That's my buddy Isaiah's car. The car is still very much alive, but it went through a major flood a few years ago. He owns a black Mark VIII but has recently started working in getting this white one going again.
I connected with Isaiah a few years ago on IG when they made a previous list. And I asked for permission to use a pic of his black one back then. I like his style hence why I went back to the well on this one 😁
I actually had a reference to that, but it didn't make the cut. I sort of barfed over some words and it didn't come out very well "he custom turbo fabricated a kit" I believe is how it came out
This is awesome you are mentioning the Mark 8s and I agree it is not for the weary at all. It is true how the the two models of MN12 (Cougar, tbird) , and the FN10 (Mark 8) can interchange most parts, but I only utilized the clutch pedal assembly from an SC tbird for my Mark 8. The engine is part of the Ford Modular family so swapping to a TR6060 does not require buying a kit of any kind. The rear arms for the Mark 8 are aluminum where as the others are steel, and stuff like that. I upgraded the brakes on my Mark 8 using the SN95 big brake conversion kit for the 2010 GT500 Brembo style calipers. Th front knuckles are very similar so it took minimal shaving to get the clearance for the kit and have the pokes from the wheels not contact the caliper. Front hubs are easy to bolt on the same year 5x4.5 wheel bolt pattern hubs. The Rears, I used the factory rear caliper offset adapter and pressed the 5x4.5 rear hubs w/ new bearings to swap over the cobra bigger rotor and wheel bolt pattern. I made a bracket to add a second mark 8 rear caliper on both sides to operate with the hydro handbrake system without interfering with the factory foot braking system.
@@8bit_bryan well, now that ASU is in the Big12, and I like watching my K-state Wildcats on the road from time to time...there's a good chance I'll be there some day!
@@kingerikthegreatest.ofall.7860 remind me did the t-birds and cougars also have IRS? I almost lumped them together in this episode, but reality was the M8 was plentiful on its own and it saved me some time in extra research
Interesting build. Always thought the Lincolns were for older chunky guys puffing on a stogie with a pinstripe suit and those awful white shoes that they wore. Looking forward to #2 and #1, have a great weekend Grant!

Stay Tuned/Tony Angelo did a MK8 build on his channel.

That's a great write-up! Appreciate the technical info! Sounds like a badass ride I'd love to walk around and check out

Always been curious about these since they have the 4 cam engine
@@RiggsGarage I really think they're sneaky good starter kits because of that
I’m selling my 30 th anniversary 97 cougar . Same platform as the Lincoln,

@ yes, the 90s cougars , t-birds and mark viii were all built on the same platform.
I would take a MK7 LSC or a MK8
I think I'd rather build a Mark VII than a Mark VIII, but the availability is way more weighted towards the 8

this particular car would have garnered an interesting demographic in 1993-1998
That's because your young and didn't live through the timeline of this car
@chriskarsseboom2200 I certainly was here for the timeline of this car, I'm 64, and that's who I always saw driving that type of car back in the day.
