    Looks great !! I am a straight natural also and I decided I am tired of the butters, the products the hunt for the perfect routine all the time $$..2020 was my breaking point..my hair is so much better now...I wont relax but was over the natural hair struggle

      Exactly! I love reviewing new products but sometimes its too much LOL and yeah, I'll never relax but I gotta do something different.

    You are beautiful! Love the darker red color. I would say keep this color for a while. I am a straight-hair natural because similar to you, I became tired of the hours spent each wash day. Every two to three weeks, I go in to my stylist and she does a silk press for me. It's such a treat to have someone wash your hair and I look forward to "wash days" now lol. With the summer months, I may try a slick bun as needed or a blow dried braid out, or maybe a braided style in my natural hair. I know you will make a decision that will work best for your lifestyle and rock it well. Also, I'm a July baby as well!

      I think so too with the color! Wash days are so much better when someone else does them LOL and yay! Another July baby!

    My daughters are straight hair naturals they said beware of heat damage and get regular trims. FYI: also always use a heat protectant

    I understand your frustration. I've been natural for seven years and in those years I've big chopped twice and gone back to a relaxer. I regret relaxing, but I did it out of frustration for the time it takes to do my hair. I personally prefer how I look with my natural hair and bigger hair so relaxing isn't an option. Anyway you slice and dice it, natural hair takes time to do. What I miss most about having straighter hair is shorter wash days, I work out so being a heat trained natural wouldn't work for me b/c of scalp sweat. I always thought a keratin treatment seems like a middle ground b/c you could blow dry your hair and wear fluffier styles, you'll still have the fullness of natural hair yet with the ease of straight(er) hair. I'm very interested in seeing what your stylist comes up with. Please keep us posted. I'll be tuning in. Btw, your colored hair looks awesome!

    • @AnnisaLiMara
      @AnnisaLiMara  3 роки тому +1

      All of this!! I’m definitely looking for a middle ground or just have to find more low maintenance styles and a wash and go ain’t it lol thank you!

      @@AnnisaLiMara I hear you! Wash n go's are my primary style, but there are still days when it needs to be redone and that in itself takes more time to do. Looking forward to what you do.

    I came to the same conclusion in my late 20s and my loose hair hasn’t been long since like early 2000s. I work out and sweat a lot PLUS having to maintain it straight would still take more time than I’m willing to commit to hair. My hair is super short at about an inch at the top and shorter every where else and platinum. The only other style I might try one day is a tapered cut but I’d have to give up my platinum hair and go back to purple hair (I’ve gotta have color) so I don’t know as I love my platinum too much lol. That’s it for me in regards to styles lol - I get to have a cute style, my time and my color with my current cut or a tapered cut if I ever decide to try it. It’s a compromise either way and I feel you on not wanting to spend your time on hair. It wasn’t okay with me I’m a full time creative and need to spend my time creating. I’ve been able to paint a whole collection with more time in my life.

    I like your hair in all of its color and style iterations. I absolutely understand about reclaiming your time. I went to a bob cut last year and wanted a sleeker look so, I tried keratin. I have my daughter's full mane of hair and mine to do so, in order to have any kind of weekend, I needed my hair to be faster.

    Your hair is beautiful and i love the color. I am definitely a color girl. My hair was at its longest when i wore it straight. I would wash it once a month, deep condition, blow dry and flat iron. Once i put heat on it that one time that was it for the month. That is how i kept it healthy. Once it started to get old i would turn it into a braid out and then into a ponytail until it was time to wash again. I never skipped deep conditioning and always made sure to keep it moisturized. My hair flourished and i was at waist length. At that time in my life I just had my second child my first baby was 3 and it was just the easiest for me. You can definitely have healthy straight natural hair. Love your channel!

    I was a straight hair natural for years I only started wearing it curly for the past 4 years and it has been 11 years since I had my last perm. I do my own hair and I might go twice a year to get it done professionally. There is a lady in here in Jackson she does amino acid treatments for manageability but I haven’t tried that out yet. It is expensive, but you definitely have to do what works for you!

    • @AnnisaLiMara

    I am all for this video & everything you stated♥️ I’ve been contemplating being a straight haired natural, but as soon as I mentioned it- someone told me that I might as well get a relaxer 🙄. I def wont be doing that but baybeee… I am tired of doing my hair and after having a baby in October, I really don’t have time for the twist outs and etc. def want to reclaim my time back as well!

    • @AnnisaLiMara
      @AnnisaLiMara  3 роки тому

      Oh yay! And it is NOT the same as a relaxer, people are a trip smh. And congrats on the new baby! I definitely understand the time constraints there LOL

    I have decided to be a straight natural as well. I got a keratin complex treatment and I'm happy with my decision. I wasn't wearing my hair I was wearing braids all the time. When I did wear my natural hair all I knew how to do was wash and go lol I'm 3c/4a and I could never master a twist out it looked like crinkle cut French fries sticking up all over my head lol

    • @AnnisaLiMara
      @AnnisaLiMara  2 роки тому +1

      not a crinkle cut french fry!!! I'm tickled! How does the keratin work? I'm scared it may damage my hair too much.

    I’m with on the natural state I’m OVER IT my friends and I went natural in 2001 and about a few weeks ago one of them said I’M OVER IT IM NOT WEARING MY HAIR KINKY ANYMORE… the we all chimed it. I just don’t have time to manipulate and get it more manageable. I also prefer straight natural or even a perm … yea I said it… love the color

    • @AnnisaLiMara

      sis, same! I've done the natural thing and although I love my curls, right now I prefer my hair straight but not relaxer straight though lol

    What about staying with a shorter cut style? Shorter cut natural hair takes maintenance n you looked so beautiful with the short too I just cuz my hair again n trying to figure out now that you do with it but my interest in my hair was revived once I cut it cuz it was down near my chest
    But I had bad hair loss from being lazy n putting it up a lot so I decided to start over again n cut it. N it’s so much easier now to maintain n I can simply put on a wig too if I want or weave or still do braids n crochet anyways
    I hope you find what you’re looking for
    I used to be straight hair gurl cuz I hardly got relaxers during that time but I had horrible heat damage n it was noticeable when I tried to wear it curly so I just cut it off.
    You can try grape seed oil as a heat protectant n other natural heat protectant too

    • @AnnisaLiMara
      @AnnisaLiMara  2 роки тому

      I had it short for so long and if I do that, I'm gonna shave all of it off. I like extremes lol either really short or long. I love my hair, it's just wearing it curly is a pain sometimes

  • @britjj5126
    @britjj5126 2 роки тому

    I get what you mean when you talk about reclaiming your time. My hair is nowhere near your length but it’s dense and as it grows I can see myself getting overwhelmed. It’s why I big chopped the 2nd time 😅 thankfully I’m a bit more knowledgeable as to how to take care of it. Maybe you need to rock some braids while you think on it... maybe mini twists on stretched out/blown out hair... or a flat twist style... look on Pinterest for inspo. Can wear the style for a week or two. When I’m getting bored, frustrated or overwhelmed with my hair into box braids it goes and I’m back to missing it in no time 😂

    • @AnnisaLiMara

      Girl yes! I'm so over it! But I have to be careful with color and heat which I'm starting to regret so I'm thinking of growing out my color for now!
