Even though Season 3 is my favorite season of Korra, my favorite part in Season 1 is split between Amon's Origin flashback and Amon and his brother dying on the boat. Which sounds dark, but I found it poetic in a way. The two brothers unable to live carrying the sins of their father.
Yeah, I like the theory people have too that Amon can sense Tarrlok's plan to blow up the boat because of his bloodbending, but he doesn't try to stop it, part of the reason why he sheds a tear at the end. Amon was basically tryna rebel against the whole system of they world with his non benders and benders mindset, but at the end with his brother he just lets it all go instead of fighting back like he's been doing his whole life
Same that shit was cold. One thing I like about Korra more than ATLA is that it was able to get much darker.

@@battousaix4263 I feel like they dragged AF outby stretching it into 2 series. Omiverse gets better near the end but it just didn't live up to the original or Generator Rex for me personally
@@platnumbreakerYeah, UAF I think is one of the lower points of the series too. Another thing that I liked more in AF compared to og is that I prefer the dynamics between Ben, Gwen, and Kevin a LOT more than they episode to episode interactions with Max. I liked Rook and Ben too but not as much as the trio in AF, but also more than the og trio. I do think that Omni is better in the end but the first big arcs of Omni are solid too, Malware and Feedback's story is dope as hell for example.
I might get crucified for this but I like Gen Rex more than og ben, and even AF. Then its extremely close against Omni

Dylan has a great point about Korra over Danny. Korra is hoed bc her show is a sequel to one of the best cartoons of all time, it was honestly never going to live up to its predecessor. But Danny was standalone and far less captivating in terms of story because it was episodic.

The legend of Korra had great ideas, but Korra herself was just bad at being the avatar. Her personality seemed to always conflict with the other characters and yhey seemed to work better when she wasn't around.
That was the point of her character though...
I mean Korra being "bad" at being the Avatar led to an incredible season 4. Korra's arc in season 4 and her development in that season deadass brings the whole sequel series up so hard and it wouldn't have been as heavy of a payoff if she didn't have so much conflict in the earlier seasons. I do agree that sometimes its pretty jarring seeing characters mesh and vibe together more without her around

These dudes shoulda called me. Korra went from being the polar opposite of Aang. Being that she was physical adept in her bending abilities however lacking in her spiritual side. Aang more in tune spiritually but wasn’t as physically strong as Korra.
Korra had little to no guidance of any past lives, lost her bending to Amon then regained it from Aang, almost died from Unalaq and Vaatu, damn near died from Zaheer and the Red Lotus which made her damn near crippled her, she brought herself back up little by leader challenging war and national leaders while suffering from PTSD, for her to bring a new era of existence and spirituality to the realm.
The reason the show got rid of the past lives is because of MFS like y’all crying about how ATLA is better and “where’s Aang at?” Or wanting to see more of the old crew. They rid of all that shit to establish to viewers that “this is the LEGEND OF KORRA” not aang anymore. They received a bunch of hate mail and even threats to the creators about it, they would harass them during conventions about it. However seasons 1,3,4 were topnotch Korra. The only thing y’all can rag on em for was season 2 when they did all that fuck shit
Aang clears Korra, no questions asked. He was an evasion expert even before mastering all elements. A fight between Aang and Korra would probably end up in Aang tiring Korra out and beating her by intelligence over raw power, he'd definitely find an opening. Korra was so emotionally unstable and immature (also arrogant), matter of fact she never really lost that aspect of personality.
But you can keep on dreaming, it's just crazy to me how Korra fans are in denial like that.

I think people need to be real with themselves and actually think about if you had one cartoon to watch on CN or Nick for the rest of your life dealing with out of order airing of episodes and getting the same episode from the previous day. Would you really choose a story driven show vs an episodic show? Too many people are wearing their nostalgic goggles when it comes to story vs what actually makes a show re-watchable. Think of it like a Video game. Gameplay will always determine the replay-ability of a game vs the story. This is what makes Episodic shows king of re-watch ability. You can tune in and out of the show without worry about the order of it. If I wanted to watch a cool clip of my favorite scene from Avatar or Ben 10 I got UA-cam. But imagine trying to re-watch a story driven show from episode 1 to the final episode on Television consistently.
