If I'm just doing straight line highway stuff, the risk is relatively low enough that I'll forego the gesr sometimes. If I'm doing any sort of backroads or really trying to hit turns hard, I have several sets of gear. It's all down to your own level of risk tolerance, really. There are no guarantees on a motorcycle.
In Az it's to hot to were much, I had my 012 Zx14r for over 7 years, I rode in shorts and tank top ,tennis shoes, its a no helmet law state, go deal.,,, Head would burn up in a skid lid,, , just oil change every 2500 miles , and tires every 3500 miles, Ninja zx14r, best bike on the planet, had voodoo, shorties,, they a sleeper,, 012 nothing challenged me, it was fasted production bike on the planet,,
