Run defense is a complete 180 from last year. It's way better. Secondary has to improve, but i think they will be better in week 2 after some film study and corrections in practice, especially with having 9 days until their next game vs 7 days if they played on Saturday. Week 1 to week 2 is the biggest jump teams make in improving. Drinkwitz has to open up the playbook vs kstate too. He was holding back in this game.
2 were generated by tips from up front and 3rd was under hurry and snagged by Tyron Hopper (LB who looked great btw) Secondary def didn’t look good. Safety play got caught way out position on multiple occasions
You played LA Tech. A team that most FCS schools would beat. I wouldn't say your defense has really improved until next week when you play a KSU team that is expected to be just as good, if not better than their 2012 team.
After the 75 yard td Missouris secondary cleaned it up. Good coaching and smart players. Missouri may surprise.4th quarter was backups and freshman getting snaps so not concerned
Glad to see so many transfers standing out. Cook looks capable. Burden is a gift from the football gods. But the secondary looks confused. Every SEC team is watching this and saying the same thing…put it in the air.
@@runyunhyde4373 Had nothing to do with speed. They were blown coverages / miscommunications. That's fixable. Our secondary has plenty of speed. One safety is a 4 star transfer from Clemson. I wish espn would not put a title picture using the winning team. Some people like to watch reruns not knowing beforehand who ends on top. During the week I look at the match ups and write my games down. Then when recaps start showing up I use an envelope to block out the winner picture. Guess that will be the norm for me....
Burden might carry them to a bowl game but that secondary got ate tf up. There’s not a single team in the sec this year that I don’t think is capable of making a bowl game. Mizzou and Vandy were the only ones I thought might not be capable but if they use burden right he’s a game changer he might be able to get them there. @@allenlockett7449 Ah ha! Yes, I'll agree with a "good" win. Saying great is a stretch. I'm a fan, as well. We can't really call a win against LA Tech, Abilene Christian, or New Mexico State "great" wins. Those are designed freebies. I think this year will be pretty tough.
I think you have to realize most of mizzou’s roster is still breaking in. Lots of newer guys. They were able to break in late and they will definitely have a lot better game next week. Obviously defense needs work but they will get it going.
Hope I'm wrong, but this looks like a 6-6 team to me. Defense looks improved from last year. Running backs look average, although I do think N. Peat has some upside. QB is upgrade from last year. It's just a tough schedule. I'll be more optimistic if they beat K-state.
