
